Dr. Lawrence David Robbins

Dr. Robbins is easily one of the best physicians I’ve ever had. He has a wonderfully calming demeanor yet takes your symptoms very seriously. In a world where headache/migraine sufferers are often disregarded by their doctors, Dr. Robbins is a shining light. I recommend this clinic to everyone I know with migraines!

I had been diagnosed with migraines since I was 15 yrs of age.I am now 48 and my migraines had been increased to daily. It was too much suffering and i was tired of neurologists just not getting it and I knew they were frustrated as well. I had an neurologist suggest Dr.Robbins and I have to say he changed my life for the better..His attention to detail is impeccable and I finally trusted again.He knew what i was saying and he took that time and care and with the highest level of dedication.Im finally getting relief and I'm on the right regime of treatments. I owe my life to this man because the pressure and the debilitating effects that occur are insane! Nobody will ever know until they are in one. The aftershock of each one leads you to a haze and daze effect. He also had a suggestion for that and it helped.. Brain fog is the worst after suffering for days with no relief.All I know is that if you need help you must see him. He is amazing and I'm living proof.Trust the sufferer

I just immediately felt comfortable because he understood and took his time and schooled me on certain medications. My first visit was very professional and his office had the migraine lights...I had never seen that before and I was impressed that they took the time to go over my meds and I couldn't be more pleased.I know there is no cure but you can find some relief anyone would take that over these excruciating chronic migraines. I honestly don't know what I would do without Dr. Robbins, Brooke and the office staff. I came to Dr. Robbins 5yrs ago with chronic migraine where I was going to the hospital twice a year and countless visits to the urgent care. I came to Dr. Robbins 5yrs ago with chronic migraine where I was going to the hospital twice a year and countless visits to the urgent care. Since coming to this clinic in 2017 I have not had a hospital or urgent care visit for migraine. They have compassion and are the best headache clinic in the Midwest.

Dr. Robbins is an amazing doctor, who truly cares about his patients. His reputation precedes him in the medical community, if you have headaches or any other neurological issue, he's your man! A true genius with medicine, and an incredible bedside manner. Highly highly recommend!!

I have used Dr. Robbins to control my headaches for close to 20 years. His goal is to stop the headache from forming, not just treat the symptoms.

Dr Robbins has an outsized ego and is highly impatient, which inhibited his ability to engage collaboratively and constructively with me, and ultimately to help me. Rather than educating and encouraging me to ask questions and be an advocate for my own health, he was quick to take offense when I asked a few very basic questions about the meds he was prescribing. My experience with him was disappointing.

Dr. Robbins is a great doctor! He is very knowledgable and he'll work hard to help treat your condition. There is rarely much of a wait in the waiting room as he does not overbook patients like many doctors.

Dr Robbins was unconventional in his approach. He was consistently late for his appointments and was not at all compassionate about my condition. He never did give me relief for my headaches and the best thing Dr Robbins did for me was to refer me to the Cleveland Clinic for advanced treatment.

Dr Robbins is very experienced and knowlegable in migraine management. I would have given 5 stars. Unfortunately his staff while polite in the office, are apathetic on the phone. They barely do their jobs and never offer any help when presented with a problem. When asked for help their attitude is that you bothered them. Forget about concern for the patient. This is a big deal because without an appointment you will never be able to speak to the doctor and have to rely on them.

Dr Robbins is absolutely amazing . I am his patient since 2011 and he is phenomenal. He always listen to me carefully and make me calm. He is an outstanding physician .

Dr Robbins, Brooke, and all the staff continually surpass my expectations. So glad to have found them. I will be eternally grateful. If you have headache problems, make an appointment.

Doctor Robbins dropped my wife after one visit. He said her case was too complex and he did not need the drama. I asked him how we can fix this since all she wanted was relief and he told me never to contact him again. Never see this guy. He wants easy cases only to improve his success rate.

23 years ago I use to clean Dr Robbins office. I told him I suffered from migraines. He told me when I first feel symptoms coming on take two excedrin and drink a coke. This man saved me. Best advice any person has ever given me. I have been passing on this advice to migraine sufferers over the years and have been helping these people. My thanks to Dr. Robbins. Truly a life saver. I am honored to say that Dr. Robbins has been my migraine specialist for 20+ years. When he first took me on as a patient...my migraines had recently escalated. At the first meeting..it was a full 2 hours going over documents i prepared from his detailed questions. We started a plan of action that first day! Doctor’s knowledge of treatments is outstanding! Sometimes it is just a slight adjustment in dosage that makes all the difference! Doctor is committed to make the journey through migraine as best as possible for you the patient. Compassionate, non judgmental, can do and never give up on you spirit! He makes you part of the team and gives you the tools so you can take care of yourself at home and minimize er visits. I belong to a Migraine group where you can ask questions etc...and i see so many struggling through their migraines without help. I am truly blessed that Dr. Robbins was there every step of the way..there when things went ‘south’ and when a treatment adjustment made a world of difference! And supporting him every step of the way is an incredible staff and an extremely knowledgeable Nurse Practioner. His staff understands the anxiey of the patient calling in and needing an appointment or med refill. They are there to help! When I needed a med on a vacation they were able to work with a pharmacy in my location to get me the refill. Also of great importance..that doesn’t get mentioned in reviews is that Doctor monitors with timely blood tests to make sure that treatment options are not causing difficulties...and if so...immediate changes are made. My local hospital has a slogan...’your Hospital for Life’....Dr. Lawrence Robbins is your doctor for all stages of your migraine journey! I have seen Dr. Lawrence Robbins for 28 years and there is no other neurologist in Chicago that could be as excellent as him. That goes for his staff as well. He is so well versed and knowledgeable in every area. One reason I have been seeing him for nearly 3 decades.

I have referred Dr. Robbins to many people. He is an extremely intelligent man, (he has a vast knowledge of many subjects) and is my go to for all things medical. Whenever I want a second opinion or a referral I always ask him. I have been seeing him for many many years and feel that he has taken the time to get to know me as a person. My only regret, is that he does not take insurance. I have found that he is worth the out-of-pocket expense as long as I can afford it though.

Dr Robbins understands pain, he works with migraine and fibromyalgia patients. He listens, he doesn't judge you He works hard at providing various medicines to provide relief. Other dr tell you headaches will dissipate and blow you off. Dr Robbins understands pain. He has achieved being one of the top 10 Neurologist for several years. If you suffer with migraines or fibromyalgia, he is one of the best doctors to find relief.

Dr. Robbins is caring and validating. He embraces various treatments and executes a thoughtful approach. Dr. Robbins stays current with research and upcoming/new treatments. I came to him feeling alone and misunderstood after suffering a devastating long-term bout of migraines. I know that I will never suffer like that with Dr. Robbins.

Dr. Robbins has helped me for many years with chronic migraine and cluster headaches. He takes a personal interest in his patients, is most compassionate, and forward thinking in his work. He has published numerous books and articles, and his work is a standard in the field.

dr. robbins has been my migraine doctor for 20+ years and has cared for me through the whole migraine journey. he has extensive knowledge of treatments and meds to work with.. he is kind and supportive. the staff is caring and understands the needs the patients have when they call in for help. doctor is very ethical and totally understands navigating options for your health. now i’m in FL..but i know i can contact him for a phone consultation . a rare and very good doctor!

After literally one year of a continuous headache, a litany of tests, and several failed treatments, I finally saw Dr. Robbins. His treatment plan got rid of my long term daily headache and reduced the number of intermittent migraines I have gotten. I can't thank him enough. I did have a little bit of a wait time, however he spent a good amount of time with me so I consider that acceptable.

Phenomenal experience. Dr. Robbins has greatly improved the quality of my life. I am not cured, but I am able to function again.

Dr. Robbins is an absolutely outstanding doctor. I have had migraines for 52 years, along with other conditions, and have seen many doctors. Without question, Dr. Robbins is at the top of the class. His knowledge in the field, and beyond is unsurpassed, and he is always at the cutting edge of new developments. He shows empathy for the patient and designs his treatment with the objective of improving the patient's quality of life as much as possible. He is truly superb in every respect.

I'd been living with chronic daily migraines for 3 years. My quality of life was suffering. I was depressed, in pain all the time. I'd seen 5 doctors, including 2 neurologists. They tried various things, not very effective. In doing research online I found Robbins but was wary - he doesn't take insurance and botox seemed iffy to me. I'm glad I tried him. Botox shots were the help I needed. Dr Robbins doesn't have a good bedside manner, but he knows his stuff. His Nurse (NP) Brooke is awesome.

I have been seeing Dr. Robbins for almost fifteen years. Not only is he incredibly intelligent and insightful, he is one of the most compassionate doctors I've ever worked with. He has dramatically improved my quality of life, and I don't know where I would be without his continued care. You cannot find a better doctor.

He takes a minimal amount of time at each visit. I also have been unhappy with the doctors he has recommended.

Other doctors he referred me to have not been beneficial - I have needed to hunt for further doctors independently.

Dr. Robbins is the smartest Dr. I have ever known. He is not only knowledgeable about neurology, but has kept up with studying the newest techniques for headache control as well as other painful conditions. He reads the studies on many topics such as holistic solutions to many problems and suggests different types of life changes, encompassing both diet and exercise.

When my migraines became more serious...I knew I needed to find a migraine specialist. After finding Dr. Robbin's book... I knew he could help me. The initial visit was about two hours going from an extensive 'work sheet' I filled out...and for the last, almost 30 yrs. Dr. Robbin's has cared for me on this journey called 'migraine'.
