Reviews for Dr. Kenneth Aaron Mair
Dr Mair has helped me keep my thyroid issues under control for just about 4 years or so now. My levels have never been this low before and it's all because he listens and offers advise and options!

I would give less stars if I could. Just do yourself a favor and don’t do it. Waste of time
Dr. Mair is one of the best doctor's I've ever seen. I've been seeing him for the last 5-6yrs and he is very caring, has a ton patience and most importantly he listens.
Dr Mair has become more than a doctor to me, but a friend. For going on 20 yrs, he has put up with my half hearted attempts to get control of my diabetes. The problem is with me, not him. I probably frustrate him, but yet he seems to understand and tries to get rid of this mental block that I have. He is a good Dr and a good man. That might be way he can't take on more patients; his book might be full. Dr Mair has become more than a doctor to me, but a friend. I can't recommend this doctor enough. Before moving to Texas, I had terrible experiences with former Endocrine physicians near Atlanta. I had Hashimoto's disease for years . I got in to see Dr. Mair at the time of suspected thyroid cancer. His care as a Doctor has been Top notch. He is able to explain things, he is on- time, he spends adequate time with each visit and answers questions. I would highly recommend this physician to anyone with an endocrine disease. I had to wait several months to intially get seen, but once I was a patient there it was easier. I feel like Dr. Mair is one of the best Doctors in Fort Worth. Highly recommend him. Great disposition. He is thorough, shows empathy, kind and a listener. He patiently answers every question. He takes the detailed history. I look forward to working with his skilled expertise. My NP also said if he was needing his care he would be seeing him & only him.
I cannot recommend this Doctor enough. He has been my Doctor 5.5 years. When I had thyroid cancer and a nodule, I was afraid from hearing the word" cancer " from the Surgeon. Dr. Mair is kind and professional and very knowledgeable. His bedside manner is excellent. He explains treatment very well. His Nurse, Debbie, is the best. I would recommend this physician to anyone!
Dr. Mair's office would not speak to me and refused to work with me on a condition that caused me to be referred to them by another physician.
OMG!!! What a great doctor, nurse and front staff. I could not have been more pleased!! Dr. Mair is wonderful. Very straight forward and matter of fact. Answered every question. Presented all options, then let me choose! Debbie, his nurse, is an asset to his office. Very warm and nurturing! His front office staff is efficient and friendly. Highly recommend the whole office. Dr. Mair gave me possibly the most thorough exam I've ever had. He discussed all possible treatment options & let me be a part of deciding what medication I would end up taking. He listens, he is thoughtful & he is prompt.
It is so reassuring to have an endocrinologist to monitor your thyroid and diabetes on a contineous basis. Thyroid levels change and require medication adjustment. Dr Mair watches my levels through blood work. Very important and appreciated.
Dr. Mair is a world class Dr. He is thoughtful and takes time understand my circumstances and recommend proper treatment for my T1 diabetes. He challenges me to better manage my T1 and recommends the tools and regimen to do so. My experience working with his nursing staff between office visits has not been as positive--with poor response times and limited access.
Excellent endocrinologist. Very thorough, takes time to explain in detail and did a very detailed exam. Also like he says what he thinks and is not tied to any device provider. He is definetly working on your behalf not the drug or medical device companies. Highly recommend.

He is very professional and knowledgeable. He has taken very good care of me in the management of my medical needs. His bedside manner is spot on and his staff is awesome.
He was able to help my husband reduce his weight and get off of all insulins. My husband went from 306lb to 194lb currently. He now has great sugars, a totally normal HgbA1c, and a fighting chance to live a lot longer. This didn't happen over night, but it did happen. Thank you!
I find his office to be very professional. The staff that I have met are very helpful and very knowledgeable with their task and in answering any questions that I have.

My Endocrinologist had moved and I was looking for a new one. I had to get a referral from my Primary Care Physician and full blood work up to see Dr. Mair. I had some alarming numbers, so I was anxious to get in. They told me it would take 10 business days for him to review my case. I waited 3 weeks and began to call every other day to find out when I could just get an appointment. After 7 weeks this morning they call to tell me he will not accept my case. I now have to start all over!

Very pleased with Dr. Mair; I actually live in another city; but love Dr. Mair's bedside manner, knowledge and care. Best endro I have found since I started with thyroid nodules years ago.

Dr. Mair came highly highly recommended. I had my first visit with him yesterday. The first thing I noticed was how smoothly things were run in the office. The staff is very friendly and warm. He was very thorough, very helpful with educating me on important factors. I felt very cared for and will definitely return and looking forward to a positive doctor/patient experience for many years. Long time patient of which I prefer to not get into detail, but I do not recommend. I am shopping otherwise. While issues may be with staff, they are the wall barrier of the care you receive - in between your face to face, which is all questionable, for the cost and number of routine visits. Then if all care falls through the cracks when you are not face to face, what do you have any way? Or face to face is completely different from dealing with staff/in between visits, etc.

They don't care about new patients
Unless you're a diabetes pt you AREN'T going to be considered. I was told 7-10 days for him to evaluate my REQUIRED referral (3 pages, male hormonal issue).. At DAY 17! I had to call them myself to find out my status. Their response...doctor too busy with diabetic pts, sorry he isnt going to see you. Must be the diabetes cash cow that fuels this office. Thanks! Was with Dr. Mair for 12 years. I was self pay and was late with paying off my balance. Billing said if I called back and made my payment I could get my yearly appointment. I am now on insurance. I called back within a week to pay and now they say I can no longer be a patient there. I think it's not good practice.
He's a little quirky, don't get me wrong, but in a good way. I see him for thyroid and type one diabetes management. He does a really good job answering questions (even if I've asked them before) and knowing when to yell at me for slacking off with management. I drive an hour to see him through Ftw traffic from Denton. He's just that good. He's a little quirky, don't get me wrong, but in a good way. I see him for thyroid and type one diabetes management. I found the staff to be very rude. It takes you forever for them to answer the phone. I was on hold for over 10 minutes. Then I was told that I couldn't come there for a second opinion. I have never heard of that, in my life. Then the secretary said did you leave a message, did I need to call you back? This shows how incredibly backed up they are, and I will not recommend them to anyone. Obviously, they don't need any new patients.

Understand first that this Doctor will only take you on referral or at least, that was what I was told. I was also told that it could take up to 7 to 10 business days before I would receive a return phone call. I found Dr. Kenneth Mair through a website for thyroid disease with a list of endocrinologists reputed to be caring physicians that wouldn't simply dismiss symptoms of what could be a thyroid problem and would listen thoughtfully and be as helpful as possible. Now I didn't mind that it was on a referral basis or that it would take time to look over my records. If he was a good doctor, then the wait would be worth it. I didn't even receive a phone call from his office. His office called the nurse practitioner at my ob-gyn (which is where they discovered that I had elevated TPO antibodies and promptly put me on medication, which only helped part of the problem). He told her that according to my labs, he didn't need to see me because my levels were "normal". In the words of the lab tech, "Well of course your levels are normal. You're on medication." It's not at all unusual to have "normal" levels and still have a slew of bad symptoms. It's also not unusual to be on a form of synthroid and still have problems. If you're a thyroid sufferer and you're levels are "normal", don't bother with this doctor. He won't see you. Maybe if you're diabetic, you'll get the care you need. I'm writing simply to combat a negative review of Dr. Mair. Most people go to the doctor because the doctor knows more about medicine than the patient. When the patient isn't satisfied because the physician hasn't done what they thought he or she should do, they get angry and leave critical one-star reviews. This is unfair. My personal experience, as a patient of Dr. Mair's for a few years now, has been exceptional. His office is well-run, efficient (meaning I don't have to wait an absurd length of time before seeing the doctor), and friendly. Dr Mair himself is very proficient in his field of practice. He clearly keeps up to date on current "best practices" and is well-versed in the medical literature. He doesn't continue certain treatments or practices because that's what has always been done; rather, he practices evidence-based medicine and can discuss with me the reasons behind why we're doing what we're doing. He is also good at putting things into layman's terms so that they're understandable. His demeanor is very professional, and he ensures that when I visit him he spends enough time with me that I don't feel "ripped off." One warning, however: If you're doing a poor job of managing your diabetes, he will let you know about it! This, of course, could really turn some folks off. He really seems to care about his patients and their health-- which includes reprimanding us at times. I'm writing simply to combat a negative review of Dr. Mair. I saw Dr. Mair yesterday for the first time. I was a little nervous because a lot of doctors don't listen to you and hurry you on without actually helping. That was not the case at all. Dr. Mair's nurse was very nice and explained what to expect for the appointment. Then Dr. Mair came in. He had very professional bedside manner and was very kind. He did a thorough exam, explained everything very well, and gave me treatment options. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is worth the wait for getting an appointment. I chose him based on reviews I had read and the fact that he is board certified. Excellent physician. I saw Dr. Mair yesterday for the first time.
