The doctor was great, but never mentioned how expensive a brace for my hand would be. I went to check out and her staff told me I owed $165 for the brace (a thin melted piece of plastic with velcro attaching foam straps). I had already paid my co-pay earlier, so I asked what does the insurance pay. The response was, "Oh, you have XYZ Insurance, so you only owe $135." Are you kidding me!?! No warning, no estimate, initial overcharge attempt. UNREAL! Blindsiding patients with outrageous charges is unacceptable!

Dr. Hinojosa is spot on with her hand diagnosis and available cures. She takes the necessary time to explain the options from injections to surgery. Her office runs smoothly and the staff are very courteous. Never a protracted wait. Five stars.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hinojosa. She is kind, caring and listened to my issues. The pain I was in was not consistent with a person of my age so she easily could have disregarded it but instead she ordered a scan to see the damage. She made every attempt to control my pain with other methods before offering surgery as an option. She even mentioned stem cell and another injection that insurance would not cover to be sure I had all my options. Financially, these were not in the cards but I appreciated her giving me every possible solution even if it meant I had to go somewhere else to get it. Her bedside manner in the office, hospital, pre-op, post-op and after hours have all been amazing!! If you need a hand or wrist specialist...you cannot go wrong here!!! Decent at first, but has a hard time hearing your concerns as a patient. You know your body the best, right? She could be more preventative and think outside of the box instead of 2 minute office visits for every follow up after a procedure. She seems to lean on the "textbook" side of medicine, unable to diagnose individuals who have something abnormal, not in plain sight going on. Schooling makes a doctor but experience makes a good doctor.

I went there for my first appointment today and the front desk lady (also supposedly the office manager) told me they couldn't see me because I was 16 minutes late. The waiting room was empty. She was rude and condescending and make several sarcastic remarks. I asked her if they could reconsider since I was there already and she said she would ask the doctor. She kept me waiting for a long time and I couldn't leave because she kept my drivers license and insurance card. She finally came back and said the doctor said no. I then realized that she waited exactly 16 minutes to make a point. It was all very calculated. I can't believe someone could be so hateful. Unfortunately, I won't be going back because a bad office staff ruins a doctor's office and reputation. Wish I had 10 stars for Dr. Hinojosa, her staff and even the location itself. From the start and Fox News in the waiting room to her exceptionally caring, honest bedside manner this wins my favorite new doctor award. She takes the time to listen, she cares and she advises according to what is best for her patient and their family. Cannot rave positively enough, GO SEE HER if you're needing an orthopedics surgeon. I broke my right ring finger in 2017. I was referred by Dr. Millelo to Dr. Hinojosa. Dr. Hinojosa preformed surgery to fix my finger and did a horrible job and my ring finger overlapped my middle finger completely. I then had to PAY for ANOTHER correctional surgery and it is still HORRIBLE. It is crooked and bent and the screws are not flush with my bone. My finger is ruined because of Dr. Hinojosa. I will have to get another surgery. I would not recommend her AT ALL.

Best surgeon in the area!

A year after her "carpal tunnel" surgery on both my hands, I am still having problems with the one she messed up with her lack of surgical skills. Hopefully she matured some since then.

Worst hand surgeon. Been prep yesterday for my wrist surgery at UTMB Bay Area; Done with all associated test and procedures plus the green light from my Cardiologist. Then she just overheard somebody that I have a history of Heart Attack. She refuses to touch my hand, while i am in a lot of pain without confirming an evidence to the rant, plus NO recommendations to what will I do next. She just let me go. What do you call about this? Dr Hinojosa is an amazing hand and wrist specialist. She has treated two of my sons, my father and myself at different times over the years. She is an amazing doctor as well so being so kind, caring and professional.

I saw Dr. Hinojosa she worked me in after calling so many offices and could not get in. My surgery could not have been more perfect. She is tough when it comes to telling you the truth she wants you to know exactly what to expect and she doesn't lie and make promises. So pleased with her and her entire staff they were amazing so amazing I sent two other patients to her and they were very pleased with every thing she did for them as well. I will definitely continue to refer friends and family. She is amazing with children as well I witnessed on several occasions while in her office. She is the best in all of houston texas

A friend severely injured her hand. I referred her to Dr. Hinojosa. The hand was beautifully repaired and my friend has full mobility. I have great confidence in referring to this physician.

Love her!!

She was very knowledgeable about little kid hand fractures, and was excellent with my 3 year old. We have a great plan to get the fracture to heal. I was pleasantly surprised bybjer excellent bedside manner!

My daughter had a car accident in Houston, had surgery for a broken arm. Dr Hinojosa was very friendly and attentive. She even gave us her personal cell should we need her while my daughter was in hospital. We feel very good about a positive outcome in the weeks to come, the post surgery x-rays looks good. I would recommend her to family and friends.

My son had a nasty finger injury from baseball injury. She was understanding, professional, and very thorough. She explained risks vs. benefits very clearly. She called us personally to check in on him the weekend of the surgery. The outcome of the surgery looks excellent 4 weeks post op. Can't say enough about her or the wonderful staff at UTMB.
