I had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing Dr .. , she was the first neurologist I visited after being diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy. She offered no explanations, only conversed with her student doctors and when I asked her what kind of treatment I could get for my chronic fatigue, exercises etc. She told me that unlike me, their are patients with severe treatments. And left it at that. Basically, just because Iâm not yet physical incapacitated I canât see a physiotherapist who could help me with exercise to slow down further damage, atrophy and pain, or medication to help with chronic fatigue from MD. She made me feel undeserving and worthless. What was the point of my visit? Instead of feeling hopefull, I left completely despondent about the future of my health. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Her response to my request for help still haunts me to this day.
