no. nice guy - he recommended surgery for my wife...thought she had an obstruction based on CT scan. I asked why did not call in a colo rectal surgeon and do a scope. He said, "it presented as an obstruction" that was wrong! we told everyone upon admittance we thought it was 'pouchitis" - had that before. Thank goodness for Dr. Smith - who subbed when Dr. Martinez was sick and recommended going to a 'bigger hospital with a colon rectal specialist surgeon" Turns out - once the scope results were in - no obstruction. Dr. Martinez admitted he had NO EXPERIENCE operating on someone with a J pouch. but had done hundreds of other bowel obstructions. I liked him - but I shudder to think about what could have happened if he had done surgery on my wife. Not trying to get him in trouble...at all...just a reminder "pride goeth before the fall" be careful about surgeon arrogance Dr. Martinez....you were dead wrong this time. Thank you Dr. Smith!!!!!
