It’s been eleven months since I had Achilles Tendon Lengthening Surgery. All I can say is wow! It took almost 2 months of PT and was worth it. Today I am having no pain and can perform all the daily activities that I couldn’t before. I am flat footed for the first time in 15 years!!

03/01/2023 Went for Bunion and hammered consult. Dr Johnson was friendly, very informative and scheduled my surgery promptly. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. So far so good. Will give an update when surgery is complete

I've been under his care since 9-24-22 from an aircraft crash. A great Dr for sure. Very honest and upfront.

If I could give him 0 I would!! This has been the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. I was scheduled for surgery, went for my Covid-19 test and 2 days before my surgery I was called and canceled with quote “no further action at this time”. When I told the lady I had rearranged 6 weeks of my life for this surgery and she told me that was not her problem!! If I could give him 0 I would!! My friend goes to this doctor, but not for long. I do not recommend Michael D. Johnson or should I say, “Mike Jones”. I understand as a doctor you see crazy stuff all the time, every day. I do NOT understand how a doctor can be so misunderstanding. As a doctor, you should be educated on wounds or illnesses, the symptoms & an idea of what pain & struggles may come with it. With that being said, looking at your patient who has went through something traumatic just wanting help on getting back strong to the way she was before & simply telling her, “walk” as if it’s just that easy for her is NOT okay. Do doctors not recommend physical therapy anymore? Or is it just this doctor not caring for his patients? Are doctors not helpful & just blatantly putting their patients strength down or is it just that she’s going to the wrong doctor? Incredible care at UAB! I highly recommend Dr. Michael Johnson! Dr. Johnson was direct, clear, and efficient in how he was going to treat me. Most of all, the people at UAB are world class and you will thank yourself for choosing this group for your medical needs!

Dr. Johnson has been a blessing/lifesaver for me. I have been a patient of his for a few years and have had a few surgeries by him. He answers any questions you may have without making you feel rushed. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done to get me back on track.
