About Margaret E Gillis
Reviews for Margaret E Gillis
This person Margaret Gillis is not a very good doctor at all. I John P Hudson saw this person for Covid Pneumonia on Thursday April 29th, at approximately 5:00 pm. at St. Joseph ER which was after seeing an Urgent Care professional at EMU. The UC, suggested that I go to St. Joseph ER since my Covid 19 test came back positive and chest ex-ray looked very bad. That person at the UC recommended the ER because they stated there would be more they could do in order to get my lungs back to some kind of normalcy. Upon arriving at St. Joseph ER and barely breathing, preliminary procedures took place upon getting checked in; weight, height check etc. There was some bloodwork done but nothing within that bloodwork that would have checked for clotting which is a common occurrence with Covid. I come from a family of healthcare professional and as a matter of fact my girlfriend is a nurse and when I showed her my medical records from this particular day, she thought it to be very bizarre for Dr. Gillis to say my lungs was clear and my breathing was non labored. The other false charting dealt with my respiratory rate per minute. Dr. Margaret Gillis stated that it was 18 breaths per minute when it was easily double that. The reason we know it was double that; after being taken to another ER out of state a while later if was 38 - 40 breaths per minutes. Also according to what my girlfriend heard on her stethoscope while listening to my lungs the night before was the deciding factor in scheduling an appointment with UC in the first place. Therefore, trying to resolve this issue with my Covid symptoms which could have been easily fatal until I got the proper care from a hospital in Ohio which did the right thing. Moreover, prior I had asked Dr. Gillis about antibiotics; I quote, "she stated, that was not something they do and if it was, that would be the miracle cure all drug." Whether she said this to be humorous or not; I found no humor in this statement at all. I found it to be very careless and reckless. She virtually sent me home to suffer out the rest of my days on earth with no care. Not to mention any names of other healthcare providers in Ohio and where I got the utmost of proper care; they prescribed an antibiotic and steroids, also on top of other key health procedures that was needed. After being on this treatment for 5 days turned my near fatal encounter with Covid 19 into a more sustainable life situation. I must say I feel near 100 % better because I did go to the right healthcare professional in Ohio. Dr. Margaret Gillis MD at St. Joseph Mercy ER must do a better job when it comes to necessary treatment of patients. This treatment I received carried more along the lines of malpractice.
