After my visit with Dr. Abidin I have never felt worse. I went in for a nose job and came out with constant bleeding in my ears. Not to mention the bleeding every few days once a month down undah in my hoohah. Insane! Picheal SABIDDEN completely botched and stretched out my nostrils making the hairs sag and ooze out of it. The wait time took longer than an episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race but lacked any of the rainbow magic and excitemnt that the show had. I had terrible experience with my deviated septum & sinus surgery done by Dr. Abidin. Not only he did not fix my deviated septum, he did an aggressive surgery that created more problems that are irreversible. Please do thorough research if you are going to get septoplasty, or turbinectomy. I regret my decision.

In fairness to the doctor, I never met him due to my appointment being canceled an hour after waiting in the reception area, due to arriving 10 minutes late. The experience was awful and I’m posting this in anger at the office management, considering I drove almost an hour to make this appointment. I saw Dr. Abidin in 2006. He explains things well. I had a good experience with ear surgery. I now live in the Philadelphia area and have consulted 3 doctors and haven’t get my nose ear problems solved. So I decided to come back and see Dr. Abidin. Great doctor!

I visited Dr. Abidin because I had a problem with phlegm sitting in my throat for a few years. He examined me, said I had a deviated septum & sent me for a CT Scan. I visited with him several times & he kept informing me that my nasal passages were "a mess". He performed the following surgeries on me: Endoscopic Sinus Sgy, Septoplasty, Inferior Turbinectomy, Nasal Valve Repair. That was in 10/2020 & he kept having me come back for follow ups & I still have the phlegm. He recently told me that I need more surgery now & would need more surgery in the future. I went for a 2nd opinion to an Otolaryngologist Surgeon at Georgetown University Hospital. He reviewed the Ct Scan & said I did not need all those surgeries. I just had a mild deviated septum. After more tests it was discovered that I have Laryngopharyngeal reflux which needs to be treated with medication. I went through unnecessary surgery & would have gone through another surgery if I had not sought a 2nd opinion.

Dr. Abidin is not only a brilliant physician but also a truly 'good', kind and caring human being. It is obvious that he truly CARES about his patients. He immediately diagnosed and then took care of my lifelong sinus problems, causing multiple bouts of bronchitis every year, and I am always delighted to refer relatives and friends to him because I know they not only will be in most excellent hands but also will LOVE this man as we do. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment!

Dr. Abidin has definitely went above and beyond his due diligence for me. I went to him and in a matter of a day he was able to perform a successful surgery and recommend further assistance. He is very personable, and talks in terms that are clear and understanding. Not to mention he has a great sense of humor. He’s just well rounded and I’m glad I found him.

Dr. Abidin is excellent ! He takes time listen to you, and takes time to explain things to you: problems you may be suffering from, treatments that you may need to undergo to correct your problems, and their order of importance. He monitors you before, during, and after any surgeries or procedures to ensure that you are healing properly. He “thinks outside of the box” looking at your body as a system of subsystems working together - not just focusing with “tunnel vision” on an individual problem - to see how other problems can result from a related problem, that may not have been tested for, yet. If need be, he consults with other medical specialists to help resolve your problems. I was recommended to him through two other specialists treating me for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and am extremely happy that I followed up with Dr. Abidin ! He has a great support staff. I have known Dr. Abidin (Dr. Mike) since just after he put out his shingle in Alexandria. Back in the day, he was highly regarded by the old guard as the 'that hotshot kid from Hopkins'. He's a great doc. Patient & professional. Great manner. My wife found him very reassuring after my first surgery. He also has enough of a sense of humor to dress like the Hulk at Halloween. Dr Abidin operated on me for a rare esophageal condition with serious complications. I consider him a skilled surgeon whose level of communication and accessibility is exceptional.

I am so encouraged by our visit with Dr. Abidin at Metro ENT. My husband was experiencing episodic events of dizziness and sinus symptoms which were worsening. He came to see Dr. Abidin for an evaluation and Dr. Abidin performed numerous in- house tests. Much to our relief, Dr. Abidin prescribed a simple medication and determined that he did not need any type of surgery. We highly recommend Dr. Abidin and his entire team.

I visited Dr. Abidin for a persistent sinus issue and a swollen lymph node on my neck. Dr. Abidin performed a quick examination of my nasal passage and immediately declared I have a deviated septum that needs to be operated on to solve my sinus issue. He assured me he has successfully operated on thousands of patients. I asked about my swollen lymph node and he shrugged his shoulders and said that it was probably caused by the nasal drainage. I asked whether I have nasal polyps and he answered yes without hesitation. He then sent me off with a CT scan prescription. My gut instinct tells me I need to seek a second opinion before committing to any type of surgery. The second doc told me I have a mild deviated septum that requires no surgery and he found no nasal polyps. However, he was concerned about my swollen gland and sent me to get a needle biopsy instead. Anytime someone wants to open you up, consider getting a 2nd opinion. Always listen to you gut. When in doubt, verify!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Abidin since March of 2004. He performed my sinus surgery that year and my sleep apnea surgery in 2006 that basically saved my life. Since then has taken care of my Dad with his sinuses issues, my Mom with her ear and sinus issues, and both of my nieces with their sinus issues. He is without the best doctor I have ever met and seen in my life. He is extremely talented and intelligent and diagnosed another issue that I have when other specialist had no clue and couldn't determine the cause of my illness. Dr. Abidin is very caring and compassionate and has become a great friend. I have recommended him to many members of my family and friends all who have come backed to me and thanked me endlessly for pointing them his direction! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Abidin to anyone out there suffering with any ears, nose or throat issue!!!

I had terrible experience with my surgery by Dt. Abidin. I had sinus and devoated septum surgery. Not only I still have deviated septum but I ended up with severe nerve damage and turbinate dysfunction that has made lifr living hell. Look up empty nose syndrome before doing any surgery to your nose. I was not told risk of empty noae syndrome. I regret my decision

Dr Abidin is super relatable and takes all anxiety out of addressing health concerns. An incredibly skilled doctor not only in surgery but bedside manner. He performed sinus surgery on me and Recovery has been a breeze. Absolutely no pain, no swelling, and no bruising! Just an awesome doctor all around.

Dr. Abidin has been seeing our family for nearly 25 years and he has consistently been very attentive and provides excellent care. He is top notch!!

He is a personable, intelligent, caring professional who was able to fix my issue the first time with near zero side effects. I absolutely recommend him if you have any E, N, or T issues.

Dr. Abidin is stellar. His team bent over backwards to see me prior to starting an MBA, and with a limited timeframe, he was able to fit me in for several consultations, a CT scan, and balloon sinuplasty, within 3 weeks. That's unheard of for a specialist of Dr. Abidin's caliber. Dr. Abidin was caring, patient, thorough, and had a very welcome sense of humor. He even battled my insurance company for me. I have referred countless patients to Dr. Abidin over the years for allergy treatment, frenum reductions, clogged eustachian tubes, and many other issues. He has always treated my referred patients very well.

I agree with Dr. Tammy! Dr. Abidin LITERALLY saved my life. I had lyme and no one could figure it out. No doctor wanted to treat me because i was too complicated for them and so far outside the box. But Dr. Abidin never left me; he continued to ask me to bring all tests to him so he can review them. He also cleared up 80-90% of my migraines with sinus surgeries. And he discovered my low immunity and got me on IVIG, which has literally saved my life. He also discovered my girls Lyme and he is truly a 10/10 doctor. Amazing bedside manner too!!! He's like a friend to us, as he's been treating my family for many years. I even put him down as our general doctor instead of family practice. I had seen 100 doctors before that were just not interested in helping me. So naturally my trust for doctors has slipped. But never in Dr. Abidin. Never. He's truly incredible. I too have referred so many people to him. I will continue to do that. He's truly saving lives. He's not a cookie cutter doctor. I very highly recommend Dr. Abidin and his amazing team. They are just incredible. Dr. Abidin has a wonderful bedside manner, he is very patient, kind and explains everything in detail. He has a fun upbeat personality and he makes you feel very comfortable at all times. He performed surgery on my neck and throat just this morning. I have had many surgeries and I can honestly say this entire experience was amazing and the best experience I’ve had. I was so comfortable and happy with the entire process. I came to Dr. Abidin having had 2 previous sinus surgeries. He recommended that I have another and explained the procedure and how he did it different and better than everyone else. After my surgery I healed quickly and my stuffy nose issues were solved at last. I still had lingering allergies after that that I took sinus drops and shots for that may have not been needed. Some of the office staff is great, but I had some billing issues with others and concerns they were upselling me so be aware.

Nice enough fellow, but charged way too much--$33,000 to insurance, and over $4,000 to us-- for an in-office treatment that only worsened my wife's condition. The treatment was just not helpful. Billing staff then took three months to mail us the bill, did so only after repeated calls, and then tried to blame us for not paying on time. I would not recommend. Dr. Abidin performed surgery to remove the bags under my eyes and the sack of loose skin under my chin. The operation was quick, relatively painless and more than a year after the procedure I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Dr. Abidins manner was such that I had complete trust in his ability to produce the results I wanted and that trust was not misplaced. I would add that the cost of the procedure was far less than I had expected. He's also a really nice guy I'd highly recommend.

Simply, Dr. Michael R. Abidin is the BEST. My wife has been suffering from severe sinuses for years & years on daily basis. Dr. Abidin performed a small surgery with consistent follow ups. Thank GOD she is wayyyyy better and the pain is gone. It was a very hard decision for us to make but we trusted his judgement and everything went well. What I really admire about Dr. Abidin is his generosity and patience. Although our insurance was expired,the Dr.was able to see my wife twice with no charges

Great doctor. Dr Abidin doesn't stop until he's fixed your illness/complaint. Our entire family (6 adults) has been his patient for allergies, chronic sinus problems, surgeries etc over the last 12yrs; nothing was ever left unresolved. The entire staff and other doctors at Metro ENT are all great as well.
