Leslie Memsic

Doctor Memsic is quite an amazing woman! She has a great sense of humor and beside manner. She drove to Cedars in the middle of the night and ordered tests just to make sure I was okay. She stayed at the hospital awaiting the results for hours. She is extremely knowledgeable and kind.

When NO GI doctor believed me (all men), and 4 out of 5 surgeons, except for her, were dismissive and even cruel for my year and a half of severe chronic pain, she was the ONLY one who believed my symptoms, pain, distention was not in my mind, and that my research and belief that I was obstructed by something was likely so- Dr. Memsic was the ONLY surgeon or doctor who was compassionate, looked at all my tests and agreed it was very possible, and agreed to do the surgery as my body and organs were shutting down. She ended up spending 3-4 HOURS cutting ALL the adhesions tearing my organs from my breasts through my pelvis, torquing my right ovary 180 degrees (thus the severe pain) and saved my LIFE. This is the best doctor OR surgeon I have ever had. I would trust her with my family members' lives.

She is a kind and generous person with lots of heart. You know you are in good hands.

Dr. Memsic is one of the few surgeons in the country with experience removing hidradenitis suppurativa. I will remain forever grateful for her treatment of my daughter.

I highly recommend Dr. Memsic for surgery, I was searching for a hernia repair surgeon of which whom was skilled to do the repair without mesh, but i couldn't find one, and my Naturopathic Dr. heard from her patient what a great surgeon Dr, Memsic is. I drove 3 hrs. to her Beverly Hills office. As soon as i met her i felt so comfortable and all my worries of surgery dissipated. Dr. Memsic is so caring, and really gave me all the time i needed to answer all my concerning questions. I was so relieved that i did NOT have to go onto a hospital for the surgery. The surgery center is just across the courtyard from her office. I think she is incredible and i and so glad i chose her over the other surgeons that i interviewed prior to meeting her. Hi Reader, Not sure there is enough space to share all the things I admire in Dr. Memsic. Basically she saved my life and my sanity. I was a new arrival to California about four years ago. I am in my 60s and at this age I needed to have physicians in the case of any emergency. I was extremely fortunate to find a wonderful internist. We did a physical and that revealed an area of concern. It led to a biopsy and the referral to a surgeon and Dr, Memsic. I did do some research & Other Drs. Could not say enough about her skills and all had confidence that I was in good hands. When I met Dr, Memsic it was so refreshing because she Has the ability to speak frankly and explain with kindness The expected procedure. She takes all the time you need to answer any question and she literally answers them before you ask. She knows your fears and addresses them honestly. She is very experienced. As a added vote of respect and confidence for Dr. Memsic. About a year after our first encounter I had a mystery pain that Could not be explained. I went to several professionals & basically they said “I don’t know what to tell you but I don’t see anything wrong in your tests”. It could note be explained. And for two years it never went away.. the pain just got worse. I could barely think. I called Dr. Memsic although it was not something that she would normally take on. She listened to me and examined me and we discussed possibilities. I left without an answer. Two days later, she called me and sent me to two specialists .. she had discussed my problem. The same results as the previous doctors. The following week she called me again and she had me meet with a new specialist, and she was there with me. They both concluded they would look further into it and they would help me. They did follow through and within a couple of weeks I was properly diagnosed and a quick surgery changed my life. All I can say .. I have so much respect and sincere appreciation for her professional skills, honesty, and going way beyond to try and give me a healthier and pain free life. She’s a true treasure! Dr. Memsic was my "second opinion" after I was diagnosed with a recurrence of DCIS. My OB-Gyn recommended her after both she and her mother had Dr. Memsic do their surgeries. I met with her and she immediately became the "first choice" to be my oncology surgeon for my bi-lateral mastectomy. Her bedside manner and sense of humor put me at complete ease. She took the time to listen, answer my questions, and reassured me. She truly cares about her patients. Dr. Memsic is an expert in her field. My surgery went very well and I can't thank her enough! Her knowledge and skills are the best. I never felt I was rushed during appointments. She always took time with me and put me at ease. When I found out I needed to have a breast mass removed, I was terrified. I don't think there's anything that can quite prepare oneself for news like that. My doctor recommended Dr. Memsic and the Bedford Breast Center to me. He told me I would be in good hands. "Good hands" in an understatement. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure their patients are as relaxed as possible and they show kindness throughout. Beyond just being a highly rated, amazing surgeon, Dr. Memsic exemplifies the attitude of the staff. From the moment I first met her, she made sure I understood what would happen, tried to calm my fears, but also fully recognized how scary the situation was. In fact, at the end of my first appointment, Dr. Memsic had left and as I was about to leave, I remembered I had forgotten to ask her a couple of questions. I asked the nurse if there was any way possible to speak to her again, and Dr. Memsic came immediately back. There's not many doctors who would do that! She is ranked in the top 10 of her field and is also one of the warmest doctors I have ever met with great energy and a fun sense of humor. She will listen and answer all your questions and put you at ease. Traveled across country to have Dr.Memsic perform my mastectomy. She is not only a skilled, highly experienced surgeon, she is also a warm, compassionate and always appropriately humorous. I really enjoy seeing her and she always makes me feel confident, safe and relaxed. I interviewed 2 surgeons closer to home, one even at Mayo Clinic, but I found them to be cold plus they pushed for radiation prior to surgery. Not necessary, just to ease their job. Dr. Memsic said "I can do this" and she did without the pre-surgery radiation. I highly recommend Dr.Memsic and the Bedford Breast Center.

Not only is Dr. Memsic a fantastic surgeon, she is a doctor that you will look forward to seeing. She is warm, funny and engaging. My entire experience, from my initial appointment to determine if I required surgery, to the interactions with her nurses and staff, to the surgery and post-operation appointments, was phenomal. I was seen right at my scheduled appointment times and Dr. Memsic was always disarming and informative. I sent one of my colleagues to Dr. Memsic and she had a similar great experience. The surgery itself went very well and my recovery has been well ahead of the curve. I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Memsic, and while I hope I won't need any other surgery in the future, if I do she will be my go-to doctor.

Office staff is extremely professional, empathetic, and responsive. Dr. Memsic appeared to me to be extremely well qualified, experienced, and to have exceptional judgement. Was able to schedule a surgery very quickly, and it went very well. I have complete trust in Dr. Memsic and her staff.

What a wonderful doctor! Having a breast issue is never fun, but Dr. Memsic and the staff at the Bedford Breast Center were all so kind and efficient that it made for actually a positive experience. Dr. Memsic has a wonderful bedside manner-she’s very down-to-earth yet very caring. She listens and explains everything. The center itself is very comfortable—not at all cold and sterile. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Memsic and the Breast Center !

Saved my life!

I cannot recommend Dr. Memsic highly enough! I was so nervous about having a hernia repair and as soon as I sat down with Dr. Memsic I knew she was the doctor to perform this procedure. She listened to my fears and answered all my questions and on top of being a brilliant surgeon she has a wicked sense of humor which I really appreciate. She was wonderful! I had a very large hernia--- several years old. She fixed it! She was so pleasant as well as being professional, I would recommend her services to anyone. I enjoyed being with her and her staff immensely. She even called me at home the day after the operation to making sure I was doing all right. Dr. Memsic is one of our best surgeon. She is intelligent, expertise and caring. Every morning before 7:00 a.m. she was next to my bed during my surgery. She is indeed an angel. Love her so much. We are very lucky to have her.
