Dr. Mark Edward Halstead

I do not remember how we found Dr. Halstead, but we saw him only once. We visited with my daughter to get her evaluated for pain related to her scoliosis and a possible PARS injury. I have to agree with what some others have said. He was extremely ARROGANT and DISMISSIVE. He absolutely had to make it known that he was the expert and we were not. He stopped just short of an eye roll when we asked our questions. We left disgusted, and sought treatment with a different doctor. Good doctors don't feel the need to shove their expertise in your face. Needless to say, we do not recommend him.

If I could give a 0 star review I would in a heart beat. I have been traumatized from visiting doctors due to my experience with him. I saw him with knee problems and appointment after appointment I was only ever sent to physical therapy. Even my physical therapists realized that I was only getting worse. My last straw was when He told me it was just a tight hamstring. I remember sitting in the car sobbing to my mom because he never took me seriously. I switched doctors and 2 weeks later after my initial visit with the new doctor I had knee surgery. I haven’t had any problems since surgery and it’s been 5 years. I also saw him for my concussion and he instructed me to go back to school WAY too early which caused so many issues for me. I have heard from other women in particular how they had bad experiences with him too. If I could give a 0 star review I would in a heart beat. I wish I could leave zero stars, I have never been so disappointed in any doctor or their assistant. My daughter and I waited for an hour in the exam room to never be told anything. We were never seen and his assistant couldn't tell me directly when we would be seen but it was some tech that did. While they cackled in the hallway my daughter was in pain and waiting to be seen. After an hour we left. No one had any concern. Ill give it up to the front desk ladies, yall were the only professional ones. Great Doctor! Professional. Knowledgeable. Caring. Always exceeds expectations!

Always the best experience here. We love that we can get in on short notice and x-rays are done on the spot and fast. The staff is great and Dr Halstead does a very good job explaining things and communicating with both parent and child.

Dr Halstead communicated with my daughter and was upfront with her about what the next steps were. The whole process from beginning to end was efficient, very organized and made everything a lot less stressful for the both of us.

Met with Dr. Halstead and was very happy with the meeting, conversation and resulting referral. He listened, answered my questions, was very communicative throughout the whole process. In addition to my experiences with him, I have had family members that have had to see him as well. In each and every case, we have been very happy with our interactions with him. Very knowledgeable doctor for children and adults with a conservative approach and great bedside manners! My entire family highly recommends Dr. Holstead!!

A Dr. who really seems to know what he's doing and actually care about his patients .He was compassionate, friendly, and patiently explained everything to me in terms I could understand .

He was compassionate and down to earth. A Dr. you can be confident knows what he's doing and actually cares about his patients. He did a very good job of patiently reviewing and explaining everything.

We first saw Dr. Halstead after my son sustained an ankle injury last fall, and again this week after my daughter fractured her wrist. I felt really confident in his knowledge and care for each of my children. He has a great, positive manner with kids and parents alike and gave us very timely service. I hope we don't have any more injuries, but if we do, we will definitely go to Dr. Halstead!

Dr. Halstead was very knowledgeable and helpful in treating my son's post concussion symptoms. We never felt rushed in our appointments and he encouraged status updates via email, answered all my questions and responded promptly. Several people told me Dr. Halstead was the best person to see for concussions in St. Louis and they were right!

Dr. Halstead took the time to not only listen completely but explained the problem in terms that were easy to understand. Great bedside manner. My daughter even understood everything he said.

Our 14 year old son was experiencing back pain. We visited Dr. Halstead after trying Chiropractic treatments that did not resolve the issue. Dr. Halstead ordered X-rays and later an MRI which identified the issue as a PARS stress fracture. We had our son rest for the first month as recommended and he went to physical therapy during the second and third month. Our son is in his final week of physical therapy and he's feeling great - no more back pain!

My daughter had a concussion from High School sports and Dr. Halstead was suggested by the school athletic trainer. He was recommended for his expertise and the ability to work with the HS trainer. I could not get out of that examining room quick enough. The MOST arrogant condescending man I have ever met. After speaking with other parents on the team that dealt with him as well, we all had the same negative experience. My daughter was completely uncomfortable with him.
