Great bedside manner, we always felt we could ask as many questions as we wanted whether after surgery or during follow-up visits. Amazing post care: with 6 total surgeries, a pulmonary embolism, and bone infection, Dr. Githens was involved in all parts of the rehabilitation and healing

Dr Githens and his team are amazing. A year ago last May, I was flown to Harborview to try and save my badly injured foot in an auto accident. I have had 2 surgeries and am now walking. I will however always have pain but I also have a foot. Thank you so much for all you do.

To whom it may concern. Just over a year ago my friend Lubov Rakhlin took a nasty fall in Alaska. Upon arriving to the UW I learned she had completely shattered hertibia. The surgeon Michael Githens , his team of doctors as well , as all of the hospital staff we encountered went beyond my expectations of service and professionalism. All involved helped to make an incredibly difficult time in Luba's life that much easier to bear. Even friends who visited were impressed with the level of care I she was receiving. I’m happy to say, thanks to the exceptional work of the surgeon and subsequent therapy afterwards, she is almost completely healed, and there is barely a scar. Wasn't pleased the circumstances I was meeting Dr. Githens since I was hit by a car,, but I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon! I have no recollection of meeting him around the surgery but was told he answered all of our family's questions and treated us with kindness and respect. I am very appreciative that he wasn't quick to push me back to work and recognized my limitations and agreed to additional physical therapy. While it's unfortunate I will have to undergo another surgery to remove my hardware, I couldn't be more at ease that Dr. Githens will be the one doing it. He's young, but he definitely knows what he is doing and was trained extremely well!
