Dr. L Kirk Lorimer botched my hammer toe surgery. The 3rd toe (middle toe) on my left foot was slightly overlapping my 4th toe (fore toe). The toenail on the 4th toe was pressing against the 3rd toe which caused pain when walking. Dr. Lorimer said surgery should be performed on my 3rd, 4th and 5th toe to straighten them. The surgery took half an hour. It has been over three months since my surgery. I am still wearing a post-op surgery boot because of pain. My 3rd toe is still swollen, mostly in the joint area and it is painful. The 3rd toe is stiff with little mobility. The 4th toe (my problem toe) isn't swollen any longer, but it looks more crooked than it was before the surgery. Just a little pain in the 4th toe now. The 5th toe is straight, but it is still swollen. There is no pain in the 5th toe. Dr. Lorimer said surgery could be performed a second time on my 3rd and 4th toes to straighten them. With a temporary pin inserted into the 4th toe. I am looking for a new doctor.

I had bunion surgery performed by Dr. Lorimer in the fall of 2009 that didn’t heal correctly. He did a 2nd surgery to try to fix which was unsuccessful. I’ve spent the past 9 years with pain and developed other problems as a result of the surgery. Have been seeing another podiatrist since then and just had surgery to repair my foot. I wish I’d gone to my current doctor in the first place.
