Michael Alt

Dr.Alt is amazing. He does not second guess on diagnosis. My husband has been going to Dr. Alt since 2008 and the care Dr. Alt has provided is excellent. He is thorough and doesn't sugar coat his advice. Our General Practioner speaks very highly of Dr. Alt and assures us that Dr. Alt is the greatest.

Absolutely one of the best doctors! The office staff was fantastic from the time I entered until I left. Dr. Alt is very thorough, kind, professional & is in no hurry to get you out the door. He takes all the time you need & actually listens!

This was the worst experience, I have ever had. He treated us like, he were paying us, not us him. He asked us to walk up front, and we were not done, with appointment. I had an episode, in his office. He came in, and asked my husband, “if we needed to reschedule, because I couldn’t talk”. He never asked, is she ok, is this what I need to be looking for, is this what’s going on, ZERO. Well, thank God above, I had another appointment lined up, went, and they found a tumor, in my brain. Don’t go to this Dr., if you need help. That’s right, he shewed me out, the next week, I went to another Dr., and he found a tumor!!

He did an excellent job. Took time, conduct thorough exam and tests. Reviewed my MRI in detail with me. Staff is very nice and patient, which is always a plus.

Dr. Alt has been amazing from the start. He is the only neurologist I found that I felt really listened to me. He cares about his patients. Dr. Alt takes his time to make sure he has all the details & your questions answered before the visit is over. I don’t know what I would have done without him!

Ive been going to Dr. Alt for over 10 years. He’s always been a great listener and very responsive to my needs. His staff has always been great to me. Ive never had an issue getting prescriptions sent in quickly. Dr Alt never rushes through an appointment and really hears me out fully.

Dr Alt was thorough in his assessments, knowledgeable and communicated effectively, researched my history to understand my complications and ordered appropriate labs. He spent time with me on my initial visit and I felt he was vested in the cause of my medical issues.

They don't respond to pharmacy faxes or phone calls and made my father in law run out of his meds and he had a seizure because of it!!! He again is out of meds and the pharmacy has tried 12 times to get his rx refilled!!! Incompetent... Putting patients lives at stake... Grrrr

This man cares. 2 years after my diagnosis he keeps on me making sure I am doing what I need to be and checking up on me. Have never felt like a number.... Not once. Amazing patient care is rare these days but not rare with Dr. Alt. He even made sure I knew my MRI results when out of the country. Made having a terrible life changing event so much less terrible. I have been seeing Dr Alt since a almost fatal motorcycle accident in 2006. I had a total of 4 brain bleeds, as well as 14 fractures in my face. Until my accident I was a person who Never went to a Dr at all.... for anything. Didn't care for them. But I have to say after getting delt the cards of life and knowing I'll always need a neurologist for the rest of my days, I'm truly thankful to have found Dr Alt.... He is certainly a great Doctor who takes the time to get to know not only your medical issues, but also how they affect you in your everyday lifestyle and how you want That to improve better for you and your kids... and the staff in the office is Always 100% respectful and kind... They get you in and out as quickly as possible. Of course like any Dr office some days are a little busier than others, but they still manage to knock it out in good time.. Thank you Dr Alt. Always enjoy my appointments with Dr. Alt. He has a good sense of humor and I can tell he enjoys talking to people. He has the ability to have a pleasant conversation and at the same time listen for any problems one may have. He’s a good listener.

Dr. Alt always takes time to listen to the patient and is diligent in finding the issue and the correct treatment. Caring and compassionate, highly recommend him.

After sitting in waiting room c. 20-25 mins, I was seated in an exam room and there c. 35 mins. I would rather have stayed in the waiting room, as it had a TV. When the doctor finally greeted me, I was asked to move again, to his office. A traditional exam room is not necessary for treatment by a neurologist. The post-lunch consultation wasn’t rushed, but the doctor yawned constantly during it, which was c. 30-40 mins. I didn’t doubt his ability was diminished but it was disconcerting.

I would give Dr. Alt’s office 4 stars but his front desk staff is rude and huffy. I had a simple question about a prescription and was given a snarky response about how she doesn’t know and she’ll put a message on his desk and literally hung up on me. Dr. Alt and his staff make you feel welcome the moment you step into the practice. The staff is cheerful and treat you like family, and Dr. Alt is informative, understanding, and in my experience took the time to answer all of my concerns.

Louisville has a lot of horrible drs, this is not one of them. Smart, Friendly, Compassionate, honest and he doesn’t milk the life out of insurance companies as most do. The Staff has never been rude to me and my phone calls have always been returned in a timely manner by dr alt himself and I was never rushed off the phone. He spent atleast 15 min talking to me over the phone trying to help and he doesn’t get paid for that. Who else does that in 2018? Not Norton’s. Not Kentucky one health. Not u of l. (If some is unhappy with this practice, I’d love to see their review on those places bc I’ve actually been) The same lady has been at the front desk for years and has always been nothing short of awesome, super friendly and as nice as a person could be. I’m disabled and have been seen by several dozen (maybe over a hundred) drs in my life, I wouldn’t know what else someone would expect out of a practice. The negative reviews must come from a place of ignorance. Dr alt is and has been an asset to the city and the local medical community. He is a wonderful dr who maintains a great practice. Had a EMG this morning and was completely freaked out by the idea of it all. While not completely pain free, it was absolutely not worth the worry I put myself through. Dr Alt's demeanor was pleasant and put me at ease. He did not rush me through the test and allowed me to take a break. Not even sure the break was necessary, but I can easily get myself worked up when needles are involved. Overall I would recommend his services.
