I will NEVER refer anyone to Verhey. He has NO empathy, NO "bedside manner" to speak of. With my spine pain, he recommended stretching/yoga, which I am unable to do. I asked him for pain medication and he stood up, turned his back on me and (as he walked out of the room) said "I am unable to help you. Have a nice day." I have reported him to Centura and to my health insurance company. He's the worst - and I waited TWO MONTHS to see this guy!

Perhaps due to the plethora of procedures he has done, Dr. Verhey appears to lack patience when people question a specific procedure's risks vs. benefits. A wee bit desensitized perhaps? I firmly believe that on the morning of 7/16/19 I would have felt ok about my decision to leave the outpatient clinic had we parted ways on the previous note he uttered: "It seems like you're not ready for this, therefore take some time to think about it and come back and see us when you are" (not verbatim but that was the gist of it). Instead, because I probably tried his patience by asking about the risks of particulate vs. non-particulate corticosteroid epidural steroid injections and wanted to know which one he uses (particulate it turns out), his demeanor went from general bonhomie to pettiness. He literally told me that spondylolisthesis is caused by weak core muscles. [I have spondylolisthesis L5/S1, stenosis probably caused by the pars fracture that occurred at some point in my life, and osteoarthritis of the spine (spondylosis).] At that point my mood flipped to one of complete outrage. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge of this condition would know that it can be congenital and MANY athletes are afflicted with it. Do not tell me they have poor core strength, ok? That's absurd! I am still a lithe, 6ft / 147 lb, 53 y/o woman who can STILL touch her palms to the floor despite the pain (on a good day only)! I was an athlete and did all manner of sports to include squash, dressage, show-jumping, swimming, athletics,... My last stint was in 2017 whereby exercising just increased the pain levels instead of improving them despite incorporating strength training! I could do abs better than many of the members my age and even younger! I have good core strength. That was insulting to me! Made me see red actually. I guess he wanted to get me out of there, therefore resorted to a petty attack suggesting my predicament is MY fault!! PT, chiropractic, yoga, pilates ....I've done it all to no avail. I lost all respect for him in that instant. So many doctors are arrogant. They don't know everything about every condition. Granted he is an expert on spinal anatomy, but not apparently about everything despite having had 2 transforaminal ESI procedures himself (so he said). What's wrong with your core then Dr.? The low blow was not appreciated. I won't be back. DR Verhey an excellent person to have on a surgical team.

On the day of my injection I needed to go to the bathroom. Instead of waiting for me to go to the bathroom, he wanted to hurry up and do the procedure first. I feel he rushed me.

I really like this specialist. he is kind and knowledgeable. I got in when they could help me and but it went smooth and i like the staff. they are patient and understanding.

Dr.Verhey is very kind and knowledgeable,his injections last a long time and his staff are great too.

I love Dr Verhey and his staff. They all have always treated me with respect and kindness, along with taking care of me pain.

Spent two weeks trying to schedule an appointment just to have the staff tell me that the service I need isn't provided by their clinic. You could have told me that when I initially called not after having me send the referral over twice, having the referring physical call and send over additional notes, and telling me that your office is busy so you will call me in a few days TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND WHEN YOU DID CALL BACK IS WHEN YOU SAID YOU DON'T PROVIDE THE SERVICE I NEED! Total waste of my time and now I get to live with this terrible pain even longer. Very professional, Dr. Verhey has done a few of my steroid injections and I've never had a problem. First time I had one I was very nervous but he calmed me down easily and now they're not so stressful.

Dr. Verhey Is kind, Compassionate and understands the difficulty of chronic pain. Easy to talk to and he explains the procedure well. Excellent treatment by this doctor and staff.

I tried to get an appointment with Dr Verhey and it was absolutely terrible! Even with a proper referral, they still wanted more paperwork from my referring physician. After my physician called and sent over the additional requested documents his staff said they would call me in a week to schedule and appointment!!! So, when they did call, they said "we are sorry sir but we don't offer the service that you need". You could have told me that when I initially called! Very unprofessional.

I have tried to get into see Dr Verhey for several months. ( Like since Aug. of 2016!) Experiencing some severe pain, headaches, and a lot more only to get treated like I don't exist. Sent in the information requested and no response as to whether or not they even received it even after the lady I spoke with said she would let me know. I called several times and asked for them to call me back so I could set an appt. and I have heard nothing! The phone has only been answered like 2 times when I have called, aside from that I get an answering machine. If you are looking to get treated through this facility, forget it. Its not going to happen because they obviously don't need your business! Not sure what has happened to the medical field but they no longer care to help people as they vowed when they graduated. Dr. Verhey is the greatest and a godsend. Every time after my epidurals (and I've had many) my back pain is gone within 1 - 2 weeks. He is very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Dr. Verhey to anyone needing epidurals.

Best relief ever for herniated/torn disks. His bedside manner is among the best in the business. Those that complain are usually drug seekers who don't like what they hear. My insurance changed my pain management specialist from Dr. Verhey to a different hospital and the difference was day and night. Very little relief and chronic insomnia days after the procedure. Recently I was fortunate to be referred back to Dr. Verhey for treatment and it has been a godsend.
