Dr. Montgomery performed an appendectomy on my 12 year old last June. We came in in the middle of the night with my son throwing up and in pain. He was very polite and very practical with our questions. He made my son feel comfortable. My son healed well. Thank you.

Dr, Montgomery performed my surgery last year. He is a great guy and he was very friendly and took great care of me.

Dr.Montgomery is a brilliantly skilled surgeon. That, in itself, would merit a high recommendation. But he also possesses excellent bedside manner. His strong faith and kind approach when I needed it most was very appreciated. A++++!

Dr Montgomery did emergency surgery on our 7 year old for an appendectomy. We were very pleased with his bedside manner and skill. Our son is home healing and his surgery went flawlessly.

I went to see Dr. Montgomery because my PCP was concerned that I might have a hernia. Because I don't have a car, my MH/IDD counselor took me to my appointment. Dr. Montgomery did not speak to me at first, he spoke to her. He assumed that I was intellectually disabled without speaking to me. (For the record, I have bipolar disorder, not Down's Syndrome.) I had to specifically ask him to address me, not her. While he did begin actually speaking to me, he talked to me like I was a base born moron. I described my symptoms and he palpated my stomach for a moment before completely dismissing my concerns. He told me that what I was describing was rare and that it couldn't possibly be what was wrong with me. I felt ignored, disrespected, and ashamed. He made me feel like I wasted his time. Then he expected me to pray with him. I had a barium swallow ordered by my PCP which showed that Dr. Montgomery was wrong. He misdiagnosed me. I did in fact have a hiatal hernia. My discomfort and pain was real and valid. I didn't deserve his condescension. I didn't deserve the shame I felt. I do not recommend Dr. Montgomery to anyone who needs a surgeon with compassion. I do not recommend him to anyone without getting a second opinion because he doesn't take your symptoms seriously if you may have something rare. Excellent bedside manner. Explained the illness and procedure clearly. Attentive postoperative care.

So happy with Dr. Montgomery. He was able to diagnose a rare complication caused by a prior C-section, preformed by a different doctor. Before seeing Dr. Montgomery I was misdiagnosed 3 times. He suspected before surgery what was wrong, and biopsy confirmed his prediction. He was able to use my previous scar as not to make a new one. He was very informative of everything that would happen and willing to answer my one million questions about everything. I wish I could see him as my pcp!! Hopefully I don't ever have to have surgery again but if I do, I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff in his office and OR were also very accommodating and friendly. My grandfather also saw him for a colonoscopy and was very happy with him. So happy with Dr. Montgomery. Dr. Montgomery is an amazing surgeon. A trip to the ER turned into surgery. When I met him he had the best bedside manners answered all my questions. The willingness to pray before surgery made my experience even better. It gave me total confidence. When I went to his office for my check up I noticed a picture of a surgeon and our healer on the wall. This also made my experience with Dr. Montgomery even more personable because he cares about each and everyone of his patients.

For a recent emergency surgery procedure, Dr. Montgomery took the time to explain exactly what was happening, what the choices were and what surgery would mean. He took the time to understand what questions we had and addressed each one of them thoroughly. My husband's surgery was a success and the followup by Dr. Montgomery was thorough and thoughtful. He truly cares about his patients and is with them every step of the way. Excellent at putting our minds at ease and very straight forward.

I was looking for a great surgeon in Hanover pa, due to work injury and my wife Googled best general surgeon in our area and found Dr. Montgomery. Wound up bein very pleased with his knowledge, bedside manner and promptNess to help me. I had an inguinal hernia repair with precise work, minimum bruising and very courteous follow ups. His office staff have been extremely helpful with a smile every time, I hope to never need a general surgeon again but if I do, I hope it's with Dr. Montgomer

At 91 my mother had abdominal surgery for a bowel blockage done by Dr. Montgomery who was on call when she presented at the ER. I found him to be understanding & kind as well as clear and concise explaining mom's condition and her options. He has a gentle nature and compassion for his patients and their families - Mom is doing well and on the mend at a York rehab. We need more physicians like him - kindness is under-rated! He's a blessing to our community!
