Terrible Doctor. Outdated views on medicine. Criticizes you if you ask any questions that he doesn't know the answer to. He boasts about his accomplishments even if they were 50 years ago. Poor guy is his own biggest fan.

May 18, 2021 was the worst doctors visit my husband & I have ever experienced! My husband is an army veteran with TBI. The VA referred us to Dr. Acosta, & needs less to say that was mistake number one. The ARROGANCE this man carries is nothing less than GROTESQUE! In several occasions he made comments stating we were not his level/mental capacity since he is a scientist! Then he proceeds to tell my husband he does not possess any intelligence!!!!! Those were just the ones that really upset us, however he was saying things like this the entire appointment. I honestly feel sorry for him if he feels this way about himself! Please do yourself and your health a favor, seek a younger neurologist who has more knowledge especially in our advanced times. This Doctor is so outdated & only speaks about himself. He spoke more about himself than he did my husband. I will definitely be calling the VA & make sure not one more veteran has to go through what we did. WORST DOCTOR I HAVE EVEN COME ACROSS! HE HAS THE MOST GROTESQUE ARROGANCE I HAVE EVER WITNESSED. HE TOLD MY HUSBAND WHO IS A 20 YEAR VETERAN SUFFERING FROM TBI THAT HE COULD NEVER BE ON HIS LEVEL & HE HAD NO INTELLIGENCE!

Dr Acosta is an excellent doctor, he knew what I had after over 50 years of going to different doctors and hearing things like, “You worry too much”, or “You must have a little depression”. Since the first visit he knew what I had; then, he confirmed it with the lab tests. I really appreciate his help and would be eternally grateful to him; you can imagine how frustrated and sick I felt for almost 60 years.

Dr. Acosta is a decent doctor however, you are only as good as your office staff. My husband went unresponsive while admitted in the hospital and the nurse staff called 'code brain'. Myself and the hospital staff tried to contact the doctor; both being unsuccessful in getting a hold of anyone. I even drove to the office and no one was there. After several phone calls to the doctor office for the submission to the insurance for a referral for an MRI that the doctor requested before my husband's hospital admission, as it was never submitted to the insurance. It was finally submitted 3 and half weeks later and after my husband had already gone unresponsive. The office staff lies about appt times as well. I called the day before an appt to confirm time and was told the wrong time. We showed up for the appt at the time confirmed and was told that we were an hr late. At which time, I informed the staff that due to their diligence and the fact that the doctor is not available for my husband's condition, we are going to go with a different neurologist. My suggestion is save yourself the headache. Dr. Acosta is good for consultation but as for long term care seek a different doctor. Dr. Acosta is the worse neurologist any one can go to. He is truly arrogant. He does these evaluations in his office that seem unnecessary and gives you a story that is useless to the issues I had.

People who visit neurologist are more than likely not in the best state of being. There is no great way of telling someone that they are terminally ill but the arrogance and lack of compassion Dr.Accosta showed towards my family member was despicable. He provided no resources, no suggestions for medications, nothing except “you are dying I suggest you go home and get your affairs in order”. When we asked if there was anything we can do to make this easier on he suggested that we could not afford it and to find help elsewhere. He is a terrible man and this is the last place I would recommend for a loved one. People who visit neurologist are more than likely not in the best state of being. I have been seeing Dr. Acosta for a few years now. He is an Excellent Neurologist. He meets all my medical needs, refills all my medications on time, and schedules me in a timely manner. Most importantly, he is managing my condition very well and i am very happy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS NEUROLOGIST!!!

Very upset. My wife has been needing medication for over week and a half and they have not helped getting it into the pharmacy. The first medication needed authorization from the doctor which took about 8 days to do, even though I called them every day. Then they said they would be sending a different medication yesterday, and the pharmacy said they dont have any orders for that medication. Very upset. My son Lewis Edward Estrada was a patient of Dr. Luis Acosta for approximately 8 years... Dr. Acosta treated Louie with such kindness and understanding as my son was very troubled... Dr. Acosta listened to him and took his time with him... they seemed to be able to discuss many interest that they both had...Dr. Acosta made Louie very comfortable as I could see Louie could easily talk to him... our only sadness was that Dr. Acosta no longer was accepting Louie's insurance after all these years..

I really can't say enough good things about Dr. Acosta. He was thorough and personable at the same time. I enjoyed my visit much more than I thought I would. A Dr. that listens and explains conditions is hard to find. I really felt like he cared about me and my well being and will take appropriate measures to improve my life. I trust him far more than many Dr.'s that I've met.

Dr. Acosta was able to get me in quickly when my previous neurologist had to suddenly close his practice. This was great as I was low on my prescription. Dr. Acosta has a beautiful office that was very professional. Although I did have to wait in the lobby past my scheduled appointment time (30-45 minutes) I chalk it up to the thouroughness with which he evaluates his patients. Dr. Acosta spent over an hour evaluating me and discussing my health. Seemed very knowledgable!

Excellent care and personal as well as professional insight was outstanding. Took the time to hear and document all my information with great kindness, skill and care. Was very pleased and satisfied with this doctor. Would highly recommend.
