Dr. Michael Albert Leonard

I saw Dr. Leonard on 15 February 23. After my office visit I was told by him and the staff that they would write a referral for me to see a Neurologist. And that they would be contacting me with the referral information. As of today I have not heard or received any information or confirmation about a referral from them. I wrote an outstanding review of my opinion of both Doctor Leonard and his staff and the professionalism they displayed during my visit. However, after not being contacted by them for almost three weeks it has caused me to pause in my previous opinion. I guess you really have to do a complete evaluation before making a concise analysis of my visit.

Absolutely yes! Dr. Leonard is a no nonsense neurosurgeon who performed back surgery on me after a car accident. He explained the details of the surgery in a way that I could understand, pre and post surgery. I trusted him on my first visit and knew that I wanted him to be my surgeon. His staff is so friendly and were always prepared for my visits. They prepared me for the surgery and made sure I understood what was going to happen and what I needed to do before and after surgery. Dr. Leonard and his staff are the very best at what they do!

Dr Leonard performed a lower back laminectomy and I had instant relief! Whitney is an "All-Star"! She handled everything like a Pro. I had an MRI on Thurs morning and I was in the docs office on Fri and the surgery was on the next Tues. I went in Tues morn and was home by lunchtime on the same day! Ashley, PA is wonderful and very helpful during the surgery and during follow up. All the staff is on top of it! Doc is a "world-class intergalactic" surgeon!

It's quite obvious that you didn't need surgery if Dr. Leonard did not want to operate, plus you have to follow protocol before surgery as any decent person knows. Dr. Leonard did a 4 level fusion on me which straighten out my spine and relieved me if all my pain and numbness. He did an excellent job and I've hadn't had any problems with it for over 7 years. I would recommend him to anyone that has serious disk herniation that need to be taken care of. He probably did not have time to waste on you since your problems were not very serious and also did not do what you were instructed to do, or maybe your insurance did not want to pay. There must have been several issues with your case for Dr. Leonard to not want to operate. I went to Dr. Leonard with a lower back issue. I had a minimal invasive disc surgery 18 months earlier from another doctor, which lasted about 6 months. I told Dr, Leonard that the pain was so bad and I just wanted the surgery. He listen and understood their were no other option. After my MRI, he explained the surgery and what to expect. This my 7th week and I feel great, I can actually sit without leaning to the side. I am so glad I went to Dr. Leonard, the staff and environment was very pleasant.

Well trained office staff and excellent PA. Had excellent results after surgery and was satisfied with results.

He did both my husband's neck and lower back surgeries. No problems and quick recovery time. We feel very blessed to have found him. No games and straight forward about all aspects. We highly recommend him.

Dr Leonard is a fantastic Neurosurgeon. I had a ruptured disk and stenosis (pinched spinal cord). Dr Leonard fused 4 vertebra and corrected my spinal cord pinching very successfully. My back is much better now. The severe back and leg pain is gone. I am very grateful that a friend suggested I see Dr. Leonard. I think I would be in a wheel chair by now without his help.

Dr. Leonard performed a microdiscotomy to correct two herniated discs. For the first time in 3 years I am pain free. Highly recommend

Dr.Leonard was so caring and knowledgeable of my health issue. He is very conservative which is something I was looking for. I went through pain management for a year before I decided with Dr. Leonard it was time for my L5S1 fusion and Laminectomy. Foundations hospital was great. All the staff and Dr. Leonard was amazing. His office is so polite and easy to get too. I would definitely recommend him for your health care needs. Thank you Dr. Leonard and staff.

I cant say enough good things about Dr. L. He was freindly yet proffessional. He explained everything while showing me the areas of concern on xrays. and answered all the questions my husband and I both asked and didnt pressure me into getting surgery. Recovery was much faster than expected.. He actually saved me from 10+ years of agony. I would reccommend him to anybody without hesitation. Thanx Doc, Ashley and all the staff!!!!!!

Dr. Leonard is an outstanding neurosurgeon. He took care of me for an L5-S1 microdiscectomy. The surgery went very well and have no more chronic pain. He is an excellent surgeon and would trust him to take care of anyone in my family. He is highly skilled and uses advanced technology to perform micro surgery in an exact manner. If you need a neurosurgeon for your neck, back, or spine. Go and see him.

Very good experience, my surgery went very well and my recovery is even better than I expected.

He assured me 90% relief. 90 days later, I can feel relief and can walk again. I am so pleased with him.

Dr. Leonard and office staff take their time and explain everything in detail. We never felt rushed and phone calls were returned immediately if we ever had questions. My husband has had two spinal fusions with Dr. Leonard and we highly recommend him.

Dr. Leonard is an excellent doctor. He performed my back surgery a month and a half ago and has helped eliminate my back pain. The surgery was extensive replacing hardware on a previous surgery which fused L4 and L5, fused L3, removed a ruptured disc and cleaned out arthritis causing spinal stenosis. I highly recommend him. His staff is outstanding.

I am very impressed with Dr Leonard. He explained everything to me and even drew pictures, to make sure I understood. My surgery went as smooth as possible and couldn’t of been better. I would definitely recommend him for any spinal surgery!

Very profesional doctor and courteous office

Dr. Leonard did a wonderful job with my cervical and lumbar surgeries. I was in a terrible accident and have my life back without pain. I'm very grateful for his expertise. He is serious, which is what one would want from a neurosurgeon. His staff is very helpful. Also, he has a PA and he is well informed about a patient's issues. It took a little time and the pay off was huge for me. I am very grateful for his skill and expertise.

Best thing I can say is NO MORE PAIN! Life is getting back to normal.

Dr. Leonard was recommended to me by a family member when a long term back injury began causing me sciatic nerve problems. He proved to be a seasoned professional with the wisdom and experience to guide me through the various options for treatment. After initially treating the symptoms through main management, I opted to have Dr. Leonard perform microdiscectomy surgery to remove the portion of the herniated disk that was impinging on the sciatic nerve root. All has turned out well, I feel good!

Having had two prior back surgeries with no good results, I came to Dr. Leonard. After non-invasive treatment failed, Dr. Leonard performed a Lumbar Fusion that was 100% successful. I cannot say enough about the caring attitudes of the entire staff who are quick, efficient and competent. Dr. Leonard is a great doctor but more than that, he is a good man who cares about his patients. He even called me after hours to discuss the procedure the night before the actual surgery.

Took time and had lots of patience in explaining the problem, so my husband and I could understand.

I have been very disappointed! Saw on Monday--told me he was making a pain dr referral--it had not been made by the end of the week, and I was I pain. I called his office mid week and was told it takes 3 to 4 days. On my appointment day, I arrived 20 minutes early with my paperwork already complete and wasn't seen until much after my appt time although I was the only patient there! Arrogant... as if I was taking up his time! Didn't explain my herniated disk at all!

I can't say enough good things about Dr Leonard and his team. At such a scary time they provided me with comfort and professional care I don't think I could've gotten anywhere else. I'm so grateful for their continued support even after my surgery.

Waste of time and money. He gives you a generic handout at the end of your visit, that you can print out yourself online. He disregarded every concern I brought up and would not listen to me long enough to make an accurate individualized diagnosis or treatment options. With MY recommendation he requested another MRI (previous one from 2014) to be done on my neck, in which he found more herniated disks in my lower cervical region. His recommendation? Epidural shot, which I explained to him during my visit did not help and made my condition worse, and to follow his packet, which are basic stretches. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Highly recommend Dr Leonard. His skill with my spine has been flawless. 1st fusion lasted 10 years. 2nd fusion went 2 years... I had a tree fall on me and ruined his good work. With his positive encouragement, I have good years ahead of me. Thank you so much for fixing my broken body... 3 times.

From start to finish Dr. Leonard was very professional and patient with my husband and myself. We both have had Dr. Leonard do our back surgeries. We have both had very good outcomes. Would definitely recommend Dr. Leonard.

Dr Leonard and his staff, from my first surgery in 2010 until my most recent surgery in 2016, have always made me feel extremely comfortable in my major decisions by informing me of my condition as well as answering any questions that my have come up.

Very through in discussing risk verses benefits of surgery. Answered questions very well and encouraged me to ask questions. Excellent staff! All personnel were very professional and helpful. Staff is very prompt and efficient. Doctor is very kind, friendly, and takes time to answer any and all questions from both my wife and myself. .

Dr. Leonard performed my first discectomy some years ago and it was a complete success. I required another surgery for a different level and once again, Dr. Leonard corrected the problem brilliantly. I do not wish injury or surgery on anyone, but I would highly, highly, recommend Dr. Leonard for any surgery that falls in his field of expertise. He is a wonderful asset to the medical profession. Should I ever need another surgery, rest assured Dr. Leonard will be the one.
