Mark Sauerwein

I have been seeing Dr. Sauerwein for 5 or 6 years. He is very competent, considerate, kind and caring. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the fall of 2019. This was scary to me and Dr. Sauerwein engaged me in a serious discussion about my health. Since then, between a regimen of medications, exercise and healthy diet, I have lost 20% of my body weight, my glucose level is below 6% and I no longer have diabetes. Dr. Sauerwein has helped me with this change, celebrated my successes, supported me during my challenges and generally done a great job as my doctor. I highly recommend him for anyone that wants a great professional doctor.

Dismissive & unprofessional: -Doubted my rare but well-documented genetic disorder (in records for 25 yrs; diagnoses from OHSU & UW Genetics) -Hostile tone. 1st question: “Tell me everything you know about your condition” -Harshly critical of my female PCP's treatment plan -Reminded me “your biological clock is ticking,” irrelevant to appt -Did not mail add’l medical info as promised I was shuffled to him when my PCP cancelled last minute. Visit was to renew same Rxs I’ve had for 3 yrs.
