Dr. Laura E. Howe

My appointment with her was terrible. She profiled me and questioned whether I could afford a patch test. Upon my appointment I gave my insurance and they confirmed that it would be covered which is why I was under the impression that the patch test would be okay. I was scheduled a particular day that I waited weeks for in order to get a patch test and she tells me in our appointment, “we don’t do patch tests on this day” This upset me because I waited a month or so for this appointment. When scheduled I was told that the day I came in I could have one done.. within the appointment Howe made several comments about things finance related that didn’t need to be said or addressed. I’m not sure if it was my younger age that made Dr. Howe profile me and think that I couldn’t afford it. I do not recommend doctors who degrade their patients. At Bayside Allergy she’s described as someone who ‘is committed to professional and passionate care for patients of all ages”.. I disagree.

This upset me because I work very often and have a tough time making availability and in addition to waiting a month or so for this appointment. I was scheduled and was told that the day I came in I could have one done.. within the appointment Howe made several comments about things finance related that didn’t need to be said or addressed. Upon checking out I told the receptionist I will not be scheduling a patch test and will go elsewhere. I’m not sure if it was my younger age that made Dr. Howe profile me and think that I couldn’t afford it, but on her description for Bayside Allergy she’s described as someone who ‘is committed to professional and passionate care for patients of all ages’ yet I feel that once she stepped foot in the appointment room she did not treat me as an adult or a patient. I would not recommend Dr. Howe. I would not recommend Dr. Howe.

Excellent bedside manner and job of informing me of my progress. Any questions about recommended procedures, medications and studies were thoroughly explained. I enjoy and look forward to appointments. It's refreshing to have a provider actually patiently listens to symptoms/complaints, and then develops a plan of care that is easy to follow. During our interactions she has been very attentive and knowledgeable. I would recommend anybody who is having allergy issues to visit her.

Dr Howe has been my sons immunologist since we moved to Michigan almost 2 years ago. My son has a rare immunodeficiency and I have found Dr Howe to be knowledgeable, caring, connected, kind and extremely professional. She listens and accepts patient/parent input. I Would recommend her to anyone!
