Dr. Laura Elizabeth Regan

Dr. Regan totally cured the execema I've had for 15 years!!! She gave me a stronger cortisone cream than my reg dr had perscribed. Big fan of hers!!

I have been a patient of this practice for several years. Unfortunately, I needed to move to a insurance with high deductible and put off scheduling my yearly exam. As I will have new insurance in June I called to schedule my appt for July and the office refused to schedule til I had insurance and they refuse self pay patients. I can actually understand an new patient scheduling as self pay but an existing patient customer being refused. I feel like that is poor customer service. Dr. Regan is great- very knowledgeable, thorough, and able to talk to you like a real human. Best Dr. out there.

I am a new patient and was in and out in 35 minutes. Thats a record for me. Great service. You guys are bad to the bone!!

They worked me in fast and the staff was great

Awesome office! Dr. Regan is wonderful. I would definitely recommend James River Dermatology to anyone.

After a bad new patient office experience in September 2017 and an unsatisfactory return followup call, my 23 tear old daughter left a review on google about her experience at JRD. Within 24 hours she received an expedited 1 day USPS priority letter from their office stating they will no longer accept her as a patient. Wouldn't you think they would reach out to her to see how else they could help her if she was unhappy with their service? Had to put one star to be able to post this review.

I like the fact that Dr. Regan takes time to answer my questions and explains what I do not understand. She is witie, and a good Doctor! She has helped my skin complexion and condition. I like how she works!

I told the PA that the medication would not be covered and she was aware that if it was not covered that I would need a different medication. No response to my pharmacy. My assumption is that if there was a scaly skin condition taking over the face of the PA, there would not be this delay in responding to the pharmacy. I will look for another office that can prescribe me a medication that will alleviate my symptoms, preferably before it takes over my entire face and neck.

The staff is friendly enough, but I do not believe they are thorough. Unless there is a serious or recurring problem, you do not see Dr. Regan. I had an issue, that I was told was not an issue, for almost 18 months. Turned out I needed Mohs surgery.

Not thrilled with Dr Regan's rushed attitude. She was in and out of the exam room without asking if I had questions. Staff member had to answer my questions because doc disappeared to next appt. Not a good bedside manner - too abrupt and cold. Not returning to her office.

Went to see a "dermatologist" concerning skin issues. After dealing with office staff and interview, a PA arrived, asked questions and started an examination ending with taking two skin fragments for biopsy. I was told someone would call me and could leave. Several days later someone from the office (not Dr. Regan) called to say I needed a surgery referral and follow up visit, but since I was not a patient of Dr. Regan it would be 6 weeks. Saw another "doctor", received treatment immediately.

I kinda like this doctor in Powhatan Mental Health. I think she is too open with her options and I don't think it is right I am 35 years old and she is listening to my mother and won't give me my own meds she is making my mother handle all my meds like my mother requested. I am not very happy about this issue. I hope things get better with her and she will learn not to listen to my overprotective mother all the time. I see her again on Feb 17th at the Powhatan office. Dr, Regan has a dry sense of humor which works for me personally, but more importantly she knows what she is doing. She discovered cancer and pre-cancerous conditions on my body due to her thorough work. Her office is also very punctual and efficient - perhaps the best I have ever encountered.
