I cannot begin to say how wonderful my experience was with Dr Weichmann as well as her dedicated staff. I would travel from anywhere to have her as my breast surgeon. She is one in a million. Professional and personal at the same time - a true gift to all of her patients.

My experience with Dr. Wiechmann was absolutely comforting. I am so Happy that I had the privilege of meeting such a brilliant person. I ended having two biopsies, and a partial Mastectomy which all came out negative for Cancer Thank God.

Dr. Wiechmann is, in one word, incredible. She is very technical, intelligent, and incredibly caring. In my situation (a breast abscess that started in pregnancy) she ensured that my diagnosis was expedited in one day, and treatment was also expedited. When the inflammation related to the abscess persisted, she and her colleague, Dr. Rao, did everything they could to see me quickly and and put my mind at ease. Unfortunately, after the baby was born, the abscess recurred and became so problematic that I had to have surgery. Again, Dr. Wiechmann made it possible to have surgery within a day and a half of diagnosing the recurrence. She saw me via TeleHealth while she was in vacation. If you are seeking intelligent, warm, caring and direct advice from a female doctor for your breast health, I strongly recommend Breast Surgeon Dr. Lisa Wiechmann of Columbia Doctors. From my initial consultation, I was quite impressed with her specific knowledge and genuinely caring approach. She fully addressed and answered all of my questions. Her upbeat, highly professional manner and staff - in spotless, comfortable, extremely safe and convenient midtown Manhattan offices - exuded the warmth and confidence I needed to proceed. With calm reassurance, I underwent Excisional Breast Biopsies at the impeccable new David Koch Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital in mid-December 2020. Even in this fearful time of COVID, I felt extremely safe in this fantastic, sparkling 21st century hospital setting. (You are given a private room with extras, reminiscent of a luxury hotel!) My result and experience with Dr. Wiechmann was definitely five-star. I recommend her without reservation.

Dr. Weichmann is an amazing, caring, professional and detailed breast surgeon. Her follow through is above and beyond. When you are in her hands, you have nothing to worry about. She doesn’t just treat you like a patient, she treats you like a friend. She explains every step with detail and all the while making you feel comfortable that the decisions you are making are correct both medically and personally. I would go to Dr Weichmann with any problem that I had and I know she would always take the time to help me. She is truly an amazing physician, surgeon and person. I travel almost 2 hours each way just to meet with her. She also has a wonderful staff and together her department makes Columbia Presbyterian Hospital a better breast cancer facility.

Dr. Wiechmann was all I could have wanted in a breast doctor/surgeon and more! She explained everything to me, made me feel comfortable, and didn't make me feel like any of my questions were stupid. My surgery was successful, and she was quite accessible afterwards for follow-up questions. As an added bonus, from an aesthetic perspective, her work was impeccable and I have minimal scarring. My only complaint was that her office seemed bogged down in a Columbia-wide phone system that created long hold times and made her office more difficult to reach/schedule with than I would have liked.

Amazing. She saved my life. The hospital itself was not so great. I had a horrible stay overnight.
