I really just want to post this to say thanks to Dr. Ghorieshi and Linda and the others at Palo Alto Mind Body. You have changed my life. I don't really want to post all about my past issues with depression but it is fair to say I tried everything and nothing worked, I've dealt with this for most of my life and I had pretty much given up hope. I heard about ketamine infusions for people like me and wasn't sure. I read the PAMB website which is pretty good and then I talked to Linda on the phone a couple times. She runs the office I guess. She is really special, very caring. She talked to me and really helped me understand things. Most places don't take the time like she did. I met with Dr. G and it was the same with him, he really put me at ease. After my first ketamine infusion I went home and smiled at my wife and kids for the first time in forever. It was amazing. My wife actually cried that evening she was so happy. I've now had the initial phase of 8 ketamine treatments. Dr. G said I should plan to do booster treatments but to wait and see for now. I have not needed one yet. I touch base with him and Linda to let them know how things are going and so far so good. I can't thank them enough. If other things aren't working for you, take my advice and give them a call. These treatments are not covered by insurance but, for me, it was definitely worth the money. You also need to have someone drive you home after the treatment, so, it takes a little planning with someone that can go with you. I was referred to Dr. Ghorieshi by my psychiatrist when yet another medication wasn’t doing enough, and I was barely existing. I was suffering, and the last thing I wanted or needed was some far off sliver of hope that I may eventually start to feel better gradually someday after trying several more medications...I needed help right then and there. That’s what Dr. Ghorieshi did. He understood, and he helped me right then. I went home and could enjoy things again! Music sounded good again. My grey life had colors again. I didn’t leave with the hope I’d feel better. I actually felt better when I left. I’m not sure I’d be here writing this now, over a year after completing 7 treatments with him, if I had not worked with him. The only downside was the cost and he does not directly bill insurance, but perhaps that will change at some point.
