Dr. Varga is very rude if you ask any questions! She snapped at my mother and I and our private nurse! She makes you feel as though your questions are stupid.

Dr. Vargas is rude, does not listen, and is completely void of compassion or empathy. Her professionalism is lacking in every aspect and this is also reflected in her staff. I took my elderly father there for a visit today. After spending two hours there, she gave him about 5 minutes of her time. That by itself is not what bothers me--I'm sure he misunderstood when his appointment was, and neither he nor myself complained---I was grateful that they were working us in! However, she would not listen to either him nor myself, and as we were leaving I could hear her loudly and sarcastically repeating verbiage she had used while in the exam room to her colleagues and staff--complaining about my father! I have never been more disgusted with a medical professional in my life. At least wait until we leave to talk like that! sorry to say that our experience reflects that of others who posted here. Dr Varga was very condescending, yelling at my brother and I that we didn't attend to my dad properly as he was on minimal meds for his Parkinsons. Proceeded to prescribe much larger dosages of meds plus more meds. one month later my dad (who was able to walk with help, feed himself, use bathroom etc before) was in a wheelchair almost unresponsive. very hard to get in touch with their office to get help. eventually we weaned him off the meds and he is back to himself, attending therapy and getting around slowly. has a degree of enjoyment in life once again, thank GOD! I'm glad we had the guts and wherewithal to take dad off of her recommended treatment, not sure he'd still be here otherwise. as far as I know no one from the office has really followed up so I don't think they know this, but perhaps they will read this and get something out of it. I have been in Dr Varga's care for 4 years. During my appointments she asks questions but mostly she quietly observes me to discover the progress of my essential tremors. In so doing, she noticed a secondary condition that I wasn't even aware of. I feel confident in her explanations of my diagnosis and my options for treatment. I have recommended her to two friends, one she diagnosed with Parkinson disease and another with essential tremors. Having been treated by two other neurologists over the last 10 years, Dr Varga has been the most thorough and inspired the most confidence. I have been in Dr Varga's care for 4 years. Dr. Vargas is a Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Specialist. She is thorough, asks many questions, answers my questions and is very kind

Extremely disappointed with the professinalism of Dr. Varga, and would NOT recommend her for Parkinson's care. My Mother had her worse symptoms while under her care and medicine prescription -- and was a nightmare of an experience trying to get a hold of her for a response to a queston or to schedule an appointment. After a few months under her care, it became evident that Dr. Varga is in the profession primarily to make money and not for the care and comfort of her patients. Dr. Varga improved my life significantly using DBS. I had my second implant 2 or 3 yeqrs ago. So far so good!

Dr. Varga is an extremely knowledgeable specialist in PD, takes the time to answer all my questions. She is the best!

Working with Parkinson’s patients requieres a little patience and tact neither of which Mariana poses. She is the most hostile, rude, arrogant, patronizing, and abusive person I’ve ever encountered much less as a doctor. She yelled at my grandfather for standing up after she stood up while they were doing a test in which he repeated the movements she made. She lost her mind over such a small misunderstanding. She yelled, insulted, and patronized is both. That was the last time we went to see her. There are better doctors in Austin and they won’t treat you the way she would! If you’ve encountered a similar experience I encourage you to report her to the attorney generals office in TX for an investigation. My essential tremors had progressed to the point that I could not write and could barely feed myself. Dr Varga gave me my life back. I have complete confidence in her. I also very much like the professionalism of her staff.

Awesome Doctor.... my Mother has Parkinson’s and she has done a wonderful job. She cares and listens to her patients. My sister and I have a lot of respect and grate attitude for Dr Mariana Varga and her team of medical professionals.

Dr. Mariana Georgeta Varga has provided care for me since 2017. Dr. Varga diagnosed me and initially provided medication for my Parkinson's Disease. She also referred me to physical and speech therapy. All of my treatments helped me to feel better. I have found Dr. Varga to be thorough and highly professional. She tries to provide as much information as possible to her patients and answers questions. Dr. Varga is an expert in her area of practice and expects compliance with the treatments she provides. Although some persons might find this difficult, the intensity of her concern for her patients and the time she is willing to devote to have her patients understand what she is doing signify that she is deeply concerned for the well being of her patients. This provides for a degree of reassurance and comfort not available from all doctors. She also has a sense of humor. Early on Dr. Varga discussed deep brain stimulation which was part of her training and a modality which could provide relatively early and prolonged improvement for Parkinson's Disease. Early in 2019 she began the evaluation and referral process for deep brain stimulation. In the spring of 2019 I underwent a two part neurosurgical procedure for placement of a deep brain stimulator with an electrode lead implanted in the brain and connected later to a stimulator placed under the skin below the collar bone.This was done by Dr. Robert Buchanan, a neurosurgeon at Dell UT Medical School on referral from Dr. Varga. In collaboration with Dr. Buchanan, Dr. Varga provided intraoperative evaluation during lead placement. Dr. Varga programmed the stimulator after recovery and has continued to reprogram and adjust my medications as necessary. I have experienced improvement in fatigue, stiffness and tremor as a result of the procedures. I have had an improvement in my general sense of well being. Dr Varga is a very special Neurologist. Austin, Tx is so fortunate to have her and her Clinic here. She is brilliant, advance, and progressive in her field. My husband was instantly comforted and comfortable with Dr. Varga. We both recommend her all of the time. Dr. Varga unusually attentive and caring for each patient. NOTHING interrupts her when she is with a patient. Again, we feel so fortunate to have her with us on this journey. I went to Dr. Varga after having been diagnosed with Parkinson's for 3 years. After several visits and testing she said I didn't have Parkinsons. When I asked her what I had she said she didn't know but it wasn't Parkinson's. She then refused to treat me claiming too much intervention by other doctors. I then went to the Mayo clinic and they confirmed my Parkinson's diagnosis. Dr. Vargas misdiagnosed my condition and refused treatment. I cannot recommend her based on this. Dr Vatga is as pleasant as she is brilliant. I have complete confidence in her. She also has a great staff who makes one feel at home.

Dr. Varga saved my life! There is no bull with this incredible doctor. She wants her patients to live and not continue to be in denial and whine after she has completed surgery. I appreciate her approach! Trust her totally!

Dr. Varga spent a lot of time with me listening to my complains and symptoms. She went way and beyond to try to find out what's wrong with me. I've been to several doctors before and none of them was able to figure it out. She is competent and caring. Her staff is very welcoming and polite.

I am so thankful for Dr. Varga and her expertise in neurology and movement disorders. I have suffered from involuntary tics since age 5 and was originally diagnosed with Tourettes by another neurologist. Dr. Varga spent time listening to my story and my symptoms while being caring and attentive. She answered all my questions and doesn’t make me feel rushed. For my situation, she suggested a genetic test for different movement disorder and it came back positive. For 26 years I had been misdiagnosed but thanks to Dr. Varga I finally have answers. Dr. Varga's staff is very professional and friendly. I found Dr. Varga to be very informative and thorough with regard to diagnosing my on-going problems with essential tremors. She recommended a solution that alleviates prescription drugs and I could not be happier. She also agreed to work with my orthopedic surgeon in order to work on scheduling any overlapping medical procedures that may occur between the two doctors. I would highly recommend Dr. Varga to others in need of a neurologist.

Dr. Varga has been taking care of my Dad for 6 years. Her proficiency and expertise with dementia patients has been a blessing for our entire family.

After going to several neurologists for my hemi facial spasm, I was FINALLY fortunate enough to find Dr. Varga. She has given me my life back. She is very caring and knowledgeable. I am also lucky enough, jk, to have an essential tremor. I am now almost able to put on my mascara without any goof ups! I might add that the previous neurologist hurt me so much with the injections, I would have to dope myself up just to go. Not with Dr. Varga. Injections aren't fun but she makes me so comfortable that I do not dread my appointments. I love her and will continue to send any of my friends needing a wonderful neurologist to her........... Dr. Varga and her staff are wonderful! I have been treated for 2 1/2 years for Parkinson's by a different neurologist , turns out I have ET and Cervical dystonia. I am so thankful I had to change insurances and seek a new doctor! She is professional and kind. If you have any type of movement disorder, please seek out Dr. Varga!

Dr. Varga is an excellent physician. My wife has Parkinson’s and been her patient for about three years. I have referred her to several others and will continue to do so. After DBS surgery her expertise has been most helpful. Her bedside manner is not why we go to her, however she has been nothing but kind on every visit.

I was referred to Dr. Varga by a current treating physician, who is a wonderful physician; so I trusted him. I found both her and her staff to be professional and pleasant. Dr. Varga did not rush, was very attentive when I spoke, which I greatly appreciate, gave me time to gather my thoughts without getting frustrated or ever trying to rush me. Dr. Varga & her assistant Kate has turned my life around. For approximately 12-14 months, my movement issues prevented me from getting in front of my customers. Thankfully, I am now visiting my current customers and calling on potential customers. Prior to finding Dr. Varga, I saw two doctors who could not provide a successful plan. Dr. Varga quickly identified my issues and had a well thought out plan that included next steps. They are knowledgable, kind and concerned!

Her office staff is the rudest I have ever experienced. They just told me I was the rude one and hung up on me. Dr. Varga does NOT have good bedside manners whatsoever. She and her staff are rude and I cannot believe she is in a field with patients with Parkinson's Disease that deserve a kind and loving Dr. She is not that for certain. She requested certain testing on me and has had the results for over 10 days and I have not heard a word back. She told me I should go somewhere else. I will

I also agree with the other reviewers about the unprofessional and rude behavior of this doctor. I tried to explain something in a normal calming voice and was shocked to her reaction. Not only did she yelled at me and raised her voice and interrupted me NUMEROUS times, she threw her hands in the air and rolled her eyes. Then she took a phone call during our visit and had a personal conversation. UNBELIEVABLE. I will not return to this clinic, nor would I EVER recommend her to anyone.

I have never witnessed a doctor abuse a patient in the manner that Dr. Varga abused my grandfather. Yelling at him, making fun of him, patronizing him. This is not how you treat a human much less someone with Parkinson's.

Dr. Varga is extremely knowledgeable in Parkinson's disease. However, we quit going to her after several years because of her bedside manner. Knowledge only goes so far when you don't treat people with dignity. She gets angry with the patients and their caregivers if things aren't going the exact way she wants

I am still shocked about the way she treated me yesterday. When I started to tell her about seeing the Physical Therapist, I was interrupted and told to be quiet. She screamed at me at length for something the PT had done. I continued to tell her that I messaged her on Patient Portal, only to hear from her that she don't have time to read this. Never in my life have I experienced a medical professional act in this manner. Her behavior was unbelievable rude, verbally abusive, unprofessional.

Condesending, patronizing, verbally abusive. I have never witnessed a professional act in the way this woman acted. She yelled at my grandfather for misunderstanding her and standing up when he should have sat down. This is a man with Parkinson's who did not deserve to be berated in the manner that he was. I asked to be contacted by Dr. Varga upon leaving the clinic and never received a call or so much as an apology. Her assistant was even in shock from the abuse of Dr. Varga.

Dr Varga saved my life. Quite simply I had been diagnosed incorrectly with Parkinson's by Dr. Robert Izor in 1997. His treated me with heavy doses of both Parkinson's medication and other medication to alleviate the side effects of the medications. In 2012 due to severe decline in my health Dr. Izor recommended DBS surgery. After going thru the brain surgery I continued to decline. I sought a second opinion to stop the decline. I DID NOT HAVE PARKINSON'S. I WAS BEING POISONED.
