Dr. Karim Masrouha

My son broke his wrist about 3 years ago and was operated by dr Masroucha at NYU in Manhattan. After surgery my son was wearing cast for 3 months and had regular checkups , when it was finally removed it looked like the bone shifted and hand looked deformed. Although this dr had great bedside manners at the end the result was horrific and my son needed a second surgery. I could no longer trust this doctor. I am unsure if he was very inexperienced then but thankfully I found another surgeon at HSS who performed second corrective surgery with a success, I am honesty very surprised by all the positive reviews maybe he had learned from our experience or gained enough work experience but this whole experience was very troubling.

Dr. Masrouha is an excellent surgeon, based on my experience with a complicated broken femur that landed me in emergency. I was in pretty hideous pain thoughout my time in emergency, but after surgery I experienced no pain at all, even through recovery and physical therapy, just stiffness as I relearned use of the leg and my strength returned. All follow ups have been informative, honest and professional. My rapid transition from excruciating pain to zero pain is, I believe, a testimony to Dr. Masrouha's expertise and skill. Very highly recommended.

My son (10 years old) visited Dr. Masrouha at NYU Langone on 17th street. With a smile and attentiveness, he diagnosed my son's wrist (basketball injury) and answered all our questions and concerns with utmost sincerity. The appointments were thorough and not rushed. I will definitely keep his contact info for future issues - as both my sons are active basketball, skateboarding and judo. We will be in his office soon again.

Explained everything thoroughly, never rushed. Very wise in his field, as we had many questions for him. One of the best physicians I have ever encountered, and believe me that’s saying a lot. He takes all the time necessary, listens carefully to your questions, and gives you thorough answers specific to your case. I had a very rare bone infection where tumors were taking over first my brain then other parts of my body. He diagnosed the problem, created various treatment plans, met with other physicians in the same field, gave me several treatment options and THEN put together a dream surgical team to fix the problem! This Dr works very hard. I have never had a better experience with any Dr. I cannot recommend him high enough. I was so lucky he agreed to take my case.

Dr Karim Masrouha is a dream physician. I have a rare tumor condition which began in my brain and spread to bones in my body. When it began affecting my hip Dr M discovered and diagnosed the problem, determined treatment options, met w Drs for outside opinions, and presented me with several treatment options. He is so patient and listened carefully to all my concerns. He responds immediately to all outreach. He put together a dream team for my surgery and was there through all of it. He works very hard. I am very lucky to have him as a Dr. And cannot recommend him highly enough.

I can’t give enough stars to Dr. Masrouha. He is a compassionate, highly intelligent, and personable human being who completely changed my life. He removed a nerve sheath tumor from my knee, and I walked out of the hospital within hours and by the time the weekend came around, I was in virtually no pain. While living through a scary time with my 31 year old daughter, Dr. Masrouha made everything ok form the very first moment we met him. He made the difference not only for my daughter the patient, but me as her mother, and us as a family. He made sense of all we were trying to understand with clear demonstrations of information. He was always timely in his replies to my daughter’s questions/ calls/emails . He remained supportive and reassuring through the entire process, surgery and follow up. First let me say if I could give Dr. Masrouha 10 stars I would.. My 85 year old Mother has stage for renal cancer. There was a tumor in her upper left arm, it was eating away at her bone...We went to see Dr. Masrouha and immediately liked him. He is very warm, he truly cares about his patients, he explained to us that if my Mom did not have surgery her bone would break and would not be able to be fixed because there would be no bone left. The surgery was very complicated, there as a lot involved. Dr Masrouha sat with us for a long time to explain in detail everything that would be done on the day of surgery. He gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him anytime. On the day of surgery Dr Masrouha stayed with my Mom while we waited for her to go into the OR, he personally took care of her the whole time. He is a real down to earth Doctor, I never once felt intimated with him, he always had time for us, he still does. Whenever we have a question he gets back to me the same day, and even apologizes if he gets back to me at the end of the day. He is a pediatric surgeon who also takes care of Adults, I highly recommend Dr. Masrouha if you want a warm, caring , knowledgeable Doctor. My Mother's surgery was in November 2020 and she is doing excellent, Dr. Masrouha gave my Mom quality of life, and she just adores him.. she says he is a great human being.

On my mother's behalf during her time spent with Dr. Masrouha, from her initial visits through and after surgery, we experienced a most patient and kind man shown through his demeanor and hismedical acumen and explanations were concise and clear . Since I was with my Mom during day of and after surgery, Dr. Masrouha was beyond accessible for me to contact him with any questions I may have had. My Mom(93) does not receive texts. Dr. Masrouha, is incredibly kind, knowledgable, reasssuring, and takes his time with patients. I was very nervous about my potential diagnosis and surgery and he provided excellent care before, during and after my surgery.

Amazing ! Dr. Karim was great from the beginning of my process till the end. Takes his time explaining everything and makes sure you understand and feel good about it. Also, i’m good as new thanks to his surgery. Definitely recommend giving him a try.

Dr. Masrouha had amazing patient care! He made my daughter and I feel like we were the only ones in his office. He had patience to go over everything with us and didn’t make us feel rushed. He was extremely thorough in my daughter’s examination and explained everything so we had a complete understanding of her injury. We actually went to him for a 2nd opinion but after meeting him we immediately knew he was the dr we wanted to treat her!!! I highly recommend Dr.Masrouha!!!

Is grateful to have him as my Orthopedic oncology doctor his is very carefully planned for my operation. What impressed me most was that he also considered the possible problems of electrotherapy after surgery and chose a better way for me to perform this operation.

Dr. Masrouha is such a great physician! My husband found him while looking for pediatric orthopedists that we could bring our 14 month old daughter to. We had seen several very rude and unsympathetic doctors to find out why our toddler was walking weird. None of them cared to help us. But when we visited Dr. Masrousha, we experienced a different type of care. He was very inviting and explained everything in detail so that we understood. He figured out that our daughter has tibial torsion and provided us with options for treatment. I appreciate having someone take care of our daughter who clearly takes pride in his work and helping his patients

Dr Karim Masrouha is one of the finest physicians that I have encountered anywhere. I was referred to him for preventive surgery on my leg – I am a stage four cancer patient and a lesion in my leg was in danger of imminent fracture. Dr Masrouha was – from the first meeting – kind, compassionate, completely informed and supportive – an incredible combination and meeting him was the beginning of a fond friendship. Having been a practicing physician myself for over 40 years I have high standards and expectations and he met them all – from the first consultation in which he worked with me to find a surgical schedule that fit the Christmas Holiday to coming to see me each day I was in the hospital from the first to the last – coming in to personally sign me out on a Sunday. His responsive and caring approach to his patients is remarkable and his knowledge and skill extraordinary. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with Dr. Masrouha. He treated my daughter when she broke a bone last month--right in the early days of coronavirus shutting down NYC. To say that things were weird and crazy in that time is an understatement and Dr. Masrouha was amazing at making sure we understood her treatment and communicating information to both parents in a clear and pleasant fashion. His patience and compassion are to be commended. I hope we don't have any more broken bones, but if we do need an orthopedist again, I'd definitely go back to him!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Masrouha since October 2019, when he became my primary orthopedic oncological surgeon. I am not exaggerating when I say that this man is setting a higher bar for doctors everywhere. His compassion, knowledge, and bedside manner is unmatched. His experience is diverse and he has an open mind toward everyone and everything. He LISTENS, really LISTENS, and truly cares for his patients. He has eased the anxiety of some extremely difficult situations, such as meeting me at the ER on a Saturday night for a complicated issue he had been treating me for that became urgent, not to mention performing a rare and difficult surgery (hip disarticulation amputation of my left leg) to absolute perfection, with zero complications. His job didn’t end there. He found a specialized prosthetist for me. He checks in with me even though his part of my treatment is technically concluded. He makes himself available any time I have questions or concerns. He is one of those people that is kind to the core and will go an extra 100 miles for his patients. I am beyond grateful that I get to call him my doctor.
