I think the doctor should spend more time with consultation post surgery followe ups

Five years ago my husband and I went to see Dr. Ciaglia, it was jammed packed at waiting room, this time I need left hand surgery that I walked into Dr. Ciaglia office still full house. Danielle is warm, kind and patient, what a wonderful service.

Dr. Ciaglia is the best of the best. He performed a wrist osteotomy 2.5 years ago after a displaced comminuted fracture 2 years prior was put in cast and permanently deformed and painful. Yesterday he surgically repaired an avulsion finger fracture with torn tendons that took a bone chunk with it as it pulled off finger. If I could give him 10 stars I would. As patients rehab is necessary but restored my wrist function beautifully. Finger rehab is next and I have high hopes.

Dr. Ciaglia is the best! He has done two surgeries on me; one yesterday and one 2.5 years ago. Fully detailed review left on his website review section. I fully recommend him and would never go anywhere else.

Dr. Ciaglia and his staff worked quickly to get my surgery scheduled because of a damaged nerve. He was kind, explained the damage to me in relatable terms, and reassured me that I was in great hands. Post Op recovery has been painless and it’s all thanks to Dr. C!

Very professional and kind

I had my first appt with Dr. C March 2021. Told him I had hurt my hand due to golfing with a watch and an accident resulting in glass getting in my wrist. He said X-rays were negative I was fine and if it’s that much pain get an MRI. I declined. My hand gets progressively worse over the next 12 months. I call in and ask if we can schedule that MRI. He said I needed to come back in for another visit to do that. I come in and I’m seen no kidding 70 mins after my appointment time. He spends 30 seconds with me. Same problem as last year? Ok let’s order that MRI. I tore my labrum and rotator cuff in college. The mri was miserable. My arm was above my head in a tight box for an hour of excruciating pain. Doc says it came back negative. He wants to run a nerve test. That’s when I said wait a minute this all sounds expensive. Even with good insurance. I got a second opinion from a Dr in the med center who listened to me. He boasted he never needed an mri for a diagnosis in 30+ years. Surgery was scheduled two weeks later, my third carpal boss was shaved down, and low and behold a piece of glass was found right on my nerve on a 90 degree angle. Impossible for mri to pick up. Total out of pocket cost for surgery and proper diagnosis from a reliable professional $1,800 I then had to make a follow up appointment with him to get mri results. Couldn’t be given over the phone. That’s now 3 $90 co pays. Just for him to see me 85 mins late spending 2 mins baffled hinting at carpal tunnel. Mri came back negative he says. Total bill received for said mri $19,000 That’s NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS The doctor who did my surgery, said the lab attached to his building in the heart of the medcenter, charges $300. I waited to get MRI bill before writing review. I could not possibly be more displeased with Mark Ciaglia and his entire team. I had my first appt with Dr. C March 2021. Dr. Ciaglia was awesome had both of my hands done with Carpel Tunnel surgery and it's like having new hands. Highly recomend Dr. Mark.

Professional and experienced.

Dr.Ciaglia did a great job.

If you need a skilled hand surgeon, Dr Ciaglia is your guy. I just went for my first follow up to have the swelling cast removed and all the stitches. I still have a pin in place that runs from the middle of my thumb to the middle area of my wrist. In 3 weeks when they remove the permanent cast it will also be removed. He was thrilled with his work as much as I was. Told me my surgery was textbook perfect. You will love his staff as much as him! I’m still a little swollen but it looks great. Dr. Ciaglia repaired my right wrist after I severed the nerves falling on a broken flower pot. 2 months later I had him remove a cyst from my left wrist which required reconstructive surgery. Both procedures went without a problem and my wrists are healing well. Thank you Dr. Ciaglia and his entire staff. PS I also want to thank you for getting me in after I shut my wrist in the car door less than 2 weeks after surgery, having to reclose the incision site. It was the end of the day and I think they squeezed me in, so I didn't mind waiting. Dr. Ciaglia, as always, was thorough in his exam and concise in his explanation of the diagnosis and surgery needed. This will be my second hand surgery with him, and I trust it will go as uneventfully as the first. His team is kind, attentive and responsive to the patient's need. Highly recommend this practice.

"hands down" by far the best! I saw him a few weeks ago by referral and was very impressed by his staff and his beside manor. He explained my issue in relatable terms and was very personable. Weeks later my husband had an accident and was referred by er to a diffrent surgeon and we left feeling neglected and uncomfortable. Dr. Ciaglia performed a second thumb surgery on a second thumb five years apart. I am totally a supporter of him. His staff is five stars , this time it was longer to schedule surgery than the first time, but worth the wait to restore the use of my thumb.

Y'all were awesome! Everyone was super friendly, made me feel relaxed, and answered all my questions! Plus your intro video was pretty cool! Never had that before! Visit was quick, but very thorough!

This was the initial consultation/surgical preview meeting. Dr. Ciaglia took the time to review my EMG test results with me, and to answer all of my questions about the surgery.

Dr. Ciaglia has operated on me twice in the past 3 years. I recovered with minimal scarring and pain. I have been impressed with his staff and the care I've received by Dr. Ciaglia. He is compassionate and thorough. His staff is very courteous and prompt in responding.

Had a checkup on my right wrist to discuss problems I'm having. Dr. Ciaglia was his usual fun self. He's the best in his profession to me. He always let's me know what can and can't be done. I would recommend him to anyone that needs his type of skills.

My overall experience was very pleasant and professional! Dr.Ciaglia’s entire staff are friendly, helpful and communicate very well. Dr. Ciaglia is an exceptionally nice person and a wonderful Doctor! I would highly recommend this practice.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I have been seeing Dr. Ciaglia for a year and a half now. He is friendly, informative and the dreaded steroid shots that usually cause me so much anxiety are no longer dreaded. He does an excellent job at numbing the area where of my cmc joint so I don't feel the stick. Because of the "great" benefits of RA or OA, I require surgery of my left hand and I can't imagine going to anyone else for treatment. His staff is always very friendly including the front desk - great sense of humor too. Definitely recommend him to all!! I was suffering with pain in my thumb joint for a couple of years. I went to see Dr. Ciaglia about a year ago as a new patient, and I have to say, that was the best visit I’ve had. The staff is awesome! You watch a video (as a new patient) while waiting for the Dr., getting to know him and how he became a doctor and what his passion is all about. Amazing! Dr. Ciaglia has fixed my carpal tunnel in both my hands and elbows. So glad I got the surgery. I am about to have surgery on my thumb and wouldn't go to anyone else but him. Great staff and facility. The staff are warm and kind and was able to fit me in with their busy schedule. When I told them I needed to see him right away not knowing whether I needed a surgery.
