I visted Dr. Terlecki about my osteoporosis. She was extremely intelligent, very knowledgeable and the illness and treatments. She was also a very kind and caring person who spent time explaining everything to me. I highly recommend her.

Excellent physician but an hour wait first thing in the morning is ridiculous.

Dr. Terlecki is amazing! She takes so much time with you whether it's in person or virtually. I've been seeing her for many years now, after my thyroid was removed. She truly is a gem. I hope she never retires.

Terrible, judged me from the moment I walked in. Very Demeaning. She came highly recommended from our Pediatric Endocrinologist. Horrible experience.

Dr. Terlecki is NOT a thyroid-literate endocrinologist. Her go-to in all situations is to remove or destroy the thyroid and to put patients on synthetic thyroxine. Her ideas about thyroid dysfunction, thyroid autoimmune disorders, and thyroid cancer are dangerously outdated, and she directs patients to a particular lab (Petroglyph) where the pathologist tends to push complete thyroidectomy, too. She tried to push me to surgery, saying the odds of a nodule in my thyroid “turning into cancer” were extremely high. This turned out to be false. Fortunately, I decided to have my biopsy and pathology done at UNM, so I managed to save my thyroid and avoid being dependent on prescription synthetics for the rest of my life. Dr. Terlecki’s assistant called me several times trying to dissuade me from having my biopsy done elsewhere, even telling me it wouldn’t be covered by my insurance. This also turned out to be false and it was covered 100%. Since then, I’ve met three other people who were diagnosed with thyroid cancer or a supposed precancerous condition by Dr. Terlecki and Petroglyph and later found out they never had cancer at all, just small amounts of Hurthle cells in the thyroid sample that were in what most pathologists would have called normal range. (These are the type of cells some thyroid cancers are made of, but there are some of them knocking around in most people’s thyroids and they never become cancer. Current thinking is that, in small amounts, they’re actually part of healthy thyroid function.) I really wonder how many of her patients weren’t lucky or informed enough to be able to get a second opinion, had their thyroids taken out, and will never know they were misdiagnosed. Some people may be misled by this doctor’s warm and fuzzy affect and her persistent cancer fear-mongering, but this is a very egocentric and irresponsible physician. I had an appointment for over 5 months to see Dr. Terlecki only to have her office call and canceled my appointment days before my visit. I doubt Dr. Terlecki has any idea what torture I'm going through. No explanation other than her office is not seeing patents at this time due to Covid19, yet they are happy to make an appointment just to dash any hope of help. Now you understand why the suicided rates are up. Dr. Terlecki I hope you see this review. Dr. Terlecki is the first Dr. who has truly validated my feelings and offered some solutions. She went beyond the normal labs to find the underlying cause. So many Docs have made me feel like my problem is in my head. I am so grateful to Dr. Terlecki for acknowledging the hormonal issue that is likely at the root of many of my symptoms and offering me some real solutions and not just a band aid for my symptoms. I went to Dr. Terlecki for years. I was quite unhealthy and ill when I first went to see her. I can honestly say she and my cardiologist saved my life. I was discharged (cured) and miss her to this day whenever I am sick. She was kind and compassionate and very knowledgeable. One of the best doctors around. You wait a long time to see her, but she will also call you with lab results in the evening at home.

It has been a long time since I've been a patient of Dr. Terlecki, but I went to her for nearly 15 years. She is fantastic and was obsessive (as in OCD) in looking after my prior thyroid issues (papillary cancer). She discovered a recurrence after 17 years. She took a personal interest. For some that might not score her 5-stars, she might seem quiet or appear disinterested but I would attribute that to her wanting the patient to care as much about their health as she cares. Regardless, even though I'm now 1700+ miles away, if I needed her, I could go to her and get help. Five stars all day long!!

Dr. Terlecki is one of the biggest reasons I hate going to see doctors. She is rude, unkind, and unresponsive. I went in to see her and waited over 45 minutes for after my scheduled appointment time to see her. When I expressed my concerns to her, she basically stated that I was crazy and nothing was wrong with me and there was nothing she would do to help me. It was an absolute waste of my time and gave me even more anxiety about seeing doctors because like many other doctors, she Is arrogant and refuses to listen to anyone but herself.

Dr. Terlecky was very cold and uncaring. She barely had time for me to talk to her. She stated that she treated everybody the same. But I found out from my therapist who was seeing Dr. Terleki that she treated my therapist completely differently than she did me. I have no idea why. But I would warn you to find a better Internal Medicine doctor. Such as Dr. Robert Galligan.. For some reason he is not listed here. Sorry if I didn't spell names correctly. In a nutshell, I would say that Dr. Terleki is the worst doctor I have ever had.

7 yrs. ago I saw Dr. Terlecki with symptoms of hypothyroidism. She told me after my labs came back "within normal range" she said the symptoms were just me "getting old". She then found a goiter (enlarged) thyroid. I had a non toxic nodular thyroid diagnosed after an ultrasound and needle biopsy. After seeing different speciality doctors and more labs I was diagnosed by default with fibromyalgia and continued monitoring my thyroid by my new endocrinologist. I am a nurse practitioner and knowledgeable about these matters and referred many of my patients to her before this experience. I will never refer another person to her. My wife was seeing this doctor for 6 years. They were very very amicable and helpful. There was often a wait, but I do feel one often sees that at a specialist's office. The nurse we saw was always great to us and friendly. However, we were treated very rudely by their receptionist (older lady with a bob) the last time we went in for an appointment. They had apparently changed to accepting only insurance and no self pay/out of pocket pay. We were not informed of this, no email or call, even though they knew we did it that way as our insurance didn't cover her. The reminder call didnt tell us and the email reminder we had received 3 days prior even listed self pay as an option still. But the lady would not discuss anything further, being very curt and short. She even scoffed at us when we asked if they had a similar specialist they could recommend. So we left. On returning home, we went to log in to the health portal to view the recent lab work we were supposed to discuss at the appointment only to find in the 10 minute drive home that they had deactivated her health portal. She could not email the DR or see her lab work or get any past health records. We called and got someone else, a different reciptionist, who seemed shocked about the situation but did not help fix it. She said they could mail the new lab work and wished us luck. (We have as of yet, 2 weeks, not even received that lab work.) It often takes 3 to 4 months to schedule an appointment with these specialists. We had this appointment for a year and are now scrambling to find a new doctor unexpectedly last minute. If they accept your insurance, I will say that they are a good doctor with a nice nurse. Or at least, had been for us in the past. However, take warning! They could drop you just like that. My wife was seeing this doctor for 6 years. They were very very amicable and helpful. Best Dr I've ever seen. She is awesome, full of knowledge and when you have an health issues you want leave her office until she answers all your questions and makes a plan for future test. She is the best in Albuquerque no doubt.

She saved my life. Another doctor in Albuquerque did not tell me that I had Thyroid cancer. Dr. Terlecki found it and immediately sent me for an operation in Texas. I will never be able to thank her enough for her time and thoughtful care. You may have to wait in the waiting room but this is because she actually talks to you about your problem. I am now living in NY and have not found any doctor that can replace the fabulous Dr. Terlecki. She saved my life. Another doctor in Albuquerque did not tell me that I had Thyroid cancer. I highly recommend Dr. Terlecki, she is brilliant, wonderful and very very compassionate and knowledgeable. Bring a good book, it sometimes takes forever to ne taken back...But she’s in high demand!

Dr. Terlecki is wonderful! She took the time to go over my lab and ultrasound results. She educated me and answered all my questions. Her nurse is just amazing! Outstanding professional endocrinologist, extremely knowledgeable and communicative, as well as caring.

Absolutely wonderful experience. She took extra time to make certain that I fully understood everything and answered all questions. I can highly recommend Dr. Terleki if you need an endocrinologist.

I have found Dr Terlecki to be compassionate, attentive, and thorough. Can't recommend her enough. The nursing and office staff were also very nice and highly competent.

Dr. Terlecki is ok and I have known her and seen her for years, but the office staff is not friendly and borderline rude and nasty. It is not an isolated incident and I can only assume that the attitude is directed by management and thus it must be Dr. Terlecki or Dr. Edwards themselves that foster this attitude. Billing practices are harassing. I would not recommend.
