Going to the dentist is never an experience people look forward to (no offense dentists). I've come to expect Dr. Donahue and his staff to be welcoming, professional and take you on time. I must admit with this pandemic I was a bit concerned--though confident--that all safety procedures were in place. I waited in my car until I was called in, temperature was taken and hand sanitizer used. All staff had masks, as did I, and hair covered. I couldn't have felt more comfortable with the procedures put in place for all us. Again not surprised and very pleased.

Dr. Donahue did a great job when he determined that the root canal tooth didn't need a new crown at this point and that a more economical filling would suffice and provide all the restoration needed. I brought my 16 year old daughter in for a routine cleaning and the hygienist broke her lower permanent retainer. After she was finished she came out and said it was loose and just broke when I was flossing. The dentist even said it should not have broken from flossing. I immediately took her to the orthodontist who had to clean up the cement and wire mess and replace with a new retainer. My orthodontist charged me 50 dollars for the visit but waived the retainer fee which was very kind in my opinion. I was a little disappointed that the dental hygienist didn’t need even apologize.

I went to Donahue Dental at the request of my personal dentist, due to some work they would like for me to get done and unable to properly perform. Dr. Donahue was very personable and informative. He completely explained what the cause of my problem was and how to best correct it. He further would not perform what my dentist wanted to get done because it would have only been a temporary remedy and would cost more time and money in the long run. Should I decide to follow through with the treatment plan he provided, I would be more than glad to have him perform it.

I had to have a crown replaced after a root canal. Dr. Donahue and Katie gave me the excellent Donahue Dental service, as does the whole staff. The visit was efficient yet warm and friendly as always. Although the procedure would normally have required the replacement of the crown on the tooth that required the root canal, Dr. Donahue noted that the endodontist he had recommended had done an excellent job and as a result Dr. Donahue told me that in this case he would recommend a simple filling rather than a new crown. I am impressed that he can be counted on to recommend the best procedure for me, rather than just going with the typical option.

Fun environment by hygienist and doctor. They get that you have to work with your limited annual benefits so they don't push you to get everything done at once. I went in for a second opinion on getting a removable partial because I had several teeth taken out during surgery. I had been to one prothodontist but I felt the price was very high and they didn't take payment plans or Care Credit. Even though I would be reimbursed by my health insurance, I don't have the money to pay for it upfront. Dr. Donahue and his staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and professional. They did a thorough exam and took lots of x-rays and pictures. Dr. Donahue then went over my treatment options and was very blunt and honest (in a nice way!) and had an entirely different perspective than the first doctor did. Dr. Donahue took the time to explain to me why he felt the way he did about the treatment option in a way I could understand. He made me feel at peace to follow his recommendation. He also took the time to go over some options for a different dental matter I have and even drew up some estimates for it. While I will not be seeing him for the original treatment plan I went for, if I decide to handle the other dental issue, I will 100% go back to him for it. I very much appreciated his honesty with a very expensive dental issue.

I was at Donahue Dental this morning for a routine check and cleaning. The folks at Donahue Dental checked me in quickly and efficiently with a warm greeting. Jodi next took care of getting my x-rays completed and my teeth cleaned. She makes you feel less like a patient and more like an old friend. After my teeth were cleaned, Doctor Donahue popped into the exam room and examined my teeth for any problems and/or concerns. As he was checking my teeth, he talked to me in a easy mannered and relaxed way that put me immediately at ease. As is always the case, I was treated in a professional and caring manner. My visit was to take impressions for the 4 implant crowns in my lower arch.I was full of questions and trepidation. Katy was wonderful, gave great instructions and explanations as to what was going to happen not only during the process but the entire implant procedure . Dr. Donahue is a hoot ! I love his sense of humor and most importantly his knowledge and professionalism. The practice has all the latest " bells and whistle" of dental technology. Sara is a font of insurance information, Kim at the front desk always greets you with a smile. The "second" Kim abounds with dental knowledge and great patience in explaining your various options of treatments.The dental hygienist Jody made the experience a pleasant one. During my first visit, a year ago, I explained that I had a back problem and could not sit in the dental chair for extended periods. The entire staff have been very caring in allowing me to change positions and even stand during portions of my visits. They even let me bring in a small pillow for additional comfort. My take on this dental practice is one that has extremely knowledgeable, friendly, caring staff that respect each other and like what they are doing. Although I do not live in St. Charles county I gladly drive the extra miles to receive the care I have been given .

My 11 year old son and I just had our semi-annual checkups and cleanings and I can't think of a thing that would I could reasonably expect them to change. Believe it or not even he likes going there. As long as this staff is working there and I live in this area, I will never look for another dental office.
