I hate to leave such a negative review, but I feel my experience needs to be shared. A few years ago I had my first seizures, while I was still under 18. Dr. Plawner was the neurologist on call at Swedish at the time. After discharge, I saw her a few more times, to continue to get to the root of what caused my seizures. Dr. Plawner told me that because I was taking an anti-seizure medication, I shouldn't still be having seizure activity, and anything I was feeling was all in my head, a.k.a. she told me I was crazy. I never saw her again, but have since been diagnosed with epilepsy by a fantastic neurologist, who has helped me greatly. I'm now on a medication that actually works for my body, and I've been seizure free for a while now. All of these wins are no thanks to her though.

We've seen Dr. Plawner for a few topics related to our kids. She's professional, knowledgeable, and she has a great bedside manner with kids. Her office assistance, Linda, is great about returning calls and helping with office visits.

We really felt that Dr. Plawner was a child neurologist who knew her stuff and so we stayed longer than we should have. We don’t want other parents/kids to go through what we have. It’s not worth it. After requests from other providers and ourselves for our son’s medical records (for over a year for records), even after he had an seizure episode, we have still not received records. Incredibly unprofessional. We even told her and office assistant and no attempt to change or repair. Office assistant would report back that she would let Dr. Plawner know and that Dr. Plawner knew that we weren’t happy. Guess it didn’t matter. My son had an EEG with Dr. Plawner in April. After numerous calls to her office to get the results, I finally received a voicemail from her today, letting me know that the test was abnormal. She said she didnt call earlier bc she wanted to see us in clinic but suspected our insurance had changed. So she let us go nearly six months without this crutial test result, during which time my son could have had seizures-- which happen while he's sleeping, in the middle of the night, and while his behaviour has changed, quite possibly related to the issue that showed up on the EEG. She could have told us this and allowed us to intervene for the health of my son, but she's not paid for phone calls, so she never returned mine. Meanwhile, her billing dept hounded me for payment of the EEG bill. I gave into the pressure and paid it in June, still without test results. I'm appalled and disgusted. We love her, she is an awesome doctor and person. She is great with our son and with us. She takes time to answer our questions, to explain everything and usually answers emails or return phone call pretty quickly too.

You have to call to schedule and appointment, no email, and they do not return phone calls or answer the phone. They do not provide medical records. They tell you to access them on Patient Fusion but do not give you the means to do so. The office staff is rude. Dr Plawner saw my son twice, did nothing of benefit either time and then it was impossible to get in contact with again. We asked if she could at least give us some referrals that never materialized. Has not responded in over a year.

I've been going to Dr. Plawner for my Myclonus an Dystonia for 9 years now! And every time I see her it's a great time, she cares about her patents and puts the best effort into finding a helpful way for me to get through my medical condition.

Dr. Plawner is very thorough and really explains everything in terms the average person can understand. She is careful and precise. We love her and her brain.
