Lawrence K. Chang

My visit with Dr. Chang was fairly quick and his staff were attentive and thorough. Dr. Chang is truly a patient first surgeon who was compassionate and understanding when dealing with my complex issues. He knew I wasn’t ready for what was ahead and he stepped back and let me reschedule even though it affected his schedule. I recommend him highly.

I was scheduled by this office for the Mohs procedure. Came in for that appointment and was told that the game plan had changed. No Mohs procedure, now Dr Chang tells me he wants to use a chemotherapy cream instead. Why schedule me for a specific procedure, and send info to me in the mail regarding that procedure and how to prepare for my appointment, and then change the game plan on me? Feeling very unsure now about using this chemo cream, which is a very strong drug, when the cancer could have been safely removed by the Mohs procedure with a much higher success rate! 30 second check...yep take the stitches out...hours later the wound opens up wide bleeding. Zero stars should be assigned.

Dr Chang is an outstanding Dermatologist! He treated me at Newport News office. He is confident, caring and kind. I highly recommend his services.

Not sure why anyone could complain! He was caring and thorough. His staff was incredible. He ran on time and explained every step of the way. Totally recommend his practice.

What a great experience! As a new patient I felt I was in good hands the entire time!

Dr. Chang is an excellent surgeon. He is also friendly and nice to be with. He actually gave me his cell phone number in case I needed to contact him. !! Imagine THAT!!

Responded to texts regarding post-surgery questions within minutes, and promptly scheduled follow-up visits at my convenience. Dedicated, approachable, excellent communicator, goes the extra mile to ensure quality patient experience.
