It was a great pleasure meeting Dr Halazun and his PA Ellie. I am going through the process of being a liver donor for a very good friend of mine. Dr. Halazun was very informative explaining everything from the procedure, complications and recovery. He was also patient in answering my questions and made me feel at ease with his confidence. I feel very lucky to have him as my surgeon and would highly recommend him.

D. Kalazun was professional and courteous. I couldn't have been more pleased or satisfied by our interview.

Dr. Halazun is the Greatest ! The man literally saved my life with the entire Transplant team. His level of confidence in addition to his expertise and compassion is unrivaled. Me, my family and friends will forever be indebted to him. The world needs more people like him !!

The purpose of my visit was to evaluate my case to go through a complicated liver transplant. Being a medical scientist I knew before the visit that it is challenging case with high risk. During the visit Dr. Halazun explained in detail his approach to minimise the risk. After the visit I felt that I will be in good hands and gave me hope. In addition, he has a good sense of humor. My experience at Cornell was great. I highly recommend Dr. Halazun and Cornell to patients who need liver transplant.

I found Dr. Kalazun to be very professional and concise. Was very reassuring and knowledgeable, as a person with a serious illness and very much in need of information. I was given that which I needed; reassurance that I was going to be care for.

Very professional

Dr. Halazun is a brave and talented surgeon. When Sloan Kettering would not operate to remove my mother's cancerous gallbladder which had invaded her liver Dr. Halazun performed the 12 hour life saving surgery. My mother is still here, 2 years later, enjoying her grandchildren. She would have certainly died without Cornell and Dr. Halazun.

Extremely professional and educational

Dr. Halazun saved my life. He had the courage to operate on my liver cancer after I was told I have no cure from so many hospitals, including memorial sloan kettering. I am 43 and have two young daughters. It is thanks to Dr. Halazun that I will be able to see them grow up and that they will have their father standing next to them on their wedding way. Dr. Halazun will of course be invited.

Fantastic and caring with great knowledge

Excellent experience with Dr. Halazun. He gave me a very clear explanation of what needed to be done and why. I really appreciated his straight forward approach re: my upcoming major surgery. As someone who hasn’t stayed overnight in a hospital since birth (67 years ago), Dr. Halazun put me in as much ease as possible as I am about to embark on this!

Dr. Halazun and his team at Weill Cornell saved my dad's life. My parents had to relocate to NYC because the major academic hospital in their hometown wouldn't consider my dad to be a surgical candidate, deeming him to be too much of a high risk patient. My dad was given an 8-12 month prognosis. We came to Cornell to obtain a second opinion and it was the best decision we have ever made. My dad is now status post surgery and is recovering well. He received a liver transplant from Dr. Halazun. His surgical skills along with an incredible team from Weill Cornell hospital allowed my husband a successful surgery. It was July 1st when we met Dr. Halazun for the first time. My wife was diagnosed with gall bladder cancer in late January 2019 and the two most famous cancer hospitals for this disease in the Northeast both told us that interventional surgery to remove the cancer was too complicated and that the prognosis was not good. After five months of chemo treatments elsewhere, we had run out of hope, until we met Dr. Halazun, who felt, successful surgery was possible. He gave us hope and then a week later, he came through by performing a nearly 11 hour surgery to successfullly remove the cancer. It is now thiree months since surgery and each day she is getting stronger and stronger and looking better and better. Yes I would. Dr. Hazalun was not rushed in our visit, even though it was a busy day. He listened first and then explained the procedure next. I appreciated that we took as much time as needed to discuss things. Even when he was interrupted by a nurse for another patient, he stayed focused with our conversation.
