I was referred to Dr Sanz by a colleague, highly recommended she walked me over to his office and I was seen immediately. I was greeted warmly and treated with respect. Listened to and I signed a form for a prolapsed vagina. Several weeks later as my schedule allowed I made a commitment to submit to surgery by a certain date. The days passed and never heard from the hospital nor the medical staff; so I called the hospital and I was informed that my doctor's office was supposed to send me a package and the anesthesiologist would call me the next day at 2pm. I called the Dr.s office and was informed the doctor was out of town, so was his assistant and only two medical assistance ladies were available who knew nothing of the package the office was supposed to send me by mail but not to worry it was forthcoming. Two days before the surgery I called again and the same story was given. No one available with any authority to give any assistance. I then called the hospital the next day (the day before the surgery) and I was informed my surgery had been cancelled. No explanation was given to them I was to call the surgeon, so I did and was told again no one available. I requested to speak with the manager and was given an office number. Upon calling a voice mail message left, I called again to the office and was then told the manager was not in that day. Demanding the phone number I was told she would call me. She called a couple of hours later. By then I was frantic and not in a very nice tone explained my predicament.....Profesionalism unheard of in this office....She promised to restore my surgery appointment for Thursday as it was too late for pre-op and would call the next day after 8am since I was working.....She called to tell me the doctor would perform my pre-op in his office if I would go see him and my surgery was scheduled for the next day.....Upon arrival I was ushered to the doctor who proceeded to inform me he was retiring next month so he had referred me to his Dr Canter and if I hurried over I had an appointment for 1pm......I couldn't speak, shocked. I cannot to this day explain what happened ......Never in my life had I witnessed such lack of caring, and incompetence on the side of his office staff and surgeon. I've trusted Dr. Sanz with my care for 25 years. Over this time and due to a disease process, he performed 2-3 surgeries. The last was 14 yrs ago and I have been asymptomatic since. Dr. Sanz is a caring, experienced, and talented physician. I would highly recommend him for gynecological care.

Dr. Sanz is a polite but overconfident, dismissive doctor. He performed a sling and resection in 2009 - I was debating whether to use him or another doctor and in retrospect he sorta over-confidently bullied me into using him (So I'll fix it - when do you want to schedule surgery?). The procedure was a mess - 3 months later my sling had eroded - he did another small procedure and said it was fixed - then the sling failed. I left and use another doc now, still struggling with scar tissue.
