Kerry Kathleen Shaughnessy

She was not at all personable nor did she act like I was a person,; felt like just a number. I think this practice gives too little time for doctor patient interaction. But she doesnt handle it well. Id never see her again. I see the PA Richard Gagnon who has been great for me and knows me.

My prior doctor passed away so I met with Dr. Shaughnessy for the first time and what a pleasant experience-- she was very comprehensive in her review and quite personable-- I felt very comfortable and confident in her expertise. Her assistant was also very nice.

Dr Shaughnessy was very professional yet friendly, and treated me and the office staff with respect. She answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I would definitely see her again should the need arise.

Office visit 24 hours following request. Dr. Shaughnessy was prompt, courteous, professional. Successfully identified a new problem different from my presenting complaint. Expeditiously arranged for biopsy and definitive Moh's Surgery within two weeks of diagnosis.

Dr Shaughnessy is personable, effective and timely. The office is well-run, it is easy to make an appointment and we've never had the long wait times that you experience in many medical practices.

I was well pleased with my experience. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shaughnessy. I feel that she is directing my care appropriately. The staff was very helpful. I was able to understand what treatment I was receiving and why. I would (and have) recommend Waters Edge to others.

I'm really surprised to see so many negative reviews. I did not witness any of the negatives that I read in the reviews. I found her pleasant and knowledgeable.

Wouldn't recommend her ever!

Dr Shaughnessy was rude and unprofessional to me. She performed cryosurgery on my finger wart 3 times. The first appointment may have been 5 star, but the 4th was a zero. She accused me of asking too many redundant and argumentative questions. That was never my attention and I sincerely apologize for taking up so much of her time. But I was concerned and confused because she initially referred me to a hand surgeon for a cancer biopsy. She described the wart's rapid appearance as "suspicious

Just had my first visit with Dr Shaughnessy and I am so impressed. She took her time and addressed all of my concerns. She answered questions that I didn't even know I had. I've been to a few dermatologists over the years, and this was the most positive experience I've ever had.

I went to Dr. Shaughnessy for a yearly checkup and I also had a growth that needed to be looked at. Dr. Shaughnessy did a biopsy of the area and it was determined that I had a cancerous growth. Surgery was scheduled and the growth was completely removed. I was nervous about the procedure but she made me feel at ease with her confidence. I found her to be a wonderful Doctor very caring and thorough. My incision looks so cosmetically pleasing. She is a brilliant Doctor. 5 Stars from me very happy!

Shaughnessy is an awful doctor. Waters Edge should be careful who they have representing them. She is belittling and unprofessional to the other staff as well as patients. I have witnessed some behaviors that made me cringe and wonder how she is allowed to practice medicine or interact with patients and other professionals in that manner. She also doesn’t follow HIPAA laws. Beware that your medical information becomes public with Shaughnessy. Zero stars is more appropriate of a rating.

Dr. Shaughnessy -Dont know why her star rating was low I found her to be very professional, has a pleasant attitude along With answering your questions appropriately. Went to see her she dianosed my skin problem took care of it then had another appt. for a follow up, and now I don’t go back for another year. She’s a keeper for me! Just Lover her!!!

Worst Doctor Ever ! Very lazy, egotistical and uncaring.

Unpleasant and unprofessional. Seemed bored and unable to focus on conversation. Wasn’t interested in any patient input. Recommended treatments did not work.

Did not find Shaughnessy helpful or knowledgeable. She rushed through my appointment. I didn’t get to ask questions I wanted to. She seemed distracted and uninterested. It’s definitely a pass on this doctor if you are looking for someone who actually cares and wants to help you.

This is such a rude and arrogant doctor. She left a scar on my face and acted like I should be fine with it. When I questioned what I can do to fix it she told me she could refer me to a plastic surgeon. Run from this doctor and def think twice if she wants to do a biopsy! Get a second opinion and let them do it!

Dr. Shaunghnessy was very quick to perform a scar making biopsy on my face. She said it looked like a pimple, but when I said my brother had a basal cell in the same place she immediately went for the biopsy. I wish she had me come back in a week because there was no cancer but it did leave a permanent pock mark scar. As I asked about scaring, she ignored my question and went for the biopsy. Needless to say, I never went back.

I have seen this “doctor” a few times. I chalked up the first visit with maybe she is having a bad day. I will tell you it got no better. She is the worst “doctor” I have ever been to in over 60 years of going to doctors. I was appalled at how I was treated multiple times by Kerry Shaughnessy. I am leaving my appt in disbelief. I should also add this is the first online review I have ever done, I thought it necessary after my experiences.I want to save someone else from this horrible service.

Shaughnessy is good at referring patients to other doctors. She herself doesn’t possess the knowledge or skill to handle cases that aren’t basic and/or obvious. She also lacks the ability to be compassionate and empathetic to her patients. Unless you have a situation that is textbook easy you might consider starting with another doctor to begin with. Save your money and time. She also seems to get flustered and rude if you ask a question she doesn’t know the answer to. Very egotistical.

Dr. Shaughnessy saved my life after discovering a malignant melanoma. She performed immediate 2 hr. surgery and has been a godsend to me and my family. Thankfully she referred me to Moffitt and I underwent extensive treatment. I’m now seeing Dr. Shaughnessy for wound care from the surgery performed at Moffitt. She has been outstanding at every level, and my family now have her as thier dermatologist. I’m now cancer free - thank you Dr. Shaughnessy!!!

This is the worst doctor Waters Edge Dermatology employs. I have seen several over the years and am quite surprised she is still working there based on the level of care I have always received, until now. I found her to be rude and unsympathetic to what I was going through. The only reason I saw her was because the other doctors were booked and she was the only one with availability. I can now see why! She is unprofessional and treated me with disgust. I felt worse leaving then when I came in.

Helpful staff and pleasant, knowledgeable doctor. Plan on seeing her on regular basis.

If I could give no stars I would. I just left Waters Edge Dermatology where KERRY K. SHAUGHNESSY saw me. She was judgmental, condescending and very rude. I was there for help, not to be judged and unfortunately Kerry has no empathy or social skills to make her a good doctor. I feel very sad for her. And even more sad for her patients. Its a shame Waters Edge hires doctors like her. The other staff was awesome and very friendly... Kerry could learn a thing or two from them.

Wish I would have checked out this site BEFORE my appointment. The other comments are spot on. Be prepared for her to blame you if treatments, medicine and/ or recommendations aren’t working. I would not recommend this doctor to any of my friends or family. She definitely needs a refresher in her bedside manner coursework. My ailments got worse under her care. Went to another doctor and was cleared up right away.

I can’t tell you how condescending and unsympathetic she is. She is rude, unreliable, and also not knowledgeable. After she declared that I needed to see a specialist in Miami, she told me she didn’t handle cases like mine because I ended up in the ER. I have been a patient of Waters Edge for years and never met such a self involved individual. She needs to learn patience, smiling, and being kind to patients but I think she is incapable.

I was seen at the VAMC in Augusta, GA while Shaughnessy was doing her residency. I rate her practice fair at best. I found her to be condescending and very defensive when presented with proven case studies for my dermatological issue. She may be Harvard grad, but Junior college level in the way that she spoke to several of the veterans prior to seeing me. Perhaps she has matured since her residency.

As a retired clinical social worker, how you treat a client/patient is as important as what the patient is being treated for. I find Dr. Shaughnessy's patient relationship superior. She is friendly, caring and real. You instantly feel comfortable with her. I have gone to dermatologist for over twenty year, in New York and Florida, and her knowledge and surgical skill is superior. She is the all around best Doctor I have visit.
