Would never go to anyone else. No nonsense. Attentive. Explains conditions. Have recommended several friends. Highly skilled. Utilizes PT (some don't!).
I was a FDNY FF in 2003. I jumped off the second story of a setback and landed in Concertina wire. The razor wire severed my right hand, index finger, adductor muscle, wrist and forearm. After seeing several doctors who basically said,”we can fix your index finger in a static position forever”. I then consulted with Dr. Posner who said he could get the finger working again. Well he did, without any discomfort, or immobility. My finger 18 years later is as good as it was prior to my accident. Kudos to you sir. Dr.Posner is truly a genius when it comes to issues with the hand. I recommend him to anyone with a problem with the hand. I was a FDNY FF in 2003. 2006 I dislocated & broke my wrist at a fire (I am FDNY firefighter) and had complication with my hand. Dr. Posner was my surgeon & did an amazing job getting me back to functioning with my hand. Just a great Doctor & surgeon. Really cared about my well being & gave me all the information on my injury and what was going to take place.

A very long time ago, I was in a bike accent in Woodstock NY where the hand brake took the top of my right hand off. I went to many ER's and they all said the same thing 'amputation' I waited 12 hours to be treated since it was a Sat night and once I got to Lenox Hill, they knew from the x-rays there was only 1 Dr who could help, Dr Posner. My parents signed amputation papers and were having a really hard time dealing with this. I was an Art major and Art was my life! Dr Posner attemped to make me fingers from the skin on my arm, anticipating another sugery a couple of days later which would be amputation. They really thought Gang Green set in from the hours untreated. It didn't! and the deal with the Doc was he made me fingers and I would paint him a painting! We both lived up to our agreement! The amazing thing is, now old I developed advance RA. The fingers he made me are not affected but the other 2 are. Thank you Dr Posner. I wish you could now do something with the other two!

very lucky, considering my poor insurance, to see the Dr. - A testament to his Hippocratic Oath. More than I can say of the other 90% in his profession. A master - he's been doing it many years. Personable, charming, thorough. My only contention were my post surgery follow-up visits, nearly less than 5 minutes spent. Not sure if this was due to insurance, or his nature. Another, was the near unendurable, agonizing, 10+ pain experienced post surgery in hospital. Fault of hospital? Or dr.?
It has been many years since I had surgery with Dr. Posner however, he was the most talented hand surgeon in NYC. My sister had to have surgery on both thumbs due to a skiing injury and I also had to have surgery on my right thumb due to a ski injury. At the time I was a professional guitarist that performed 5 nights a week and was worried about losing the flexibility in my right hand. Needless to say he did a great job and I was able to regain the use of my thumb.
