Doctor Doughty is a miracle worker with his surgical skills and bedside manners. His office staff and the co workers are very friendly!!

After suffering with worsening back pain and unusual left leg issues ( weakness, hypersensitivity, stiffness ) at only 44. My husband and I began to think there was no light at the end of the tunnel. We could not understand what was happening to him and if he would ever walk again. He was declining rapidly. My husband was seen by several doctors before meeting Dr. Doughty. No one was understanding the issues my husband was describing. By the grace of God we were referred to Dr. Doughty. We were so blessed that Dr. Doughty not only took on my husbands case, but did an Outstanding job. Dr. Doughty listened to my husband and answered questions with confidence. Dr. Doughty never made us feel rushed. He always explained the treatment options, MRI results and what to except with recovery time. Thank you to Dr. Doughty and his outstanding team!!!

I spine surgery in 2018 to relieve pressure in my spinal column. Long story short-I'm much worse off. I lost the ability to walk and drive. I am now restricted to a wheelchair with limited leg movement. Dr Doughty admitted to having placed the "wrong bore" of catheter in my spine. Nothing can reverse his mistake. Get another opinion better yet, get another doctor

I am worse off since my surgery. It has been nearly 2 yrs since he operated on my spine and my condition has not improved rather has slowly become worse. I sent him a letter to update my condition but he didn't have the courtesy to respond. I strongly recommend that you have a second option if considering surgery with this doctor

Dr Doughty performed my surgery Dec 28, 2018. I picked him because he did my neck surgery in 2011, and did an outstanding job. This surgery was more serious, as several discs were damaged in my lower spine, so he suggested a Laminectomy. The surgery was done, and now, 5 weeks later I feel like it was a success, and he did a fantastic job. I'm still recovering, but he was up front and told me from the get go that it would take several weeks or more to recover. Every day I'm doing better. When he did my surgery I couldn't walk more than 5 min without having to sit down. I had gained weight and was a mess physically. Now I'm back to work, exercising and have lost 25 lbs. He saved my life. He performed my surgery back on March 2012, he's the best and full of skill surgeon. I'm very lucky one to have him as my surgeon. Thanks God for him and Thanks Dr. Doughty for all you've done to saved me. Thank You!

I had a craniotomy and brain aneurysm clipping perfomed by Dr. Doughty. It pains me write this review because Dr. Doughty has really great bedside manner and is very kind, however due to the importance of my surgery and everything that went wrong, I wish someone would have written a review so I could have chosen more wisely. I am a nurse and believe me I asked many questions- I think he was annoyed by all my questions, but still took his time to answer them lol. I was not placed on prophylactic seizure medication after my surgery, causing me to have multple seizures after I was discharged from the hospital. I was readmitted to the hospital for an additional 7 days. I found out later (by my neurologist), after my family voiced numerous concerns about my speech and left sided weakness, that I had 4 small strokes. My neurologist told me after my post-op appt with him, he saw my MRI images and was shocked that no one had told me. I had to walk with a walker for two months after my surgery, had double/blurred vision (wore an eye patch), had great difficulty with work retrieval, and of course my memory was a huge issue. I went to see this neurologist only because Dr. Doughty kept telling me that he did not understand why I was not progressing, and that I should not be having these issues. He told me initially I would be back to work within 4-6 weeks (which seemed like a really fast recovery period time). I did not go back to work for 10 months later due to failing my neuropsych testing a couple of times. After it was all said and done and I had my last follow up visit with him I expressed with him how upset and disappointed I was that he kept me out of the dark and did not take the proper precautions to ensure that certain complications would not arise, he then went on to tell me that he had to use two clips for my aneurysm and he was unsure if it was even clipped all the way. He ordered another MRI, but because of the titanium clips/reflection he was unable to tell based on those MRI results. I am writing this review not to bash Dr. Doughty, but so other people who are scared or going through something similar to me can ask the right questions (I asked A LOT of questions-maybe 3 pages worth) and learn from my surgery. I dont think he had enough experience with my procedure. He was very kind and sweet, but I just wish he was more honest with me and took time to take precautions. Im still shocked that he did not pick up on the signs and symptoms that I had strokes while I was in the hospital, if I was cognitively with it I would have picked up on them. His office staff were also super nice and helpful. But the thing is when you entrust a doctor with a matter so serious you would hope the least you could get is honesty, complications can arise and some are unforeseen, but in regards to the seizures, I specifically asked him if was going to place me on anti- seizure meds just in case and he flat out said no. Even just writing this brings me back to that dark place where I thought I was never going to get better, and confused about what was happening- I was so depressed and sad.
