Dr. Kelly Walker has helped me for the last 21 years. She is wonderful to be around!

The staff is unpleasant. The nurse does the entire assessment and all the work. Dr. Kelly barely talks to you.

DO NOT TRUST DR.WALKER - Dr.Walker prescribed a mix of medication that caused me to develop Serotonin Syndrome and toxicity. Dr.Walker did not believe me when I was reporting side effect after side effect. She deemed my “histrionic” and ignored my complaints. She instead increased the dosage (never ordering a blood draw) and it wasn’t until I had SEIZURES that I was heard. Dr.Walker’s pure negligence resulted in my near-death at the age of 20. I've been a patient of Dr. Walker for several years now. When I first started seeing her I was very depressed. Now, with the help of her and her staff, I am a completely different person. She also helped me with quitting smoking. It'll be 7 years in September. Thanks Dr. Walker and staff.

Dr. Walker has saved my life. For decades, I’ve been attempting to find a med combination that doesn’t cause me to become a flat, mouth-breathing, unrecognizable version of myself. During my first visit, Dr. Ninja Walker was able to give me the meds I have been searching tirelessly for. First visit! She offered me stability, but most of all, she offered me hope. She is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable about a range of mental illnesses, and willing to listen to her patients. I would recommend her services to anyone seeking psychiatric assistance. Ive been going to Dr Walker for 20 years now. A nurse takes you back and goes over all your information then relays to to Dr Walker, so when she walks in the room she is prepared to work with you. I see the doctor every single time I go. I fully trust her with making sure im always taking the medications that work best for me.

Unless you’re looking for a prescription without proper diagnosis, then don’t go. Otherwise you could probably walk in there and tell her something is wrong with you (whether it’s true or not) and she’d prescribe you pills. Dr. Walker spent little time talking to me & trying to get to know me as a patient, she just came in the room with her prescription pad saying I needed to be medicated because, ‘do you really want to live your life this way?’. Dr. Walker diagnosed my husband in his words, as the most ADHD adult” she ever evaluated. She prescribed high doses of Ritalin without ever recommending a physical examination or insisting he have a physical work up before continuing Ritalin. He had an undiagnosed blood cancer that was affecting his cognition. As far as I am concerned she is unethical in her practice and contributed to his death. Having been a patient for several years I can say with certainty that the service and quality of care I have received from Dr. Walker and The Center for Family Psychiatry has been nothing but excellent. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional whether it be simply scheduling appointments or providing information and effective solutions regarding even the most complicated mental health issues both during appointments or in the case of a mental health emergency. Dr. Walker herself is extremely well versed and up to date on all of the latest medications as well as alternative treatment modalities for all types of mental illness and really takes the time to get to know her patients in order to provide a plan of care that is tailored to each individual patient and provides the best possible chance of success. It is highly evident that both Dr. Walker and the rest of the staff at The Center for Family Psychiatry care deeply about improving the mental health and quality of life of each of their patients. I would highly recommend this physician and her staff to anyone that is need of a mental healthcare provider in the Knoxville, TN area. My mother was going to Dr. Walker for anxiety and since she doesn't take Medicare she was charging $145 for a visit and usually just saw the nurse. My mother finally decided to stop going to her and cancelled her appointment two weeks in advance and they charged her $20 for cancelling the appointment. I would never recommend Dr. Walker.

Absolutely the worst place for anybody with coexisting problems.I was blacklisted before I even got to see the doctor.A true Addiction doctor would at least talk to A patient before refusing to treat. JUST FOR The record I am A very polite nonviolent person.

ALWAYS! I have recommended Dr. Walker to many, she is amazing at every aspect of giving her patients the compassion and sternness when need be and I say that because I am seven years sober and bipolar in remission (NO MEDS) thanks to Dr. Walker! I am also going into my third year of psychology major, concentrated in substance abuse counseling and she has went over and beyond to assist in furthering my education and future life goals! Thank you and your beautiful staff for never giving up on me!

Dr. Walker is the first doctor who I found who knows psychiatric medication. She has a great personality and I look forward to going to my appointments!
