Dr. Mark Wiiliam Rose

I got referred from MGH urgent care. Within a day I got a call from Mark W. Rose and the lady ask me when do I want to schedule my appointment, I asked to the earliest available appointments. Since my mobility was restricted I wanted someone to see it asap. I was offered two dates 06/13/22 and I don't remember the next offered date. So I selected 06/13. (I don't received any text for the appointment scheduled) When I went there for my appointment they said I am not scheduled for today I am scheduled for next week. I requested if someone can see me today since my pain was not bearable, the lady rudely denied and said you have to come on the date you are scheduled, the pain that you are suffering form is not treated as a emergency so I cannot do anything for you now. I did not have a good experience with Dr.Rose. After the long wait and the multiple x-rays I had to undergo before I even saw him to tell him why I was there, his manner was abrupt and he conveyed a clear lack of interest in me as a patient. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Rose! He and his staff were kind, caring and professional! I suffered for years with pain in my right foot until I found Dr Rose! He diagnosed, treated and did surgery on me with great success! I can walk 4 or 5 miles a day now with no pain!! I’m so happy I found him and highly recommend him!

He rushed me and seemed Uninterested. sent Me away in a boot For a stress fracture. Pain got worse- I emailed and called but no one got back to me. Saw a different doctor and found out that Dr Rose had misdiagnosed me. Awful experience!!!!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Rose! After suffering for many years with pain in my right foot, I found Dr Rose! He diagnosed, treated and ended up doing surgery! He and his staff were kind, caring and professional! Today I can walk 4 or 5 miles with no pain! I’m very thankful I found him and highly recommend him!

I agree with many of these comments. I saw Dr. Rose for persistent foot pain lasting months. He talked with me for 10 minutes including asking me where I got my orthotics. His recommendation was "you have to live with the pain." Even more insidiously, Dr. Rose wrote in the Notes of my visit that I didn't check off how much alcohol I consume nor whether I am married. Those comments are inappropriate, gendered, patriarchal. It is obvious I do not have a drinking problem. Run away from this doctor. See his colleague Dr. Sganga who I went to next who said I likely have tendinitis. I have started PT.

Horrible. Felt like I was inconveniencing him. Rushed in & out. Didn’t go over xray or explain anything. Arrogant.

Dr. Rose came into the exam room with a glum expression. His demeanor was cold and nonchalant. My appointment was for persistent swelling in my feet. Dr. Rose asked me a few questions and examined my feet for maybe 2 minutes at the most. That was the ONLY option he gave recommended. I was stunned! My $18 co-pay visit was wasted for “medical advice” like that? Dr. Rose seemed bored and burned-out from his job. His dismissive, unacceptable recommendation was poor judgment.

I have seen Dr. Rose twice. Both times I felt rushed and like I was wasting his time. Having recurring foot pain due to old injuries, he last diagnosed me with bursitis and gave me a cortisone shot. After prodding him for long term solutions he gave none and when I asked about long term use of cortisone injections he basically dismissed me. When I tried getting in touch with him to follow up/ ask questions I never heard back. Not empathetic or kind and seemed like he genuinely didn't care.

I've seem Dr. Rose twice. The first time he was 45 minutes late and spent 10 minutes, did nothing, just said I should come back in 2 weeks. The second time he was 35 minutes late. I told them what the problem was and what needed to be done (this is a recurring issue I've had for years). He insisted on an x-ray. They did the x-ray and I got billed for over $200 for the x-ray that I didn't need. His being continually late shows his lack of consideration for his patients and he doesn't listen

I had a similar experience to another reviewer with Dr. Rose. I had a fractured foot and saw Dr. Rose. He barely looked at my foot and then recommended an elective surgery. I got a second opinion from an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon from one of the hospitals downtown. That doctor said he would absolutely not operate on the foot and he would be shocked if it didn't heal naturally. It did heal, in the same exact timeline that Dr. Rose said it would with elective surgery.

Stay away from this doctor!! He misdiagnosed me twice. He is surgery happy and his answer to everything is try the boot, see him in 2 weeks and if not better then will do surgery! He barely does a physical exam of the injury, does not go over the test results and misdiagnosed me on 2 separate occasions. Get a 2nd opinion!!!

Wonderful surgeon who gave me a "no surprises" experience with a torn plantar plate condition. State-of-the art surgical technique, great follow up, and a very successful outcome from surgery. Thank you, Dr. Rose!

His education and experience really shows. He is very down to earth and does not give only one option of treatment but does tell you what be thinks would be best for a treatment plan.

I had a pretty serious heel fracture and surgery gave me the best chance for full recovery. I chose Dr. Rose to do the surgery because he performs lots of foot surgery which is telling and he was an athlete in his day. We have similar passions for staying in shape and golfing - he knew how important a full recovery is to a high quality and happy life for me. The surgery went very well, and even though I still have a long road ahead I made a good decision selecting Dr. Rose to take care of me.
