Dr. Mary L Zupanc

She think she is god and want to play god with her patients and their parents. In the face of uncertainty of unknown seizures, she needs to learn to listen and respect the parents. I would never go to CHOC as long as this doctor is working there. And I would not recommend anyone to go there.

This doctor has lied to my face multiple times. Really goes to show not every doctor is a good doctor. Highly dissatisfied in such a short period of time. I knew right away she was dealing with her own insecurities. How people react tells so much more about them than anything. Not once did I feel like her primary concern was my child. Not once. Huge red flag!

Poor bedside manners. Doesn’t spend enough time with patients.

Mary Zupanc is one of the most arrogant physicians I've ever met. You just want to smack this woman in the face and say, "WAKE UP! SNAP OUT OF YOUR GOD COMPLEX!" Worst bedside manner you could ever imagine. DO NOT subject your child to this woman's condescending behavior. I wish I would have done my homework before ever consulting with her.

Dr Mary Zupanc is a highly egotistical Dr who believes she knows my child better than I do! She was cold and belittling in her demeanor. My child is allergic to several seizure medications that Mary Zupanc prescribed and she knew that! She threatened us with CPS if we didn't back off telling her about our child's history with allergies. She only appears interested in selling drugs, pumping our child full of drugs that my child has known allergies to!!! Out to harm our child! I hate her!! Completely incompetent doctor with a heart of stone that doesn't care about each individual child in front of her such as my child who suffered at the hands of her. She needs to have lawsuits against her for her abuse towards my child us parents. She shouldn't be a doctor.

Dr. Zupanc is the most compassionate and caring epileptologists I have ever known. She is also a unmatched genius when it comes to pediatric epilepsy and a miracle worker.

I heard so many decisions made by Dr. Zupanc that destroyed children's and their families life. My daughter was definitely one of them that almost got killed by over-dosage with medications that wasn't helping. Before I went to CHOC and felt comfortable, but after Dr. Zupanc took over children's epilepsy department, I don't feel safe to go to CHOC. She ruined CHOC epilepsy department's integrity and good name. I wish she is gone, so no more families will be hurt by this doctor.

Several unrelated patients were forced to take Depakote, an outdated medication which causes liver damages! At least three unrelated incidents of same firced Depakote doses ended up vomiting endlessly and some with clusters of seizures as well as grand mal seizures! Does CHOC not see how obvious Zupanc's malpractice is? What exactly are they waiting for? Zupanc has been pushing Depakote on the OC Hispanic unsuspecting community since 2011 when she landed in cal probably kicked out of Wisconsin hospitals! Other neurologists at CHOC are familiar with her reputation but fear her angry wrath just like she threatened patents with Cps posted on her vitals and CNN. The clock is ticking and it's only a matter of months for her to say goodbye to her license. Her NY TIMES article is a joke and a publicity stunt suggested by CHOC to save her but it's too late. Pls retire and save the children from this monster GodZzila! Dr. Mary Zupanc has given us a miracle. After 2 years at UCLA, 2900 seizures, 14 different medications and VNS Surgery, only Dr. Mary Zupanc at CHOC was able to control my son's seizures. He is coming back to us bit by bit. I am forever grateful.

Horrible !!! I can't belive she's the director of Pediatric Neurology @ CHOC . I requested for my 8yr old son to have a different Neurologist than Dr. Minodora Totoiu due to Many reasons. After 4-5 yrs and not agreeing with care I believe a patient should have the right to change Neurologist but you DON'T at Choc. You are told to go to a meeting and you give your reasons which they are by pass. Dr.Zupanc was interrupting me while I try to explain so rude and made me question her brain. ?? ??

Dr. Zupanc is one of the best pediatric epileptologists in the world. if you want your child diagnosed, treated, seizures free, cured, or your child's life saved , seek her out. If you want warm fuzzies, "all natural" treatments, go elsewhere. Those who are serious, see her. I trust her with my child's life and would refer her unequivocally. For those who don't appreciate her direct approach, your comments are stalling treatment for others, possibly costing lives, be responsible.

Dr. Zupanc was a Godsend to my son when he was 6 months old at children's hospital of Wisconsin. She was his neurologist for about 10 years. She is definitely an expert in her field, scheduled plan of cares meetings with us and all the doctors long before parents were welcomed on rounds at the hospital. She is one of the most compassionate doctors I know. She would pick up my son when he was a baby and hold him, she truly cared about my son, her devotion to her patients was endless.

Best doctor ever! after years of uncontrolled seizures. Dr.Z came in turned the tables and on a road of seizure free.....

extremely knowledgeable and willing to go far for treating difficult to treat epilepsy. she is not the calming, comforting doctor most expect from a pediatric specialist, but she is perhaps the best in the country if you want accurate diagnosis and patient matched management.
