My son has been a patient of Dr. Trachtman's since birth, Dr. Trachtman had started treating my son in the NICU of LVH.. Being born premature he needed special care, even after my son turned 18, 5 years ago, this doctor insisted my son remain his patient. We have never had a problem, yes, the waiting times are often longer than you would like but it is only because this man took special care NOT to miss any possible threats to his patients eyesight, he has been a Blessing to us and we will miss him terribly, he is like "family" to us, both him and Jane.. Well I hear he is either retiring or is already retired, thank God. He does come highly recommended, and seems to be a nice guy, but for anyone looking for an eye doc for their child, I would not deal with him. If you’re reading this Mark, you lied to other doctors, and you lied to us. This will come back again. Debra Jennsen is your enemy, and she really put you in a bad spot, but you went along with her, why? I have no idea, I assume she threatened you somehow. This needs to be rectified, and it will be in court. You need to realize that when you hurt a child, and you lie for no good reason, it will be taken care of by lawyers that actually know the law, and medicine. I called in AUGUST to schedule an appointment for my son,who has an eye condition. The soonest the office could fit us in was DECEMBER, which I thought was ridiculous. So we waited months for this appointment. Three days prior to the appointment, the office calls to tell us that they need to cancel his appointment due to the doctor being out on medical leave. They told us rescheduling or being placed on a waiting list was not possible at this time due to uncertainty as to when the doctor would be returning. The fact that no other staff was able to step in and see my son is completely unacceptable, especially after waiting months. For a past appointment we waited forever in the waiting room before being seen. Waiting seems to be the theme of this office. I am extremely disappointed and will be looking into other options for my son; we will not be coming here in the future. Outstanding physician. Fabulous staff. After reading others comments about their experiences with crying hysterical children, I felt compelled to give an outstanding review. It is not easy to deal with baby 's eyes while they are squirming around. If they weren't held down, nothing could be accomplished. Worse place , also worse experience I had ever went threw, so disgusting the way they treat people, everytime my mother of my child left she was balling her eyes out, they held my son down and tried to pry his eyes open with her nails because he was scared and didn't want to open his eyes, they didn't even ask to touch my child, that place should be shut down. Please do not take a child to this place. I had to ask them to take their hands off my son, so I could leave. I honestly cannot put into words how awful he was with my child last week. We felt rushed, not able to ask any questions in regards to her diagnosis, basically pushed right out of the door as soon as we arrived. For being a pediatric ophthalmologist, he certainly wasn't good with my twenty month old. She was forced down by not one but two nurses, and even then he was rude to his employees as well. I feel bad for anyone going to this establishment, truly. The front desk people were delightful, though. That's the only reason this even has one star. She has a followup appointment scheduled, and in all honesty, if it weren't for being the ONLY pediatric eye doctor around, she wouldn't even go back. Dr. Trachtman is awesome and really good with my daughter but I just do not like the office. It is very small and we always have to wait a long time. I am trying to decide on rescheduling my daughters appointment with Covid happening and as I type this I have already been on hold for 25 minutes.

This man is literally the only eye Dr for kids in the area. I missed one appointment and when i called to reschedule, they basically told me that the Dr will call me back IF he wants to reschedule. I just don't recommend this type of treatment for anyone or your kid.

If I could give less than one star I would. Terrible experience. He did not have the correct medical information and when I kept asking about the CT scan he had the day prior (and the whole reason we were there) he kept saying “I don’t know anything about a scan!!!) they were extremely impatient and unkind to my child who is 4, has had multiple brain surgeries, was very sick that day and was very scared. Dr. Trachtman has been our family’s eye care specialist for 18 years. His level of medical expertise in the field of ophthalmology is unsurpassed and the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to each patient needs or concerns. There isn’t another practice of eyecare that we would ever consider for our family.

It was the most comprehensive eye exam I have had in 60 years. Very professional and competent staff and physician

Dr. Trachtman is amazing! He is very thorough and spends as much time with the patient as needed. My daughter has been going to him for the past 8 years and he has never disappointed. His staff are great as well. It is hard to find the whole package and he nails it. I highly recommended him without any reservation.

VERY DISAPPONTING NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED IN SUCH A RUDE MANNER. I had the liberty of meeting Dr tractman a few months back from a referral he has an awesome bedside manner and I love his interaction with the kids. My initial encounter with the Office Manager Rob Sauers not so much. During a recorded call with my Sauers with Geisinger and myself he became totally irate and unprofessional when I asked for and insurance to be elaborated on as Dr tractman wanted to do surgery on my child. As a active consumer and also one in the Medical field we would never treat any patient in that manner under any circumstance let alone a insurance issue. He thinks there is no one above him, and nothing can be done he's the last stop I couldn't let his action go without it being addressed. His lack of unprofessionalism accompanied by his rudeness and basic refusal to help was disrespectful, impractical and unethical . For no reason at all just because I conferenced a third party (geisinger into a call ) because I had been getting the run around and was looking for some resolve. I didn't see anything wrong with that and felt as thou I was well within my rights to do so. After being told several different things from several different people. The office staff at this practice were so rude to me when I called to follow up and schedule an appointment for my autistic son. I was given misinformation when I first called and they spoke to me with an attitude as if I'm ignorant, a bother, I'm causing a problem. The first person who answered basically told me my child has to wait more than a week to even get scheduled so he has to wait. I was appalled. Made an appointment, I thought great. I arrive at the practitioners office with my 5 year old child and go through the whole process, pay co-pay and everything. Obviously sit around and wait for them to call my child's name. Come to find out they had banned my kid from being seen from the only kids eye practitioner around. Horrible people in there. Dr. Trachtman is simply amazing with children. We took our oldest daughter to see him when she was 3 because her one eye kept turning in. We were not convinced that the 1st doctor we saw gave us a correct diagnosis. We followed Dr. Trachtman's advice and her eye was corrected and her vision is getting better. We decided to take our youngest daughter to see him as well when she started having trouble seeing the blackboard at school. Again, he was simply amazing. I had Dr. Trachtman for my double vision several years ago, He was excellent and fixed my problem with one visit. HOWEVER, I have learned that if you leave ANY doctor in that practice (and I saw at least 3 others), you are cut off from seeing ANY of them in the future. I did leave one doctor and chose to see another outside the practice. I recently contacted Dr. Trachtman because my vision was getting worse. I was (sadly) advised that I can no longer see ANY DOCTOR IN THE GROUP, because I was'cut' off once I switched! I think that is WRONG, but that is how it is!! Dr trachtman is absolutely amazing. We have been going there for my son since 2014 snd have no complaints. Yes the wait is long, bit if you want in my opinion the best pediatric eye doctor, you wait. It means he is busy and parents trust him. He has always made the exams fun and the staff has always worked with my son who has a speech delay. Never once did they give up or give me an attitude that the exam took an extra few minutes due to his speech. We moved to New Jersey a year ago and I travel the 45 minutes to keep him as my sons eye doctor instead of going to one closer. Dr T and his staff have always answered my questions snd never rush me out. My son will be getting surgury next Friday by Dr Trachtman and on his last appointment they answered all my questions happily and did not make me feel some sort of way with all my questions (some were definitely a little silly). I have a tremendous respect and appreciation for Dr Trachtman. His knowledge and wisdom of the eye is amazing. His chair-side manner and personality is phenomenal. He is caring and compassionate. He takes the time to explain things even if it needs to be repeated several times. I highly recommend him, especially if you are needing an ophthalmologist for your children's vision. I have also worked along side of him in the hospital setting while caring for his young and vulnerable patients. His work is exceptional. Best in the Valley for children's issues as well as for double vision issues in adults.

Dr. Trachtman was amazing! We had our first appt. Today and he has a system in place to keep the kids entertained, keep their attention, all while doing a thorough exam. Very skilled & friendly!

Excellent Dr and staff. Everyone was friendly and made the exams fun for my daughter. They took the time to answer any questions that I had and lessen my concerns. I’ve been to another pediatric ophthalmologist and Dr. Trachtman’s office and staff was by far more kid friendly. Highly recommended.

Great doc and staff. Professional and great with the kids. Prescribes corrective lenses only as a last resort. I would give five stars if not for the fact that we ALWAYS wait at least 30 minutes to be seen.

The wait in his office is definitely long - and the waiting room is often over-crowded and quite uncomfortable. The quality of the exam and the expertise of Dr. Trachtman is phenomenal, however. His staff is fantastic.

We have been coming to Dr. Trachtman for almost 18 years. Both of my children are his patients, and when I needed to have my eyes examined, he was my first and only choice. His office staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. The fact that he has Saturday hours is also a huge plus for college aged patients and kids involved in after school activities. No matter how busy Dr. Trachtman is, he takes his time with patients, makes your feel comfortable, and answers all of your questions.

Although we sometimes find that wait times are very long, Dr. Trachtman is absolutely the best for pediatric patients. Our daughter has been a patient of his for eight years and has always loved her appointments. We both feel very confident in his recommendations and expertise and wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

My child was having episodes of double vision and one eye was going in. Took her to the ER and had an MRI which was negative. They asked us to follow up with an eye doctor. I heard wonderful things about Dr. Trachman so I was happy to get an appointment the very next morning. He seemed very short and rushed with my daughter. He was actually arguing with her that she could see. He also told her that if she doesn't see the next step is going to the hospital for a needle in your back or eye. It was very inappropriate. He then asked my daughter to leave and told me she was lying and making it up because she wants glasses. He went as far to show me he can make one eye cross and that she duped the Ped ER dr's at Lehigh valley hospital. He then told me to lie to my daughter that she would be getting glasses. I left speechless. Never have I or my child been treated by a dr in such a way. Obviously the episodes kept happening so we took her to CHOP where we saw wonderful Nuerologists and optometrists. They figured out the correct diagnosis and we are relieved. I wish we never would have went to Dr Trachman. Dr. Trachtman was excellent with my one year old and her extremely nervous parents!!! He put us all at ease while also leaving me very confident in his ability. He took his time and answered each question without rushing us. His staff was terrific as well. The only problem was scheduling to get it. Honestly after seeing him I can understand the long wait. I should add, Our appt was non urgent but it was about 2 months out.
