Many times in these review sites only people who are upset tend to give themselves the time to write on them. Dr. Gies has helped me so above and beyond that I am inclined to write a review myself. I was diagnosed with a severe mood disorder sometime back that had the potential to ruin my life -- indefinitely. With her knowledge (after all she got her BA from Princeton and her medical degree from Columbia) her attention to detail, her speed, and her fierce determination to heal, she successfully treated my condition for years. Ultimately however, it is her compassion that makes her the miracle worker that she is. Dr. Gies is well known in her community as she is also the medical director of the Santa Barbara drug rehabilitation program "GOOD HEART RECOVERY," and the chief medical director of "CASA SERENA," that offers programs for women with alcohol and/or drug addictions. Psychiatric conditions can be like being in a dungeon where all one sees is darkness. People who have them know what I am talking about. Dr Gies opens the door and lets the light come in. I'm happy that this site has given me the ability to tell you this is so.
