Since my endo retired, I had to get in quickly as a new patient. The front office staff was extremely efficient and I was able to see Dr. Lillibet Placheril rather quickly. Quiet, clean, neat office...staff is following COVID protocols. I was literally the only patient in the waiting room and not a long wait at all. Dr. Lillibet took the time to listen to my concerns and questions and explain some things relating to my condition. I appreciate the degree of professionalism and care this office demonstrated throughout the entire process. Thanks, Dr. Placheril and staff! My father has been going to Dr. Placheril for many years for managing his Type I diabetes. As his caregiver now, I've gotten to know Dr. Placheril myself, too. She helped him to get a new continuous glucose monitor/insulin pump combo, set the proper levels, and has helped us to manage it. When he had a serious and urgent problem last year, she was with us by phone in the middle of the night to help resolve it -- now that's great service. When his weight dropped recently, she knew to reduce his thyroid medication. She's smart, insightful, caring, and professional. We are very, very grateful for her.

DON’T GO SEE THIS DOCTOR! I had an appointment with this doctor Dec. 21st. After the doctor saw me, I was being checked out when they said the insurance card did not match the one on paperwork. I looked at lab order and saw they had my name wrong. Then they realized they checked me in under another patient’s chart. This other patient and I had thesame first name put not last name. They never verified my full name or my birthday before seeing the doctor. So the doctor had other patient’s chart when she saw me and not my medical history. The staff gave the doctor my chart. Doctor looked over it quickly and said you don’t need a test, and told me nothing could be done for me. Doctor decided on this without looking at my family history of thyroid problems on both sides of family. I only went to this doctor because I have an HMO and after seeing all the negatives reviews I wasn’t sure I should go, but decided to give doctor a chance. BIG MISTAKE! This office deserves a Zero rating and so does the doctor. Also, just went on patient portal a few days ago and they have a medication listed under me that I am not even on! DON’T GO SEE THIS DOCTOR! I was not impressed with this Doctor, her staff or the conditions of the office. My Endocrinologist of 10 years retired and all of his patients were provided with a list of referrals. Unfortunately, I selected the wrong doctor. I received a 1 minute or less exam. Prior to my appointment I gave the office copies of my medical paperwork from my previous doctor. She said she didn't have the paperwork. She ordered a sonogram on my thyroid because I told her I was due to have that procedure done. A very unfriendly Medical Tech called me and provided me with little to no information about my results and just told me to schedule another sonogram in six months. Since I also received a copy of the results I had some questions so I called the office and asked that the doctor call me. To this day I have not received a call from the Doctor. I am left with unanswered questions about my well being. I find that to be unethical and unprofessional. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR!

I think she is great. I have seen her for over 27 years and she has kept my diabetes in check consistently. She is approachable, very intelligent, thorough and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her to anyone needing expert care for diabetes.

If I could give this doctor zero stars I would. Avoid at all costs. If I could file a lawsuit I would- I’m in the process of reporting her to the Florida medical board.

I've had hypothyroidism since I was 9, now 36. It's always been hard to get it regulated. Had an amazing doc in New York and then moved down here. My thyroid got dangerously low and I was referred to Dr Lillibet. She did her spill, asked a couple questions and then left. I've never felt so unwelcome before. Went back to my regular physician and that was that. A year later, my thyroid got dangerously low again. I was on 300mg of meds and I figured I would give Dr Lillibet another chance. Went in with recent lab work and ultrasound for her to look at. She said...oh your probably forgetting to take your meds. Come back in 6 months. And walked out. I was mind blown. Are your flipping serious? Worst endrconologist I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot in the last almost 30years of having issues. Very unwelcoming and absolutely no help at all. Dr. Placheril, is such a sweetheart. She’s one of the Best! She knows she her field, very knowledgeable, truthful, dedicated to her work. I have my greatest blessing because of her knowledge & expertise.

I have to direct this to her staff because I really doubt the Doctor gets involved with returning phone calls nor scheduling appointments, however I believe the Doctor should be aware that my wife had called on several occasions for an appointment, received voice mail and never had her phone calls returned. I am "just sayin" because the offices inaction speaks volumes. I am outa here!

This office doesn't even deserve 1 star. The staff are too involved with tans and each other than they are with patients. The doctor is awful. She speaks in doctorese so a regular person can't figure out what she's talking about. When she can't figure out what is wrong after thousands of dollars of tests.. she'll refer you to a psychiatrist. That's so helpful in making a patient feel better. Dr. Placheril is great, really listens and is really helping me when other doctors just dismissed me. I would highly suggest her!

This was the worst appointment that I ever had. The doctor did not do anything but sit across the room from me. my test results came back very low and I was told that they did not want to see me again. DO NOT DO THIS. THIS DOCTOR IS NOT A GOOD PHYSICAN. If you have diabetes than go see her that all she cares about. I should have listened to the previous reviews.

If I could give this doctor/company a zero star, I would. My gastroenterologist referred me to this doctor after exhausting all tests/ideas as to what was causing several of my symptoms. I made an appointment, waited a long time to be seen, and finally got in. Dr. Placheril walked in the door, glanced at my file and told me to stop eating gluten. Literally turned around, walked out the door, and left me there. She had seen the reason for referral was due to significant weight loss. Instead of asking me (I had a list prepared) what my other symptoms were (symptoms that mirror Addison's disease), she dismissed me and sent me out the door, collecting an easy $60 copay along the way. I cannot believe how dismissing this doctor was. Her lack of compassion or even ATTEMPT at trying to diagnose me through conversation alone was nonexistent. I was extremely disappointed. I let my gastroenterologist know about the situation and they have ceased referring any future patients to this doctor. I am now being seen by a specialist Endocrinologist at USF. Sad I had to travel to Tampa to find an endocrinologist willing to help me. Shame on you Dr. Placheril for not even giving your patients a second thought. Gluten has nothing to do with my issues, and if you had spent more than a second writing me off, you would have seen the extensive testing my doctor did before sending me to you, that this was already ruled out. Dr. Placheril was my 3rd opinion and finally diagnoses my health issue on the first visit. And, with a simple solution for treatment, I was back to normal within days.

I was referred here for complex medical issues that my Gastroenterologist could not diagnose. She thought I could be dealing with a number of endocrine related issues and sent me here. This doctor spent about 3 minutes with me, didn't even give me a chance to tell her what my symptoms were or to discuss what was going on or what had been done with my other doctors, before she ushered me out the door and told me to stop eating gluten. Worst doctor I've ever been to. Gluten was already ruled out.

Saw her for years and when I went in for emergency surgery, found out her records of me were very sparse and there was nothing to help my heart surgeon. I had been turned down a year before for an insulin pump because her nurse told the insurance company that it was NOT medically necessary. I had such a bad experience that I refuse to see an endocrinologist. She was the only Dr accepting new patients.

Great doctor. Caring and compationat.

Dr Placheril has taken excellent care of my husband for over 10 years. My husband has had diabetes for 40 years and with her care, he has managed his condition. I would recommend her to all needing diabetic care!

If I had diabetes I would DEFINITELY see her and that is not ruled out in my future. I talked to a few patients in the waiting area is why. As far as my search for an endocrinologist for hyperthyroid I could not understand lack of ratings of skewed ratings - and I am positive I now know the answer. Specialists are not restaurants and people do not see them for a "good time" or entertainment. Not at all. So I am leaving one to help guide others after a few visits here. After I learned I probably need my thyroid out I took five months and I asked a slew of people who had it done. Meantime my symptoms escalated as this specialist figured. Six out of six said it was the best thing they ever did, given their circumstance, only wished they had done it sooner. A few were seen by this endocrinologist. The in person results did not fit web reviews overall (not just this specialist) but the procedure itself and now I understand because happy people usually are back to life. Bottom line Dr. Lillibet M. Placheri does know endocrinology, has seen classical cases in her area a million times (I did think her fast at first-BUT she already knew what she was looking at) I was the one who had to catch up to speed. She never forced any procedure and gave me all the time I felt I needed. Do write top questions you have down so you do not forget and anything important she should know. Terrible experience with this office. I strongly recommend not even calling to attempt setting up an appointment. To be frank, it would seem as Dr. Placheril's office is run by children, who play decent pseudo-roll of medical assistant. Perhaps Dr. Placheril is not to blame, but I believe noticing how terrible her staff deals with current/new patients is part of the job as well. Before making this recommendation, I called the office to extend my complaint. I believe in a fair trial, and felt mistreated. I'd set an appointment, and was never called to be informed it was magically cancelled. When I called less than 24 hours from the appointment time, they informed me of this. So, upon the call to complain, I was met with "Let me transfer you to. . ugh, the person who deals with that stuff." Reaching the next receptionist, I explained that I was upset, and instead of hopping online and posting negative feedback, I simply wanted to let them know. BEFORE I EVEN INFORMED THEM of my name, or the patients name, she replied "We tried calling your phone, but it was not active. You had a different number or something." ....... I haven't had a chance to identify myself? My response "Are you sure you know who is calling? Or what appointment this is?" "Well, I think so. I mean, we do have alot of patients, but I think I know what appointment you mean." Terrible, terrible experience.
