Lixin Zhang

No one answers phones, multiple copays are charged for a single day, there is no follow up to tests. I was told that I have a brain tumor, had a second MRI, and heard nothing. I saw Dr. Zhang twice for about ten minutes each time. Everything else is passed on to other employees, and the margin of error is huge. I'm finding a new neurologist.

Dr Zhang is a miracle worker! Would recommend him to anyone! He changed my husbands life.

When he doesn't know, he attributes it to anxiety and depression. He diagnosed me with anxiety just by looking at me and how I was sitting in a chair. My head was whirling inside my head (dizziness). He said when he looks at my wife, he doesn't see anxiety. She had a long, difficult day at work and was sprawled out in her chair, very tired.... ridiculous. He is a bad "psychologist" or "psychiatrist" wannabe. A few years later he diagnosed me with a peripheral neuropathy. The blood tests he ordered came back normal. The neurologist who did the EMG testing (nerve conduction test) told me that I didn't have the peripheral neuropathy! I should see the other neurologist. Let the buyer beware!

Dr. Zhang was thorough and explained everything. He answered all my questions. Wait was not long and office was clean.

Dr. Zhang was not compassionate or informative with my 87 year old father. He tried to bully my father into having a spinal tap and when questioned, he replied that he is the neurologist. I gave Dr. zhang one star but would have given him zeros stars of that was an option.

Dr. Zhang completely disregarded my concerns and symptoms and even told my husband that I was making them up. I went to a different neurologist who did an MRI right away once he heard my symptoms and it showed that I had a brain tumor. If I stayed with Dr. Zhang (who did not think anything needed to be done), the type and grade of tumor I had would have killed me in five years if left untreated. Getting the proper care from a different doctor who took me seriously saved my life. I highly recommend AGAINST seeing Dr. Zhang. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went to see Dr.Zhang regarding my vertigo. He did one test and said it wasn’t crystals misplaced in my ear canal(most common cause of vertigo). He wanted me to do more tests that were extremely expensive. I decided to go to a chiropractor and had a common procedure done and my vertigo was fixed in one visit. I called and complained about paying $400 for a wrong diagnosis. The complaint manager Tara rudely rushed me off the phone after 5 minutes and said Dr. Zhang said he was doing this for 30 years and wasn’t wrong. I went to see Dr Zhang after he was recommended to my wife. I explained to him that I had been dealing with tinnitus since 4/2019. He took about 5 mins to diagnosis the problem. He prescribed Wellbutrin 150 mg once a day. I asked if there were any side effects. He said, and I quote, "good medicine for you" "no side effects ". I took it for eleven days. Then out of the clear blue I had a severe relapse of tinnitus. I was shaking, trembling inside. I called the on call service. They said the on call doctor would call that night. No call. I phoned the office in morning and spoke to the nurse. She said someone would call me by the end of the day. No call. They left one of their patients in distress.

Dr. Zhang was very thorough and gave me complete and concise answers to my problems. I have gone to so many doctors for my vertigo symptoms and I finally feel like I am getting great care.

I've been going to Dent for years. Diagnosed with migraines, vertigo and then occipital nerve damage diagnosed by Dr. Zhang. Never saw him again. I've been seen by 3-4 different PA's who've really done not enough to cure me. If it wasn't for a MRI done by Excelsior a couple weeks ago I still wouldn't know as of now that I have a brain aneurysm. I'm very disappointed with the staff and being constantly switched to see someone else. More need to be done for patients. I've been going to Dent for years. This is not a slight against the doctor. I LOVED DENT. Howeve,r Dent dropped my insurance and only excepts it now for juvenile's only. This is extremely upsetting as now it has been a few years and I have yet to find a neurologist that is as helpful as DENT was to me. Very upset that my health care services were abruptly stopped. They are wonderful and I wish I could go back, but I would give it a 1 star because I was not even notified of the change and all treatment and medication was abruptly stopped which caused more problems for me. I went to see Dr Zhang for vertigo. While checking my ears, he found that one ear had a little wax. He did not remove it. A very nice assistant by the name of Samantha tried to "flush" my ear. No luck. I thought that she would bring the doctor in to remove it. Nope. I had to come back to have it flushed again and go through a series of hearing tests (there was never anything wrong with my hearing!) The wax is still in my ear and I still have vertigo. And it cost me two $50 copays! The 2nd visit I had my ear flushed (wax is still in the ear) and go through a series of hearing tests. AT NO TIME DID DR ZHANG COME IN TO TRY TO GET THE WAX OUT! So now I have to go back (another $50 copay) and they are going to try to get the wax out! Dr Zhang could very easily get it out but he would rather have patients keep coming back and keep getting the copay! I'm going to try to get into see an ENT as soon as I can. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SEE DR. ZHANG. He also never gave me anything for the vertigo!! I still have it. I ended up going to the ER @ KMH and the ER doctor flushed out the a large piece of wax!! Went back to dent for neck pain and dizziness. Saw diff dr the 2nd time. Told dizziness related to aura migraine and chronic neck pain. Dr. Zhang tried to tell 2nd doc to just up my celexa. Thank God 2nd dr listened to me and his treatment has helped. Dr. Zhang is too quick to blame it on anxiety

I Reported several serious neurological symptoms, but was told by he & a P.A. after an inconclusive EEG that there was nothing wrong beyond psychological issues, & my symptoms were due ONLY to anxiety & depression. Any time I questioned their anxiety theory I was ANGRILY told I was wrong and it was "impossible" given the test results. Finally I switched to a better doc & tests confirm not only seizures, but a stroke in there somewhere too that I am recovering from.

Very thankful for the amazing care I received. Dr Zhang explained everything to me and within a month of medication management I have been symptom free. I had dizziness for over a year and my doctor had no idea what was wrong with me!

My review reflects my experience with Dr. Zhang's Dizzyness & Balance Center at Dent Neurological, and not Dr. Zhang specifically. I have a long history of well diagnosed balance disorders. I found their testing facilities much better than I experienced elsewhere, but their diagnoses ignored my prior history and seemed to accept a long dead vestibular nerve as unimportant and suggested that, after 13 years, I could benefit from vestibular therapy despite having acclimated to my disability well.

Very seriously poor care resulting in the need for extensive emergency surgery and nursing home rehab

This doctor is getting away with mistreating patients and should be banned from practicing any form of medicine in the US.

Excellent and efficient diagnostic skills and treatment. Great staff at the Dizziness and Balance Center too. Can't recommend him highly enough.

More of the same in regards to Dr. Zhang. Very cold, and did not listen to what I had to say. Took a quick look at MRI, and after I told him that I had no history of anxiety in my family, at the end of the appointment, blamed my symptoms on anxiety and my "family history of anxiety". The man clearly does not listen to what his patients have to say! My visit was a total waste of my time.

I saw Dr. Zhang as a first time patient. After reading his terrible reviews online I should have cancelled but was desperate and no one else had openings. He was cold, refused to listen or look at my medical records and did a very brief physical exam. He tried to blame my symptoms on anxiety and push Xanax. I tried to explain my symptoms in detail and my medical history but Dr. Zhang refused to listen. Kept pushing Xanax. I would not trust his judgement on diagnosis or treatment. Steer clear!

I went to see this person because I was experiencing dizzy spells. After 5 minutes of "tests" he told me that nothing was wrong and that my dizziness was caused by anxiety and he would prescribe anti-anxiety medication. Seems like this is his M.O. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Now I have to find a REAL doctor.

Doesnt listen and jumps to assumptions quickly. Accusses patient of being a hypocondriac or that its (face numbness!) is all in their heads. Cant navigate laptop and accused that brain MRI images are not on disc. Office staff accuses the same. I verified with imaging facility that all images and written report IS on disc provided. Extremely incompetent, insensitive man! I see Im not alone in thinking this.
