Dr. Dawis saved our son's life! Back in October 2015 our 6 day old son somehow came down with a case of MRSA. He had blisters forming all over his body and high fevers. He even stopped breathing the night we decided to take him to the hospital as I was feeding him. When we first arrived at Jersey Shore Medical Center that night the team of doctors (Not Dr Dawis) had no idea what to do, they gave our 6 month old a multitude of medicines and even a spinal tap. As the first 24 hours went by the situation turned bleak as nobody had an answer. And as the virus was getting worse, nobody could tell us what was wrong with our son. Then the following day Dr. Maria Dawis came into our room, looked at our son and his chart and told everyone to STOP what they were giving him. And to ONLY do one IV of antiviral medication, in which after only a few hours we saw a drastic positive change his symptoms. Then within 48 hours our son was back to normal and almost all cleared up. We stayed another few days just to make sure but everything turned out great from there. We just recently celebrated his 5th Birthday and we believe that if it was not for the brilliant decision making by Dr Maria Dawis we would not have been able to celebrate any birthdays for our son!

Dr. Dawis is one of a kind! Her bed side manner was phenomenal!! She took time to explain things and had patience to make sure you understood even when you were overwhelmed and stressed she would make sure you were comfortable with treatment plan. My daughter had a very rare aggressive bacterial wound infection that could of taken her leg and possibly life but Dr. Dawis quickly took action and treated her which eventually got her to make a full recovery! So many drs are in a rush but not her she truely cares for her patience and goes above and beyond to make sure they are ok! Thank you so much for getting my daughter on her feet again! We are forever grateful!
