Dr. Kathleen L. Kornafel

Went there August 2022 worst office ever you can never get a hold of them. And the Doctor was not pleasant her self I have an Endometrioma ovarian cyst. Dr Kornafel said I pretty much just have bad luck. The worst thing a doctor can tell you. Then she wanted to do treatments which included for me to get some blood work done while I’m on my period to check out my hormone level. They never gave me the blood work paper work to get it done. I called the office multiple times. Spoke to the receptionist girls and gave them my email they still did not send me the Lab orders for Labcorp. Till this day I have not received anything at all. Don’t go here and waste ur time. Oh but they were so quick to send me a bill. Yet no labs I shouldn’t be checking on this office multiple times just for them to send me lab orders this is unavailable. Please don’t go here ladies the Doctor makes you feel awful and is inconsiderate. No Doctor should tell a patient they have bad luck. Unbelievable!!!!! Awful office.

I will NOT be going back to this office. While seeing Dr. Kornafel, she talked to me incessantly about her daughter and pets, and other unrelated things for what seemed like an entire hour before she even began my check-up. It was like she had zero regard for my time and the fact that I had other things planned for the day, outside of being at the gynecologist. So the visit was MUCH longer than it should have been. And then, the worst part, I was tested in the office during my appointment 3 WEEKS AGO, and still have not received my test results. I have called 6 times and left 4 messages. No one has answered my calls, nor gotten back to me regarding the voicemails I left. When it called them and left a voicemail before my appointment, they got back to me very quickly and answered the questions I left in the voicemail. So I know they listen to their voicemails. I have also gone onto my Labcorp profile in hopes to find my test results, since my gynecologist is withholding them from me, and I did not see results for what I tested for. I only saw results from the Pap smear. So I’m wondering…did they even send my samples to get tested at all?? It’s very strange and I’m wondering if this is even legal. Because if I need to get a prescription, I am unable to and wouldn’t even know if I need to or not since they’ve failed to send my results to me. It’s truly a horrible experience and I am concerned for my own health. ALSO, I should add, that after my first visit last year, they tried to charge me for an ultrasound, when I never even got an ultrasound done! I will NOT be going back to this office. Really confused what is going on. I was referred to Dr. Kornafel by my primary care physician. When I met her, I had a great time. She was super thorough, took her time to explain the reproductive timeline and what my next steps are, and an easy going personality. The staff young lady was super friendly! My experience thereafter, would've left me to leave a 1 star to be honest, because I needed to do two blood tests. when i called and left a voicemail before, i would get a call back to answer my questions. but after my two blood tests were complete for my next step, I called either twice or once a week, left voicemails, sent email to the dr, and its going on 5 weeks and still no one ever got back to me. I'm so confused. I've never had such a delayed response from the doctors office. I consider infertility concerns a bit time sensitive and would have moved to my next doctor right away if there was some kind of hold back. She’s through and very personable. She is direct but do we really wants smoke and mirrors at the gyno? She explained every procedure and made me feel comfortable and informed about course of treatment.

went to Dr. Kornafel when my previous gyno was unavailable and when I mentioned a symptom of a condition I have, told to me by my usual dr. she said "that doesn't sound right because if you google that it wouldnt come up, it doesnt sound like something you would be able to find on google". To which of course I answered that I didnt read it on google i was told by my DOCTOR. Which she still dismissed b/c you cant "google it". I didn't realize she got her medical information from google but just to humor her logic, I actually DID google it out of curiosity and GUESS WHAT? Worse person every. Do not go with her. I was with her for 1.5 years for gynecology/obstetrics and infertility. The office is all over the place. did not give me price for infertility that she was pushing me to do. did not want to know the cause or figure out the cause of the infertility. Plus it was all over the place with no clear communication. Today i visited her for gynecology annual exam; i explained to her due to financing HRD pasadena offered; i went with them but i wanted to use her as gynecologist; she told me im not their lacky or intern go find another gynecologist; she would do my pap smear but after that to find someone else. She is all about profit to get you to go with her IVF clinic. This was worst experience i have ever had with a doctor of any kind. I told her due to her raising her voice, her body language towards me and her attitude i rather just leave the office; she told me get out. Worse person on earth only for profit. Worse person every. I’ve been going to Dr. Kornafel now for 3 years and I absolutely love her! She was my first gynecologist and made me feel very comfortable for my first Pap smear when I was feeling extremely nervous. I completely trust her because she is blunt and straight to the point, which I find especially helpful in doctor’s appointments. In addition to being a great doctor, she also is a wonderful conversationalist (which perhaps is why she’s so good at what she does). I find that my appointments always feel much shorter than I expect them to be, even when I got my copper IUD and my colposcopy. She distracts me with topics like my favorite fruit, her family, celebrities and videos I should watch, and before I know it, she’s done and I’ve felt no pain. I also recently tried another gynecologist because they work in the same office as my primary care physician and I know how safe they’re being during this time, and realized how important to me it was that Dr. Kornafel can perform pelvic ultrasounds and a colposcopy among other procedures. The other doctor sent me to an entirely different office with a male doctor to perform a pelvic ultrasound to ensure my IUD was still in place because she didn’t have the equipment to do so, which was inconvenient and uncomfortable (I prefer female doctors looking down low). And once my results came in, she was going to refer me to another doctor to get a colposcopy, at which point I had wished I just stuck with Dr. Kornafel in the first place because she would have been able to perform all of these procedures in one place and at that point I wouldn’t be risking going to so many new offices without knowing their operating procedure during the pandemic. Today, I was pleased to find that Dr. Kornafel again made my appointment quick and painless, and I felt safe the entire time as I was the only patient in the office at the time of my visit. Everyone in the office wore masks the entire time, and the parking structure doesn’t even require parking validation at this time (one less thing for me to touch and worry about cleaning). TLDR: Dr. Kornafel is a great doctor, I have fun conversations with her, and her office and building is extremely safe during this time. Dr. Kornafel is extremely bright and up-to-date on her medical knowledge. She is very articulate and took the time to explain the relevant physiology so that I fully understood my results.

I met with Dr. Kornafel today for the first time and will happily keep her as my annual OBGYN. I appreciated how she answered all of my questions without the feeling of rushing, and she even explained the potential dangers of certain birth controls over others - none were very dangerous - but I enjoyed learning the nuances and being given the opportunity to give informed consent. Her staff were lovely, too. I didn’t wait very long and everything was easy, just as it should be. She told me I have a heart murmur, which I didn’t know but apparently my mom did, so I feel like I also gained bonus knowledge on top of what I went there for. Dr. Kornafel is the reason I have my rainbow baby. She is direct and to the point. She tells you the truth and provides options based on the facts of your case. I had three loses before I went with her. She explained in detail all the possible outcomes if I were to get pregnant again or do IVF. She explained the testing and gave us her opinion on what she thought would be the best option. She never pushed for anything and let my husband and I decide what we thought was best. We decided to try again naturally, I got pregnant and she had already established a plan. Thanks to her knowledge and plan I was able to carry out my pregnancy and deliver a baby boy. If you’re looking for an honest doctor who will tell you facts and the truth (sometimes it might not be what you want to hear) she is the best. THANK YOU Dr. Kornafel, you made our baby happen! Dr Kornafel is EXTREMELY condescending. I've been seeing her 6+ years. Every time I see her she has an attitude and talks down to me. On top of her poor bedside manner, it's pretty difficult to get a hold of the staff. I'm done going here.

Had a scheduled first time appointment (took forever for my work to approve the day off) then I received a voicemail stating that my appointment was canceled due to a newly scheduled surgery, I then asked why they scheduled and then remove me from the schedule which I held first especially when my referral was going to expire a few days later? I was then told "well when you renew your referral and get another day off of work call back and then we can schedule you another appointment." BEYOND RUDE! I will definitely renew my referral HOWEVER I will certainly not reschedule at your office. I was a patient of Dr. Kathleen Kornafel because I had a yeast infection. She did a lab test, then prescribed an anti-fungal pill (Fluconzole). The pill did not work, so I went back for another visit. She did another test and said she would call me. She left me a voicemail and said that she found out what the problem was. She asked if I had any allergies. I returned her call and told her that I was allergic to penicillin. She said that's ok, she would prescribe me something else that will work well. I was waiting for a week for her to call back, until I finally had to call her again. Her nurse told me that she might have forgotten to prescribe me the medicine but she is not available the next 2 weeks and will get back to me. When the doctor finally got back to me, she prescribed me the exact same medicine that she had tested did not work on me! I went to the Minute Clinic inside CVS and they suggested an over the counter remedy and I got better in 2 days. So she negligently prescribed the same medicine, overbilled me and made me suffer through the entire process. I found Dr. Kornafel from Zocdoc. I've seen Dr. Kornafel since last year and this year had a surgery removing ovarian cyst. Dr. Kornafel is a great doctor. She has been really patient with me. She takes her time to explain everything in details. The procedure went great. I'm really glad that I went to her at the first place.

Dr. Kornafel is great! Extremely patient and friendly. Everyone in the office is also very friendly and seem very happy. Overall, great vibe and positivity all around!

Dr kornafel has been by OB for 20 yrs. Because she is so thourough and keeps amazing detailed records of each visit, she was able spot a pinhead size Mole on my pubic area and biopsied it without hesitation. It ended up being squamous cell skin cancer and I was able to schedule MOHS surgery at UCLA to take care of it. This discovery occurred only months after having my baby which means my maternity doctor never noticed it all those visits. I owe my life to dr kornafel for her keen eye!

This is the worse Doctor one can go to. The worse bedside manner. Staff rarely pick up their phones. Also, Messages are never returned. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

I?m from Florida & was very spoiled with an amazing OBGYN so finding someone to fill her shoes was no small task. However, after meeting with Dr. Kornafel for a very serious issue, she knew exactly what I needed & immediately scheduled me for surgery in less than a week. I love her demeanor & very much appreciate all the time she spent with me. She is extremely thorough which gave me peace of mind. Her staff was patient, attentive & kind & I?m so thankful that I found her.
