My wife and I saw Kayo for couple's counseling. During therapy sessions, we felt heard and could express ourselves freely. Homework surrounding effective communication really helped my wife and I become better partners. Kayo's a great therapist who combines warmth and relatability with clinical know-how and insight. Kayo is a wonderful therapist! I "saw" her for about a year during the pandemic and would still be seeing her had I not moved out of state. She helped me immensely with issues around anxiety and depression, as well as suggesting and guiding me through an ADHD evaluation, which helped immensely. Getting to speak to a therapist who understood the issues around being an Asian American woman was also amazing. I have been working with her consistently for about 4 years, and she is an effective and compassionate counselor who focuses on developing your toolbox of coping skills so you can live a full and happy life. Kayo is a wonderful therapist, and I highly recommend her, especially for help with depression and social anxiety. Kayo was the first therapist I had ever seen, and she made me feel very comfortable and listened to during my sessions with her. She is an active listener who offers thoughtful insights and suggestions. Her approach is straightforward while also being compassionate and perceptive. Kayo lifted me out of a pattern of shame and guilt surrounding childhood traumas that I never thought I would be able to heal. We worked together for 3 years, during which she guided me through the process of deconstructing, accepting, and eventually overcoming an enmeshment loop I had been stuck in for my entire life. She held space for me to heal my past subconscious trauma while holding me accountable and giving me practical tools to manage my present/future life (career, school, health, relationships, etc.) More importantly, she helped me identify the connections between the two. She approached my needs with a variety of different techniques, taking into account my specific values. Whether it be through guided meditation, emotional visualization, reflective worksheets, etc., her approach is effective and practical, and she is willing to dive deep alongside you. She was also willing to combine her expertise with others'. For instance, she recommended me to her acupuncturist for my physical symptoms. Overall Kayo is an incredible therapist. Kayo is a great therapist, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for help with depression and/or anxiety. I have learned so much from her over the last two years about communication skills, relationships, healthy habits, self-compassion, and dealing with grief. Her approach has helped me address issues as they come up in everyday life and then explore more deeply how they are connected to old thought patterns or past trauma. I have been a client of Kayo's for 3 years and cannot recommend her enough. I had been dealing with social anxiety, panic attacks, and depression and with her guidance I have made major breakthroughs. I am happy to say that through our treatment plan, which includes meditation and CBT, I have conquered my social anxiety and have been panic attack free for about 2 years. Kayo is both honest and supportive and has helped me improve my outlook and experiences with interpersonal relationships, professional/career goals, and my inner critic.
