Dr. Larry Dashefsky

I had a wonderful experience! Dr. Dashefsky was very thorough and meticulous. He asked a lot of questions and also took the time to review the binder I had prepared for him. He was running behind on time, but it seems a lot of doctor offices do as people can be unpredictable. There were two times he briefly confirmed with his nursing staff that his next patient had been told that he was running 20 minutes behind, but I never felt rushed. It just felt like natural communication between coworkers. He had a great bedside manner. He was absolutely wonderful. He spent over an hour with me, going through all of my symptoms and really trying to figure things out for me. He was great.

Very long wait time about 25 -30 minutes and there weren't any other patients in the place besides me, he just took a personal call and walked out like really?? Hes going over my perscriptions and asking me what the prescriptions are for it's like I don't even remember cause that was years ago.. he didn't even say he's sorry for walking out of the room he was gone for 10 minutes like really! I wouldn't recommend him to anyone! He then asked me why I saw all the doctors I did and he kept taking calls not professional. Went to him for second opinion on a possible nerve sheath tumor. Was told first off that if it was that there is probablNono cancerous, which is true but he couldn’t read my MRI and scheduled me 45 days out for ultrasound rather than sending me to the proper doctor to view them. Turns out upon making an appointment with new Dr without his directive I have been informed that my nerve sheath tumor has grown to be a 7x3x10 mass that needs surgery. 4 months this mass grew while he did nothing. After first seeing Dr Dashefsky a year and a half ago for a brain seizure, I continue to see him for follow up. Although I have seen other neurologists for subsequent visits, I consider Dr Dashefsky my primary doctor and feel he has offered me the best treatment possible. He has my full trust and I believe his knowledge and guidance are optimal for my recovery efforts. I would highly recommend him.

Was admitted to hospital for complex migraine with speech aphasia. He said hospital admission was not necessary and that "most migraines occur with speech aphasia"! Um, NO! How do I, as a patient, know if it's a migraine or a stroke, especially with a family history of strokes!
