I was told during my last nerve ablation procedure to make an appointment with him to make a plan for my back pain. When he came into the room he was very angry and told me that I needed to see his Nurse Practitioner. “I see hundreds of patients. How do you expect me to see all of them? Great Doctor, understands pain, goes out of his way to address the needs of his patients.

I have been going to Dr. Matsumura since 2016. On my first appointment he very patiently reviewed my medical history to try to get as much information as possible about how I came to be in the chronic pain that I have suffered from for 32 years now. He has great “bedside” manner. He ordered an MRI and some other imaging so that there would be a current set of prints in my file. With each visit I always feel like Dr. Matsumura has his attention on me. The appointments never feel rushed and he always asks me at the end of the appointment if I have any other questions. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Matsumura to help me better deal with the constant pain. I would give him 10 stars if I could. Great doctor that really knows his stuff. He has demonstrated to me that he keeps up to date on any new developments in pain management too.

Dr. Matsumura turned my life around after 2 years of dealing with severe spinal and thoracic pain from a car ax. My pain prevented me from running, skiing and working pain-free. I was initially treated by a local ER. Unfortunately, they didn’t do a simple chest X-ray after my airbags blew. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Matsumura who patiently listened to my medical history. He suggested starting with “the basics.” After a simple chest x-ray, he found that I had more than 8 fractured ribs!! Other ribs were healed and or healing. He referred me to an endocrinologist, who determined that I had osteoporosis (a bone disease that prevents bones from healing and leads to bone fractures.) I am extremely grateful to Dr. Matsumura’s patience, listening and persistence in diagnosing the source of my pain. One dr. thought my pain was psychological. Dr. Matsumura helped treat my pain while my osteoporosis improved and my ribs began to heal. He helped give me live again.

Absolutely love Dr. Matsumura and his PA Heidi. The only thing I have a problem with is when I have an issue and need to get an answer from the Dr. or have results read from an MRI no one calls back.

I walked in with mid-lower back pain that was ruining my life. In a single visit with an epidural, my pain dissipated to a tolerable level within days. This was after getting RFA with no results and a surgeon explaining to me there was nothing he could do. Dr. Matsumura is a miracle worker and has an equally amazing staff. Would recommend to anyone in chronic pain, even if you’ve been told you’re out of luck.

Wonderful doctor. I had no pain through or after the procedure. Staff was helpful and professional. I would recommend Dr. Matsumura to all that need spinal pain help.

I absolutely adore Dr Matsamura and all of his staff I deal with. I see them every month for my many chronic pain issues. I suffer from neuropathy, pains from past cancer treatment and a broken neck fusion. They all; Rosie, Heidi, Dr Matsamura and the rest of the nurses are so kind and caring about helping me. They have a very clean procedure room there so I don’t have to go other places for epidurals or RF treatments. Great people, at every level.

If I could give zero to the staff i would

Really bad experience, in my entire life i don't believe ive dealt with someone in the medical field that has been so unkind, condescending and incompetent. If you enjoy being pumped full of drugs, procedures not being done properly, getting totally torn into for wanting to ask the doctor some questions before a procedure and being told that you're being a waste of his time because he has 40 other people waiting up get this same thing done and needs to "get this over with". If you have a procedure, they'll get you in tomorrow, if you have concerns, questions, or issues, you wont be seen for over a month. $$$ > quality patient care. Totally greed driven. So unless you like being treated like a number, getting generic care that one box fits all instead of being looked at as an individual, than he's the one for you. Amazing doctor and staff, highly recommend them! I have been going their for several years and have never been disappointed.

This man is a wizard!! I have been fighting lower back issues for over 20 years. Doctor Matzumura is the only one to ever talk to me and take his time explaining what he want to do. I have never felt more comfortable talking with a doctor. He got me back to a tolerable pain. I still have to take med but at least they work now instead of barely taking the pain away. I highly recommend this facility. This man is a wizard!! I have been fighting lower back issues for over 20 years. I my opinion Dr Matsumura is a dangerous Dr, especially when it comes to prescribing pain meds. My sister was under his care when she overdosed. She had seen him for years , she had Chrones . She was given morphine suckers, OxyContin fetynal patches and more. Dr. Matsumura should have seen her addiction but no he just kept prescribing month after month and year after year. I have waited 4 years to get this off my chest, no he didn't make her take all these drugs but he prescribed them. She would visit us in Idaho Falls and Walgreens couldn't refill all those meds, because they didn't have all she took. Dr Matsumura finally kicked her out with a one month supply and a list of drug rehabs, which addicted people usually refuse to go to on their own. I only wish I knew how to have Dr Matsumura investigated as I would be interested to know how many of his patients have overdosed. I came in to see Dr. Matsumura after a bad accident with a shoulder that was already damaged. I could not sleep, work, or function for the pain. My orthopedic surgeon give me tramadol, which gave me hallucinations. He said there was nothing more he could do. After a thorough exam by Dr. M, and procedures with a fluoroscope and an ACCURATE shot of medication into the joint, the pain was gone within hours. I've had 2 failed back surgeries. Now I'm dealing with permanent nerve pain in my back and legs, I have been working with Dr Matzumura for a long time now. He helps me manage the pain, as well as deal with pain from arthritis in my wrist and elbow. Hes great, Hes very knowledgeable and doesn't talk down to you. Hes great when I get injections for migraines too. I recommend him to anybody who needs help!!! I've had 2 failed back surgeries. I am suffer from a damaged lateral nerve that was cut during hip surgery a few years ago. I'm only 47 but I can not describe the pain I suffered while in recovery from my hip surgery my implant worked perfect and not any issues with it whatsoever, its the sharp pain down my left leg. For 9 months I was felt like I was being called a baby, liar and all I wanted was pain meds. Finally the lateral nerve they severed during surgery finally surfaced. I turned to Dr. Matsurmura for help. He cares!!
