Mica K Newman-Koehn

I saw Dr. Newman from 1990 to 2016-2017 when she practiced in Marshall, MO as did my mom. She is hands down the only doctor I would trust. Very caring and I was heartbroken when found out she was moving to Topeka. I also have friends who loved her as well. 5 star rating is not high enough to me!

Patients with mental illness, AVOID THIS DOCTOR LIKE THE PLAGUE. newman-koehn is headstrong and flat out rude. She fails to take my multiple diagnosed mental illnesses seriously and refuses to change my medications when I say they’re not working for me. She said I was too fat already and she didn’t want me gaining any more weight from any other antidepressants, and instead suggested that I just check myself into a mental hospital. Worst experience I have ever had.

I would not recommend this Doctor. Her nurse was very nice. I went for a meet a greet and she refused me as a patient. She didn't think we would be a good fit as I guess she didn't like what another Doctor's office said about me when I refuse an MRI with they dye. She first tried to make excuses as was too hard to work with my pulmonologist since he was Stormont vail. Never heard such nonsense before, no other doctors have ever had that issue when I had pulmonologist in Lawrence. The Pulmonologist never had issues with doctors being in Topeka and different then them. I was cooperative enough to show up and get bill for the office visit... so she got paid and I got my time wasted so who was not cooperative here? I am mostly likely better off for it as her reviews not that great. I would've preferred she decided that before making me waste my work leave and time coming in. But of course some think they God, and their time is too valuable to look us before coming in.

She has been excellent when providing for my health care needs. I feel very privileged to have found her after my other doctor retired.

I found her to be inattentive to notes in my file, willing to ignore the information that was gathered by the nurse, and not at all willing to invest in me as a patient. Her lack of attention to me as an individual made our appointments a waste of time for the both of us. For these reasons I will be looking for a new and more attentive doctor elsewhere.

After many months of going from one doctor to another and having test after test with no results, we found Dr. Newman-Koehn. She listened to the concerns and immediately ordered the test needed to find the problem. She is compassionate and understanding. She personally called to answer any questions and followed up after surgery. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a family physician.
