If I could give minus stars I would. Dr Mariana M. Just wants to charge your insurance for procedures regardless of how invasive they could be and regardless if it could harm your baby! Stay awayyyyy. We now see another Dr. and he has not even mentioned a colonoscopy or endoscopy. My little one is only 2. She is doing a lot better and we have her on a non dairy diet. Before we switched Dr. Dr Mariana called me to scared me that if I didn’t do the colonoscopy AND endoscopy my daughter’s intestines would die!!! This new dr. Said she was just trying to scare us that there is no such thing! Can’t believe Mariana claims she cares for her patients!!! She cares for the bonus she gets for the procedures we must say!! Excellent doctor, if all doctors had the heart and knowledge she has, the medicine world would have been different !!

Dr. Middelhof and her office staff really cares about their patients, definitely not a doctor that cares about $$. We run out of a special formula for our baby and Dr. Middelhof kindly arranged for us to have the formula after office hours. 10 stars for her !

Very grateful to Dr.Middlehof. She is very young and smart. For years we were told by a very rude pediatric GI doctor in the community ( he only knows how to mumble and doesn’t listen to you) that our son had anemia because of eating junk food and dairy allergy. After 3 years of being told this nonsense our son developed loose and bloody stool. Our Pediatrician recommended us to see Dr. Middlehof. Dr. Middelhof discussed all the posible reasons for our sons symptoms and proceeded with blood, stool laboratories and colonoscopy which confirmed Crohn’s disease; as she suspected since the initial visit. She also sent us for a MR of his abdomen which showed narrowing of his intestine. Dr. Middlehof promptly made sure my son got the approval for his medications. Our son is now healthy as ever. I wished we saw Dr. Middlehof 3 years ago. We are eternally grateful to have find a ped GI doctor that really cares about our concerns and son!! Very grateful to Dr.Middlehof. Dr. Middlehof went above and beyond to take care of our child; she gives you various options in taking care of your child and allows you to actively participate in care of your child. She does not impose on doing unnecessary testing or treatment ( completely contrary to other review below). We liked her philosophy " The best medicine is no medicine, but if needed we will use it". She takes her time to listen to your concerns and guides you to great internet sites to obtain accurate medical information. We will continue to follow up with her and highly recommend her. Dr Middelhof is an amazing physician... she takes her time to listen to you and your concerns, she also takes her time in explaining your child's situation and whats needed for them to get better.... Hands down best Pediatric physician ever

Unbelievable the level of unprofessionalism from this doctor that just started working for Gastro Health on 2016. I had the unfortunate luck to meet Dr Mariana S J Middelhof due to the fact that my daughters regular gastro associated with the same group no longer attended to the closest location from my house in Wellington leaving only this doctor as the only option. I explained to my pediatrician the situation and he recommended to give Mariana Middelhof a chance to attend my daughter. My pediatrician was recommending that my daughter would go to Food Therapy as he just like me, think my daughters food intake issues are more behavioral than any physical problem. In order to be referred to a food therapist, you need the clearance from a gastro even if you have the prescription from your pediatrician (which I do). When I met Mariana Middelhof jus like any other typical corrupted business only oriented doctor, she discredited what the pediatrician said and quickly opted to have my daughter go through the procedure of an endoscopy where she had to put under anesthesia. I quickly told her I thought that was very invasive and I was not ok with it, specially having the pediatrician knowing her history and her behavior and concluding that we should try a behavioral approach. Mariana Middelhof’s ego was hurt after I told her I disagreed with her and would go back to my pediatrician to tell him my experience and further discuss what we could do next. She tried to excuse her options for the procedures by saying she had just conducted 3-4 endoscopies the day before and it was perfectly safe. To which I responded I was still not ok with it. She is so unprofessional that since my rejection did hurt her ego, my daughter just received a certified letter that after “much thought” (I don’t think so but ok), Gastro Health decided to withdraw her from care. Now I have to call her original gastro to see if this applies to the entire association or just to her. My daughter wa in care of Gastrointestinal Health since the day she was born at the hospital. She is now 3 almost 4. It took only one visit, this one doctor to not be ok with me disagreeing with her to take it to the next level and pull “god all mighty” syndrome move. To anyone reading this, please beware, MARIANA MIDDELHOF is a disgrace to the health industry. I will be reporting her to the board for her behavior and will be contacting my lawyers for the mistreatment. I have 0 interest in seeing her, but both my kids need to keep seeing their original doctors which unfortunately attend the same association. Absolute great experience!! I had seen another pediatric gastro for years and came to see Dr. Middelhof for a 2nd opinion. The staff was awesome, Dr. Middelhof was attentive throughout the visit and reviewed all my sons record before our scheduled visit. Her recommendations were precise, and she diagnosed my son with eosinophilic esophagitis through an endoscopy after years of being told by the other gastro that my son’s vomiting was due to reflux and behavioral. La Dra. Mariana Middelhof es una excelente doctora!! Muy atenta y ayudó a mi bebé con reflujo severo. Sus recomendaciones fueron excelentes. Ella te devuelve tu llamada el mismo día y toma su tiempo explicándote el pq de todos sus recomendaciones. Lo recomiendo con mis ojos cerrados.
