Dr. Kimberley Ann Chien

Our newborn began seeing Dr. Chien at the onset of presenting symptoms related to GERD. While she may be an adequate diagnostician, she has a regrettable attitude and the bedside manner to match. Each interaction has left us scratching our head as her exhaustive note taking is not reflective of our current situation or what we have communicated.

Dr Chien took her time with me and my daugther. She asked a lot of questions, and addressed my daughter directly to include her in the process. She seemed genuinely concerned to help her with what is bothering her, and figure things out. So far, so good. I was happy with the first meeting.

Avoid Kimberley Chien at all costs. After over a month waiting for appointments she declined to see us for an asinine reason. Her assistants are disorganized and give erroneous information. Worst of all, her bedsidemanners are very brusque and unsuited to children.

Both my teenage daughters had an excellent experience with Dr. Chien. She was extremely thorough in her assessment of both and was appropriately conservative yet effective in her treatment recommendations. Thankfully, each has responded well to their specific dietary regimens and both are free of the adverse symptoms they were experiencing.

We had a really great experience with Dr. Chien. I was super anxious about my daughter's unclear stomach/digestive issues, but quickly felt reassured we were in good hands. Dr. Chien is incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in a way we could understand. She gave us recommendations without pushing and took the time to answer all my (repetitive) questions. The office staff was friendly and welcoming as well. I would definitely return to Dr. Chien and recommend her highly.

Dr. Chien was wonderful at being patient and explaining the issues during my recent daughter's visit. She even called me personally to discuss lab results. Amazing.

Please do not send your child to Dr. Chien. My child is worse off after her care than he was before. She is terrible at explaining things, quick to prescribe high doses of medication and willing to draw conclusions without conducting a thorough analysis. I have taken my child to two other pediatric GI doctors for second and third opinions, and they have both disagreed with her diagnosis and her prescribed course of action, as well as with all of the steps that had already been taken.

My preteen daughter found her it very hard to speak to Dr. Chien. Dr. Chien was courteous enough but somewhat cold. She didn't seem to understand that a preteen with stomach problems might have difficulty expressing her problems clearly.

Very thorough and professional. She's great with kids. My son felt comfortable with her right from the first visit. The staff is also great. Responsive and kid-friendly. Easy to schedule appointments and procedures. My son needed an endoscopy and the process was shockingly smooth. The endoscopy suite is really nice and they do a superb job of making the kids feel comfortable. She's easy to talk to and very receptive to input from parents in decision-making. Would definitely recommend her!
