Excellent doctor. Very knowledgeable, attentive and patient oriented, along with a great staff. He did a great job trying to figure out my unique condition and gave a lot of alternatives to try to make it more comfortable. He also has an on-site doctor who makes insoles, who is also a very good at what he does. I've had seven orthos, podiatrists, who all were in general agreement "I've never seen this before". I have been going to Dr. Mactavish Senior for 2 years and he recently did my much needed foot surgery to heal an ulcer. I highly recommend Dr. Mactavish, he is very kind and I trust him 100%! The staff is very nice as well, specifically Tony & Blanca. So grateful for this doctor and his team. -Rosie

The best podiatrist ever. I would recommend Dr. Mactavish Senior anytime - he is a caring, attentive, gentle doctor. He does not hesitate to address all issues of concern.

My husband and I have both been to see Dr Mactavish Sr. (I believe his son is also a Dr at this location?) He is a great dr! He is very kind, caring & gentle. I thought the office staff was very friendly. I had a plantar fibroma. I thought it was going to hurt, but it really didn’t hurt at all so I was relieved!! A few years earlier my husband had an ingrown toenail. We will go back to him if we have any more issues. Dr. MacTavish (at Red Oak location) is an excellent podiatrist, very experienced and caring. Unfortunately the facility and patients’ care is run as a place from “the getto”. My first follow up visit after surgery done by Dr. MacTavish, was shocking to see that they only changed the 1st layer of bandage WITHOUT CLEANNING the wound at all! Not even an alcohol swab to clean the surgery area, nothing! During 2nd post-surgery to remove the stitches, I asked to change the old (almost 3 weeks) wrap of my foot with the surgery, and shocking again, I was told that I could just wash it (it was old and stretched) because they will charge extra if they would change the wrapping piece (unbelievable!). Some of the staff at this location are very rude...others like Tony (Dr. MacTavish’s assistant) are very professional, sensitive to patient’s pain and needs and willing to go the extra mile to help patients. Another big concern at this location is the lack of respect for patients privacy. Thou the patient’s rooms have doors, Dr. MacTavish and his staff NEVER close the door to discuss patient’s issues in n privacy as ALL other doctors I have seen do. This is THE ONLY doctor and staff that disregard patient’s rights to discuss their health issued in privacy. So, when you visit Dr. MacTavish at this location be ready to hear everything from other patients and everybody else to hear you as well. No privacy! Dr. Larry MacTavish has my vote for Podiatrist of the year. After years of struggling with foot pain, he figured out my son’s foot problem, did surgery and took away his pain. He gave my son his life back, so eternally thankful for Dr. Leggett referring us to his friend and colleague Dr. Larry MacTavish.

Great doctor. I ruptured my Achilles last year and he gave me all my options. Now I am back to normal and will go here for all my needs Ok so here’s an update and I am knocking my rating down to 2 stars. I sprained my other foot and went online to schedule an appointment. I left my phone and email and explained that I was a current customer. I also text messaged and received a text back that I would be contacted right away. Well 10 days later I got a call. Thanks but no thanks I have already been to the emergency clinic after getting tired of waiting. Hopefully the dr will read this and get the online stuff fixed or turn it off Great doctor. Great doctor who cares and wonderful staff!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mactavish’s for several years now, and I can honestly say that he is one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting with. He takes the time to explain the issue in great detail, and also he only recommends surgery as a last resort! I truly feel blessed being able to call him my doctor! A++++

The doctors are great and liberty office staff are very friendly. Houston office staff is very rude. Would rate a 5 if houston office staff were more professional.

Dr. MacTavish and his staff in the Red Oak office have taken very good care of me and my foot issues (hammer toes - both feet). Very professional and knows what he is doing. Very small wait time before being seen. I can't say enough good things about this podiatric practice.

I was less than inspired by Dr. MacTavish. He was more involved in things outside of my exam room than with me personally. I am a Type II diabetic and was sent by my PCP for that reason. He never took a pulse on my foot or checked for lesions but instead decided to only address a toenail with fungus. He did cut all my toenails and even cut back the infected nail, so far back that he drew blood , however, he did address this with ointment and a band-aid. Not the best doctor appointment but n

The easiest way to explain Dr. MacTavish is good ol' country Texas man. He shoots straight from the hip, has a great personality and knows what he is doing. The office is fast, gets you in and out and doesn't waste time. Clean and efficient.
